ABOUT MMU
Multimedia University (MMU) is one of Malaysia’s leading universities particularly in the area of digital and information, communication and technology (ICT) education since its establishment in June 1997. As a Government Linked University (GLU), MMU has produced more than 60,000 highly skilled graduates and currently has more than 12,000 students in Melaka and Cyberjaya campuses with approximately 1,000 international students from 56 countries.
MMU was granted the Self-Accreditation status from Malaysian government, formally acknowledging that the university is a trustworthy institution in providing high quality education. Due to the university’s consistent superlative performance and achievements, MMU has been accorded the status of a Premier Digital Tech Institution by Ministry of Higher Education and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), and is now officially recognised as one of the best places in the country to pursue computer and technology-related programmes. In addition, MDEC’s Malaysia Digital Talent Study 2017 Final Findings by Frost and Sullivan has revealed that MMU graduates are most preferred by IT industries in Malaysia.
The Times Higher Education (THE) World Rankings 2021 listed MMU in the Top 10 among all Malaysian universities. At the same time, the THE Asia Rankings 2021 placed MMU in the 400+ position for the continent. Meanwhile, the QS World University Rankings 2021 ranked MMU in the Top 7 among private Malaysian universities, and continues to list the university among other prominent institutions in the QS World University Rankings 2022.
