Velasquez, LGOO II Lui Felise B. Pantaleon, and LGOO II Aljon S. Bautista was successfully conducted on October 12, 2023, at the Dinalupihan Municipal Hall. The SFW started on July 15, 2023 under the supervision of their SFW Supervisor MLGOO Cristy M. Blanco. This part of the apprenticeship program gives the trainees direct exposure and participation as LGOOs in the actual operation of the LGU. 01 Barangay Sabang of Morong, Bataan welcomes newly-paved FMR project thru FY 2022 SGLGIF LOCAL FISHERFOLKS, farmers, and residents of Barangay Sabang, Morong, Bataan can finally bid farewell to the bumpy and uneven old road of the past with the newlycompleted 500-meter farm-to-market road (FMR) entitled “Concreting of Road at Purok 5, Brgy. Sabang”. The project’s beneficiaries can now relish a better road access brought by the successful implementation of the Seal of Good Local Governance – Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Morong. 08 FEATURE STORY the summit I n a proactive effort to enhance the welfare of its residents and advance health services within the community, the Municipality of Mariveles has proposed to the national government the acquisition of three additional medical transport units. Now, granted, the overarching goal of this project is to fulfill several crucial functions for the locality, currently serving a substantial number of the population or more or less 15,000 constituents. To further improve public healthcare standards in the town, this significant initiative was realized through a national subsidy of Php 5,000,000.00 from the F.Y. 2021 Local Government Support Fund - Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). This project underscores the LGU’s commitment to the well-being of the community. Moreover, these ambulances, staffed by certified medical professionals trained to handle a wide range of medical emergencies, are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and life-saving supplies. This ensures an immediate and effective response to emergencies, marking a notable improvement in emergency healthcare services. Dr. Gerald B. Sebastian, the Municipal Health Officer, expresses sincere gratitude for the transformative impact of this project provided by the national government. The addition of three ambulance units has overcome the previous limitations of the old vehicle in Mariveles. T h e health officer also sees this project as a symbol of hope and empowerment, enabling them to cater to a larger number of beneficiaries and effectively serve the community. PD Belina Herman, Provincial Director of DILG Bataan with Atty. Chris Ian M. Silva, COMELEC Provincial Election Supervisor and Atty. Mark Lorenz P. Quezon, Secretary to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan oversaw the conduct of the SK Panlalawigan Pederasyon Election as members of the Provincial Board of Election Supervisors. Cheers to the newly elected leaders and the promising journey that lies ahead for the Sangguniang Kabataan Panlalawigan Pederasyon. 10 Bataan LGUs earn 2022 CFLGA Seal 12 After successfully completing the CY 2022 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), 10 out of 12 LGUs in the province will be conferred with the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance. CFLGA is a mandatory audit that assesses the cities’ and municipalities’ performance in delivering child-friendly policies, programs, and services. Ultimately, the audit results will serve as a basis for the LGUs to enhance children’s rights for survival, development, protection, participation, and basic governance. Peña as the Provincial Focal person on the Anti-Drug Abuse Council where she discussed the roles and responsibilities of the BADAC Members on anti-drug campaigns at the grassroots level and the BADAC Functionality Assessment. The event concluded with closing remarks by the OIC-Cluster Team Leader, Mildred L. Sazon where she encapsulated the significance of the orientation. OIC-CTL Sazon urged BADAC members to carry forward the knowledge gained and reinforced their commitment to the cause. PEÑA These LGUs underwent rigorous validation processes and passed the performance indicators of the 10 assessment areas—a testament to their unwavering commitment to hard work, compliance with national laws, and ultimately, good governance. A STAGGERING 12 out of 13 provincial, city, and municipal LGUs in Bataan have earned the coveted Seal for 2023, leaving the province with the highest percentage of passers, not only in Central Luzon but also nationwide. PMCC meeting bolsters coordination in Bataan Presided over by DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina Herman, CESO V, the meeting facilitated constructive discussions and inputs on the presentation of accomplishments of the attached agencies. Additionally, updates and concerns regarding the assistance provided during the recent Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections were addressed. The event saw the active participation of agencies including PNP, NAPOLCOM, PDEA, Philippine Army, and BJMP Female and Male Dorm, with each agency presenting their respective achievements for the 3rd Quarter of 2023. DILG Regional Director Atty. Anthony Nuyda, Assistant Regional Director Jay Timbreza, and the local chief executives of Bataan proudly display the incentive fund cheques, celebrating the remarkable achievement of LGUs passing the FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance. Moreover, this year’s results paved the way for several notable milestones for Bataan. This includes the City of Balanga, a perennial passer, having received the award for the seventh time since the inception of the SGLG in 2015. Additionally, the Municipalities of Bagac and Pilar, as well as the Provincial Government of Bataan, likewise raised the bar by securing the award for six consecutive years. On top of it all is the Municipality of Abucay, which ended the town’s SGLG drought and successfully hurdled the assessment for the first time. The SGLG, which stands for the Seal of Good Local Governance, is the highest recognition given by the DILG and 1BATAAN SPIRIT.
