reactor by means of a nuclear fission.
2. The purpose of the project is to give a basic visual of a nuclear reactor facility by using Minecraft.
3. A website is created to help new players explore the world by watching the instructional video.
4. The file containing the created world is made available on the website.
5. Necessary information can be obtained on the website.

Assessment Summary

1. A project based on “ Using digital technology to teach about Nuclear Technology” will be carried out
by form 5 students. The objective of this project is to work together and at the same time
communicate in a group.

2. The purpose of the project is to give a basic visual of a nuclear reactor facility by using Minecraft.
3. A website is created to help new players explore the world by watching the instructional video.
4. The file containing the created world is made available on the website.
5. Necessary information can be obtained on the website.
6. Kahoot! quiz and feedback form are used to test the students’ knowledge through reading and

exploring the Minecraft world.
7. Assessment will use:

a. rubric for product
b. rubric for presentation of learning

Unit Details
Prerequisite Skills

- Knowledge about using Minecraft Education Edition and some coding
- Basic knowledge about building a website
- Knowledge about webinar streaming apps such as Streamyard and YouTube

Instructional Procedures

Stage I - Preparation of the unit

- Students are required to prepare research sheets to list out relevant websites regarding the topic given
by the teacher.

- Moreover, students are also told to do research about climate change and understand the meaning
behind it. Different answers from students will help to understand more about climate change.

- The students are asked to discuss climate change regarding the research done by the students.

-Students are required to collaborate with the Physics teacher to be sure that everything performs as it
should be and to help the students to understand better about it.

- Books are given to study by the teacher about climate change.

Stage II - Field Trip

Sharing students with the names of the places in Sabah that have been identified for the field visit trip.
Different places, different days. Students are required to send out parents permission letters for each
trip. Getting help from the teacher in charge to accompany the group to each place. Instruct the Do and
Don'ts during the field visit.

During the visit make sure that the students role play as researchers and see that they wrote down the
information and relevant points given by the instructor or tour guide.

Stage III - Consolidating their findings

Provide time for students to come up with a plan about “Ways to learn about Nuclear Reactor” on the
internet. Motivate them to study articles and research papers as well. Provide time for them to discuss
within them and think of the steps to make the project happens.

Remind the students of the Essential and Unit Questions:
-How is it possible to sustain our civilization with minimal side effects?

-How is Nuclear energy used to potentially combat the climate crisis?

Stage IV - Preparing Multimedia Presentations

Introduce the assignments to each member of the group such as feedback form, Kahoot quiz, website,
creating Minecraft World, social media and poster. Guide the students on what are the things that
should be inside of the feedback form, Kahoot Quiz, website, Minecraft World, social media and poster.
Check if there are any grammar errors or spelling. Always test run the Minecraft World to the detect little
mistakes or malfunctions.

Stage V - Introducing the Unit

Provide time for the students to rehearse for their presentation to the principal. Make sure that they
mention the important things such as collaboration with the whole school as participants in this project
that would provide a big help for the group. Check the website several times to make sure that
everything is perfect before presenting it to the principal.

Stage VI - Announcement & Preparation of Poster

Create a poster to put up in each classroom and in places that most students and teachers would pass
by. Make sure that the poster contains important things about how they can help you with your project
such as QR code, your aim, steps to follow, and your social media. You can add anything that you think
would attract the students as well as the teachers by adding some minecraft background or stickers.

Provide time for students before presenting their project to the whole school during assembly. Prepare
slideshows with simple yet useful information regarding the project they have been working on. Make
sure that the slideshows content are good enough to attract the attention of the students and the
teachers. Introduce the whole school to their role and get them to take up the task of the project.

Update the social media of the project to keep the followers updated. For this purpose arrange a rally
and invite students from the neighbouring schools to participate. Encourage the students to try out the
Minecraft world at the access room and politely asking them to tell their friends about it.

Perform a Presentation of Learning to current Form 5 students for the subtopic involving Nuclear reactor.
