3. DISTANCED LITTER
PICKING

A bi-product of using outdoor space, unfortunately, is
litter. Long-handled litter pickers eliminate the need
for handling litter which could otherwise pose a risk of
infection, and handy hoops ensure a more convenient
and time-efficient method of bagging the waste.

4. PPE (PERSONAL PROTECTIVE
EQUIPMENT) DISPOSAL

While there are no specific public guidelines suggesting that PPE
should be classed as hazardous or contaminated waste, coming into
contact with discarded items others have worn undoubtedly poses an
infection risk amidst the current pandemic. Therefore, we recommend
that organisations ensure it is disposed of in a secure, designated bin,
ideally a pedal bin that doesn’t need to be touched to to access it and
will contain the waste, within a plastic waste bag which can be tied up
and disposed of completely once full. Signage to highlight that your bin
is designated for PPE only is a handy reminder to staff and customers to
ensure safe and responsible waste management at the present time.
