The invitations to the Open Day at the Club
included refreshments. These refreshments were
p(epared by the members the day before the event.
By then the other preparations were finished.
Although many visitors came to the Club during
the duy, most people arrived during the evening.
By eight o'clock all the rooms were almost filled,
and there was hardly room for the Club members
to move about.
There were displays of judo and danci,og, and
Simon showed his film of the trip to the mountain.
Each of these was a great succ, ess and enjoyed by
everyone. Then the people moved around the
rooms, looking at the equipment of the Club and
the exhibition which had been set up for them. This
exhibition was of handwork by the members of the
Club. Much of their handwork had been done by
the girls, as the boys liked to spend more time on
exercise and games. Many people were interested
in the large wall painting which showed many of
the outdoor activities of the Club.
While the visitors were having their refreshments,
the Club leader thanked everyone for the interest
they had shown. Then one of the parents, speaking
for the others, thanked Simon and said that the
Club was a great success.
