Nifty Needles members are many things,
including persistent! Despite the pandemic that
kept the group from meeting in person through
much of 2020, its members have been busy,
completing some 55 quilts, 11 fleece blankets 35
hygiene kits and some 40 bibs. Plus, they created
531 washable cotton face masks.
Their handmade items were donated primarily
to the VA center in Bonham, the Collin County
Children’s Advocacy Center, the North Park Nurs-
ing Home and Ranchers for the Cure. Before the
pandemic struck, the group also toured The Sa-
maritan Inn and presented 72 towels and six sets
of twin bed sheets that had been purchased using
the proceeds of last year’s craft sale.
Jenny Sullivan thanked all the members of Nifty Needles
as well as everyone who has supported the group’s work. “A
huge thank you to everyone who visited our booth at the

donated their time, talent and fabric,” she said.

The sad reality is that medical emergencies do happen on

an 18-hole golf course and several miles of trails, it has
