THANK YOU FROM THE CLUB AT ROLLING HILLS FOUNDATION
I wanted to send a Thank You letter to the entire membership for your participation in the survey for worthy
charities, those that attended the Gala, and the generous members who donated time, money and great auction
items. The party was one of the best we have had in a long time, and I am already looking forward to doing it again
next year.
With your support, we raised close to $60,000 in net proceeds. After expenses, the three charities you all chose
(Walk With Me, Jefferson Center for Mental Health and Foothills Animal Shelter) will each receive nearly $20,000.
Please keep an eye out for our annual Christmas Giving Tree in the Foyer. And if you are looking for that end of
year tax write off, please consider the Rolling Hills Foundation, a not for profit 501c3. Your money is serving great
causes in our community.
Thank you to the Foundation Board members who are making things happen. Barb Lutz, Bob Whitfield, Barrett
Johnson, Shane Folds, Scott Anderson, Caitlin Stultz, Kyle Johnson, Greg Feith, Polly ReQua and Chelsea Trotzig
are a fantastic team. If you’re interested in joining in, or just helping out on a committee or a specific project,
please reach out to one of us.
With deep gratitude,
Sean Plumb, Foundation President
grounds update
• We are seeing elk damage almost daily again. Our team will continue to repair daily and we are preparing for
fencing every green again this fall. Most greens will be fenced after handicap season has ended. If we need
to fence a few greens (8 & 16) earlier, we will communicate with you.
• Mowing heights are coming up for the season. To prepare the course for the off-season, all short grass
mowing heights will be raised. This is the same practice we complete every fall.
• Aerification - the greens will not be aerified this fall, but the approaches/collar areas will be. We will work
on these areas beginning October 10th. Fairways will be sliced as we demo a new machine over the next few
weeks that allows us to aerify deeper in the fairways. Aerification dates for next year to keep in mind are
May 2nd-5th and August 28th-31st.
• With the additional play, the course has seen in the last three years, we need to get back to more aerification
to relieve compaction and promote healthy turf in the short grass areas.
Thank you and enjoy the fall golf season!
