Toh Muda Orang Kaya-Kaya Panglima Seri Amar Bangsa DiRaja Dato’ Ab Wahab bin Dato’ Seri Azizul Hasan Chairman MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN When I penned my first message for the Club’s Newsletter as the Chairman of the Board of Directors two years ago, it was written at a time when we were suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. Our Club was thrashed financially due to strict standard of procedures and lockdowns executed by the government. The Board knew it was imperative for the respective governing bodies and management team to lead an effective recovery phase, whereby long-term security of our Club would be protected and sustained. My previous messages were nonetheless, written ominously but with the lifting of the lockdowns, I am pleased to report that the performance of our Club has improved significantly and so were our spirits to serve. Undoubtfully our journey to recovery has been remarkable and encouraging due to various strategies implemented to improve the revenue of our Club. As you all are aware, projects, activities and policies adopted in the recent years were also aimed at the reduction of our Club’s dependency on subscription dues as well as to improve our facilities in entertainment and membership services to embolden better members’ participation, which, in turn, has leveraged our Club assets to the benefit of all members. Initially some of our strategies were hampered by the lockdowns and restriction, but once the lockdowns were lifted, these strategies produced excellent results, thus boosting up our financial status.. Indeed, members’ participation has reached new heights since lifting of the lockdowns, and it would be inconsiderate of me if I failed to recognize the role and efforts played by members in the past two years. I appeal to all members to continue to support our activities to ensure that our Club thrives through this distressing period successfully. Our management team will continue to take necessary procedures to safeguard our members’ health and well-being. Allow me to advise members to remain committed to adherence to our safety protocols as prescribed by the authorities, including undergoing quarantine measures and the disinfection of our facilities. We must, never become complacent in these challenging times so as not to endanger the well-being of others by our lack of co-operation and sluggishness. Our Club will remain a safe haven when members adhere to social distancing, constant sanitizing and a new lifestyle to minimize the spread of the pandemic. I must admit that I am enjoying every minute of my return to activeness at our Club, and I welcome all of you to join me to make our Club your abode of leisure, entertainment and relaxation. Please stay safe and healthy always.
