Little Hadham
Primary School
A Warm welcome
At Little Hadham Primary School we pride ourselves on
providing a nurturing environment allowing our children
to grow and flourish as individuals.
Little Hadham is a small school with a big heart, where
we want our pupils to strive towards becoming creative,
thoughtful people ready to take on the challenges of secondary school and life.
Our forest school ethos is at the heart of the children’s education and our outdoor
learning really allows them to develop a greater understanding of themselves and
their own capabilities.
Our school is situated just along the road from Bishop’s Stortford, and we welcome
children from neighbouring towns and villages (as well as further afield). We benefit
from this closeness to Bishop’s Stortford, as well as gaining the unique feel of our
rural community.
As a non-denominational school we celebrate all cultures and embrace the growing
diversity of our community. Our aim is that all pupils at Little Hadham achieve highly,
making excellent progress from their starting points and, working as a team, we
support and challenge each other to ever greater accomplishments.

independent thinking nurtured
Individuality is at the heart of Little Hadham’s
ethos and during their time at primary school
we want our children to develop confidence
to thrive as themselves. As such, we challenge
them as they work across the curriculum and
extra-curricular activities.
Mixed year group classes provide children
with wide ranging opportunities, including
passing their knowledge to younger children
and being positive role models. This ‘vertical’
grouping nurtures thinking, problem solving
skills, vocabulary and social competences
and creates a greater sense of cooperation as
pupils work with a wide circle of peers.

happiness at the centre of all lear
Confident, cheerful children make the best
learners. To ensure that this describes our
pupils we have a wide enrichment curriculum
including chess, yoga, forest, multi-sports,
music, dance, drama, debating and gardening.
Children take part in school trips which, for
example, give the opportunity to experience a
day in the life of a Victorian school child, and to
meet a Viking. Residential trips play an important
part in the children’s growth.
As a consequence of Covid, we give even
greater emphasis to each child’s social and
mental wellbeing as they continue their
learning journey.

Closer than you might think! where we are
Little Hadham Primary School is surprisingly
close to Bishop’s Stortford (only 2 miles from
the Tesco’s roundabout).The new A120
bypass makes a huge difference to our
environment by reducing pollution, cutting
journey times and making access to the
school much easier.
