From the Supervisor’s desk:

Dear Parents,

If you want your child to be a good student, don't limit their learning to the walls of
his/her classroom. Although the skills he's learning in the classroom are crucial to
his/her growth, your child needs your help to open up and discover things on their
own.

Here are a few things you could do with your child:

 Read with them.
 Encourage them to talk about their feelings or why they made a certain choice.
 Encourage them to find out more about subjects they have a passion for.
 Encourage them to try out new things.
 Help them to learn how to be organized so they can feel that they are in control of

what they do.
 When they achieve something no matter how big or small, celebrate that success

with them.

Our grade 3 students have now settled in well. It is extremely rewarding
to see how happy children are to come to school every morning and
how actively involved our parents ar. As we look back on the month
gone by we have achieved so much collaboratively. Thank you for
entrusting us with your children.

‘Ramadan’ and the ‘Spirit of Giving’

From the Doctor’s Desk Chicken Pox

Chickenpox, is caused by a virus, it is generally contagious.

With a few spots on the body and face, it may be difficult to diagnose initially. With
slightest suspicion, the child should be seen by a doctor and once diagnosed he or
she should be off school for at least 10 days or until the last scabs have fallen off.

Although vaccination against C. Pox is optional, it may be wise to have your child
vaccinated (unless the child already had C. Pox.) Occasionally the child may have
serious complication from C. Pox, especially if the child’s immunity is low. The
illness can be prevented or its severity minimized by giving 2 injections at an interval
of 3 months in private or Govt. clinic with a health card.
