Why is identifying metals in finished products important?

Over the years there has been various news related articles where consumers have found metal items
in products purchased in stores. One of the most alarming was relating to parents finding sewing
machine needles attached to childrens clothing. The impact on a brands reputation can be devastating
when this happens and can result in a decrease in sales over night.
Even with internal process controls in place, metal items can find their way through at any stage of the
supply chain and be found by the consumer.
