MELILEA AROMATHERAPY FAQ

1. What is an essential oil?
Essential oils are high concentrated form of the oils found naturally in the flowers,
leaves, bark, stems, seeds, and other parts of plants. The essential oils are extracted
through a variety of methods, including cold pressing, steam distillation (the most
common method), hydro distillation, CO2 extraction and Solvent Extraction. They can
be beautifully and powerfully fragrant or essence of the plant after the oils are
extracted. Essential oils have been used for thousands of years by cultures all over the
world for their pleasant and powerful fragrances and properties. Over 3,000 varieties
of volatile aromatic compounds have been identified to date.

Our essential oils are sourced from all over the world. Every essential oil sold by
Melilea is responsibly and sustainably sourced. MELILEA provides only high quality
Pure essential oil from the best growing country of origins, for example tea tree oil
native to Australia and Lavender, native to France.

3. Certified organic
A lot of research states that there may be no difference between organic and non-
organic essential oils due to the insignificant amount of pesticides typically found in
non-organic essential oils. At Melilea, we are not biased towards either side. We
appreciate that consumers are holding the natural industry to a higher standard.
While at the same time we believe that non-organic essential oils do not run the risk
of containing consequential amounts of pesticides.

All of our bottles are larger than the size mentioned on the label. To be full the oil

lotion for massage or moisturizer.

6. Should essential oils be ingested/ used internally?
We do not recommend the general internal use of essential oils. Essential oils are
highly concentrated and have the capacity to cause burden to your body if used
internally without the necessary expertise required in administering them. The
internal use of essential oils should only be administered under the supervision of a
health-care practitioner who is qualified in the internal use of essential oils and truly
understands the chemical makeup of each individual oil.

No, we don’t recommend burn the essential oils due to the heat might break the
aromatic compounds in the essential oils. We highly recommend the use of an
aromatherapy diffuser for essential oils.

16. I’ve heard I should avoid sunlight after using some essential oils. Is this true?
Yes, some oils, especially citrus oils, can increase your skin’s sensitivity to sunlight and
magnify the effect of harmful ultra-violet rays. Be careful to avoid sunlight for 12 hours
after applying the oil to your skin or until the oil has completely washed off.

17. How should essential oils be stored?
Essential oil should be stored in dark glass bottle, in a dark, dry location. UV exposure
will cause the greatest damage to the oil’s constituents, and combining heat exposure
with light exposure will negatively affect your oils more quickly.

Pure essential oils the composition of the oil can vary depending on the time of day,
season, geographic location, method and duration of distillation, year grown, and the
weather, making every step of the production process a critical determinant of the
overall scent of the essential oil product. Scent of essential oil might vary from batch
to batch as well.

19. Which essential oils are the best?
The best essential oils are those that are pure, safe, made without synthetic fillers and
without contamination or adulteration. It is preferably to have the essential oil from
the native country, as there will be the best growing environment and conditions for
the plant before harvesting. You’ll be able to choose the right essential oils for your
needs after you done your research.

20. Should the essential oil dilute before use?
Yes. You experience many benefits by diluting essential oils with carrier oil. Dilution
increases the amount of skin, or surface area, on which the oil is applied and absorbed.
The big component of the carrier oil will bring the small components of the essential
oil, goes into the body through the skin. This will enhance absorption through dry skin
and minimizes possible sensitivities. It’s never wrong to dilute oils, especially when
using oils with a more potent chemistry, such as Cassia, Cinnamon, Clove, Oregano,
Thyme, and others.
