1. What is an essential oil?
Essential oils are high concentrated form of the oils found naturally in the flowers,
leaves, bark, stems, seeds, and other parts of plants. The essential oils are extracted
through a variety of methods, including cold pressing, steam distillation (the most
common method), hydro distillation, CO2 extraction and Solvent Extraction. They can
be beautiful and powerful fragrant or essence of the plant after the oils are extracted.
Essential oils have been used for thousands of years by cultures all over the world for
their pleasant and powerful fragrances and properties. Over 3,000 varieties of volatile
aromatic compounds have been identified to date.

Our essential oils are sourced from all over the world. Every essential oil sold by
MELILEA is responsibly and sustainably sourced. MELILEA provides only high quality
pure essential oil from the best growing country of origins, for example tea tree oil

3. Certified organic
A lot of research states that there may be no difference between organic and non-
organic essential oils due to the insignificant quantity of pesticides typically found in
non-organic essential oils. At MELILEA, we are not biased towards either side. We
appreciate that consumers are holding the natural industry to a higher standard.
While at the same time we believe that non-organic essential oils do not run the risk
of containing consequential amounts of pesticides.

4. The bottle of oil is not full, why?
All of our bottles are larger than the size mentioned on the label. To be full the oil
needs to reach the shoulder (curve) of the bottle. Usually this should be right above
the top of the label.

You can use Jojoba oil, Coconut oil, Avocado Oil (MELILEA PHYTO-3 Carrier Oil Blend

lotion for massage or moisturizer.

6. Should essential oils be ingested/ used internally?
We do not recommend the general internal use of essential oils. Essential oils are
highly concentrated and have the capacity to cause burden to your body if used
internally without the necessary expertise required in administering them. The
internal use of essential oils should only be administered under the supervision of a
health-care practitioner who is qualified in the internal use of essential oils and truly
understands the chemical makeup of each individual oil.

MELILEA ESSENTIAL OIL_SELLER FAQ

16. I have heard I should avoid sunlight after using some essential oils. Is this true?

42. When other branded essential oils in the market are used, they only need a small
number of drops to be effective but MELILEA needs more drops. Is it because the
purity of MELILEA essential oil is relatively low?
Each brand has its own unique usage indicators. For example, when brand A essential
oil is used, it needs 6 drops, but brand B essential oil only needs 4 drops. Controlling
the speed and quantity of the essential oil dropping will make a difference. Therefore,
the use of the same quantity (drops) of different brands of essential oil will result in a
difference in the concentration of the product's scent. The purity of essential oils can
be confirmed through the identification on the label. The purity of MELILEA essential
oil is marked as 100%, which also means that we submitted this information to the
Ministry of Health KKM and registered with NOT. The purity of essential oils must be
honest and accurate, otherwise it will violate the law. Therefore, the number of drops
of essential oils and the strong scent produced cannot be used to determine whether
the essential oils are pure or the concentration. In addition, after the two different
brands of essential oils are diluted, it is possible to have different concentrations, and
this can be diluted with the content of the carrier oil and water. If dilution is not
accurate, the concentration will be different.

DIY Essential Oil Insect Repellent Spray: 100ml purified water + 2 drops of lavender
essential oil + 2 drops of eucalyptus essential oil + 4 drops of lemongrass essential oil;
use after mixing. It is recommended to use opaque bottles (glass bottles are better),
which can be stored for about 1 week.

57. What should I pay attention to when using essential oils in lotions or creams?
Adding essential oils to the lotion or cream can enhance the extra functions of the
serum, so that customers can carry out targeted conditioning and care according to
their current skin conditions.
First of all, the selected lotion or cream does not have a strong scent or only emits a
light botanical scent (so that it will not cause discomfort to the user)
Second, the formula of the lotion or cream itself does not contain essential oils (avoid
the increase in% after adding essential oils and cause sensitivity)
Third, choose only one suitable essential oil to use (Lavender- Heal wounds; Tea tree-
Antibacterial; Eucalyptus- Anti-inflammatory; Sweet orange-Moisturizing;
Lemongrass-Anti-inflammatory)

58. Customers review that the serum is highly concentrated, add on with the high
concentration essential oils, will it cause a burden?
BotanicO+ has a complete formula, and there is no need to add other essential oils. If
you want to add essential oils, you can get other functions, but the dilution percentage
of essential oils should be less than 1%. This is because the essential oil itself is
relatively high volatilization and penetration, so it can be absorbed quickly. When
using it, the body can absorb the essential oil according to the recommended formula
1%. It will not be like vegetable oil, highly dense and takes longer to be absorbed by
the body.

59. Can people with G6PD deficiency use essential oils?
The full name is "glucose hexaphosphate dehydrogenase deficiency", which is a
common congenital metabolic disease in Asians. Peppermint essential oil containing
"Methyl salicylate" needs to be avoided. But if you are interested in using our other
essential oils, you can consult a doctor.

60. Will you become addicted after using essential oils?
Long-term use of the same essential oil has no actual cases of "addiction", but because
each essential oil is composed of hundreds of special and rare ingredients. Normally,
we rarely come into contact with it, the amount needed is very small, and the amount
absorbed by essential oils will not be excessive. However, we still recommend that
you try to make some changes when using essential oils. It is also good to try other
different essential oils.

MELILEA ESSENTIAL OIL_SELLER FAQ

61. We use other brands of lavender essential oil, but the concentration of MELILEA
essential oil is relatively low and the scent is not strong enough. Why is this? Use
humidifier + peppermint essential oil, or eucalyptus + tea tree essential oil, and it
feels like the scent cannot be diffused.
First of all, we have to clarify the definition. How do you define the concentration of
essential oils?

In fact, we define the purity of MELILEA essential oil as 100%. If you compare other brands
(the same kind of essential oils) whose essential oil purity is also 100%, then the purity of
these two essential oils without being diluted, the concentration is the same. So, what
causes the difference in scent? Let's analyze the following points to find out where the
differences are:

1. The number of drops (essential oil usage): Each brand has its own unique usage
indicators. For example, when brand A essential oil is used, it needs 6 drops, but brand B
essential oil only needs 4 drops. Controlling the speed and quantity of the essential oil
dropping will make a difference. Therefore, the use of the same quantity (drops) of different
brands of essential oil will result in a difference in the concentration of the product's scent.
The purity of essential oils can be confirmed through the identification on the label. The
purity of MELILEA essential oil is marked as 100%, which also means that we submitted this
information to the Ministry of Health KKM and registered with NOT. The purity of essential
oils must be honest and accurate, otherwise it will violate the law. Therefore, the number of
drops of essential oils and the strong scent produced cannot be used to determine whether
the essential oils are pure or the concentration. In addition, after the two different brands
of essential oils are diluted, it is possible to have different concentrations, and this can be
diluted with the content of the carrier oil and water. If dilution is not accurate, the
concentration will be different. Here is an experiment to compare a number of different
brands of essential oils. When dropping essential oils, the angle of the bottle is generally
recommended to be 45 degrees, but when the angle is adjusted to 90 degrees, the amount
of essential oils will also change.

Brand D (45 degrees) 0.04ml per drop MELILEA (45 degrees) 0.03ml per drop
Brand D (90 degrees) 0.045ml per drop MELILEA (90 degrees) 0.035ml per drop

2.Production Season/Climate: We know that the same brand and the same variety of
essential oils may have deviations in scent. The reason is that the production season/climate
is different. Comparing two different brands of essential oils, there will be the same situation.
It is difficult for the two essential oils to be produced in the same season, climate, harvest
time, and place of production, hence, the scent will be different. When essential oils are used
in the morning, noon and night, they will also have different feelings due to changes in the
ambient room temperature.

MELILEA ESSENTIAL OIL_SELLER FAQ

3.The speed of volatilization: The same essential oil, when used, the external environmental
conditions such as the cold and heat of the air conditioner, the size of the space, the humidity
of the air, the climate temperature change, the contact surface, the storage condition of the
essential oil, etc. will cause differences in the speed and time of essential oil volatilization. For
example: Lavender essential oil is a middle note essential oil, and its volatile characteristics
are slower than that of top note peppermint essential oil; compared to base note cedarwood
essential oil, cedarwood will appear low-key, and the volatile flavor is slower and calmer.
When diffusing lavender, you will slowly feel the change in the scent, from a light floral scent
to a woody scent. This is because the scent will volatilize with time and temperature, and our
nose can smell the scent after volatilization. The indoor temperature will also cause some
differences in the scent. When the room temperature is low, the volatilization speed becomes
slower (it takes a longer time to smell), and the scent of essential oils with high room
temperature volatilizes all at once. Next is the humidifier, if you add too much water, the
atomization space is not enough and the scent may not be diffused. Therefore, it is
recommended to use the humidifier according to its manual.
