Stitch T Shirt
A stitch t shirt is a type of garment made with a single row of stitches securing the hem edges and sleeve cuffs. This is contrasted with modern t-shirts that use standard double row of stitching. These shirts are popular among vintage collectors. A single-stitch tee also tends to be softer to the touch.
Some buyers use the single-stitch construction as a way to authenticate vintage pieces. However, this method is not foolproof. Many t-shirts from the 1980s used double stitching, so single-stitch construction alone is not an indication of age or authenticity.
The single-stitch construction is more commonly seen on ringer tees, which feature a band of contrasting colored ribbing at the neckline and sleeve cuffs. These shirts are usually cotton and polyester, which culminates in soft-to-the-touch garments that stand out from a typical firm double stitch tee. In addition, a single-stitch tee is less likely to shatter or stretch with wear. This makes it a great choice for
