• A self-contained defined area.
• A positive shape creates a negative shape.

Texture

• the surface quality of a shape: rough, hard,
smooth, etc.

Color

• Light reflected off objects. It has three
main characteristics: hue, value(
brightness and darkness), and intensity(
how light and dark it is)
