Grade VIII Amazon organized an
assembly on “Technology- A Boon
or a Bane” on 15th May’18. The
learners presented a Tech Show,
thematic dance and a self-
composed poem as well. The
assembly was marked by the
presence of the Principal, Ms.Anita
Malhotra and the Head Mistress
(Middle Wing) Ms. Harvinder Kaur.

Class Assembly of Grade VIII Tapti was

Learners of Grade VII Chenab
presented an assembly on the 17th
July 2018 to commemorate the
World Youth Skill Day. The Anchors
set the ball into motion, welcoming
all present. The audience was
updated by the students with
current affairs followed by the
school news. The mime act gave a
reality check on how gadgets affect
the minds of the youth. The Siri Act
highlighted facts about Skill India.

dance performance followed by

“Make In India” – A Project started by
our honorable Prime Minister Mr.
Narender Modi. Class VII Volga
conducted the morning assembly on
24th April’18 to share the details and
make the fellow learners aware of
the efforts required by all of us as
Indian citizens. The assembly
commenced with the morning prayer

Grade VII Colorado presented the
assembly on Tuesday, 31st July, 2018,
highlighting ‘Atithi Devo Bhava',
bringing forth a cultural tradition
that history has been witness to. The
assembly commenced with the school
news, followed by a short story-
Blessing in disguise. A short skit on
‘Atithi Satkar’ written by the
learners was performed. A special
Rajasthani folk dance, self
choreographed by the learners
enthralled the audience. The
assembly was a success as it
reinforced the message of duty,
respect and honour.
The achievement of Raghav Bhardwaj
was acknowledged and applauded for
earning a distinction in Rock and Pop
Examination conducted by the Trinity
College, London.

YOUTH PARLIAMENT TRAINING
SESSION

21ST APRIL 2018

Lotus Valley International School , Gurugram organized a training session on Youth
Parliament on 21st April 2018.The resource person for the training session was Mohd.
Shahrukh Ali.The training session aimed at making students understand the
parliamentary procedure. It helped to develop in students an insight into the working
of parliament. The session also aimed at training learners in the technique of group
discussion and develop an ability to arrive at a decision after group discussion.
The core objectives of the Training Programme were:
•To foster youth development through social dialogue;
•To give young people the opportunity to have their views heard by key decision-
makers and the general public;
•To help young people to understand and actively participate in parliamentary
processes;
•To assist young people learn how to influence governmental decision-making as
active citizens;
•To highlight the importance of helping young people understand how decisions are
made and how they can be involved in influencing their world.

WORK EDUCATION

Work education forms an indispensable
part of our school curriculum. Also
known as SUPW, Socially Useful
Productive Work, it aids in developing
individual skills and aims to help develop
among the students the habit to work as
a community, encourage community
thinking, increase awareness of scientific
advancements and develop a scientific
outlook. Learners worked meticulously
and enjoyed greatly in the club of their
choice, be it Painting, Debates and
Declamation, Robotics, Calligraphy, to
name a few.

the MR Vaccination Campaign
as a part of the National
Eliminate Measles and control
Rubella /CRS on Tuesday,15th
May 2018.The vaccination was
administered to the learners
from Grades- Pre Nursery- IX in

Learners participated in a
significant Behtar India Event
organized at Government
Senior Secondary School,
Chakkarpur on Thursday, 17th
May. The event involved
handing over the Dengue
protection kits to the
underprivileged students,
benefiting around 2000
students. Our learners from
Grades VIII to X presented a
meaningful Nukkad Natak to
highlight the protection and
precaution from Dengue
disease and to create
awareness amongst the
underprivileged children. The
entire programme was
covered by Republic TV which
partners with Behtar India
Team to take the message
across to masses.

CAREER FAIR FOR IX - XII

VISIT BY FRENCH DELEGATES

Lotus Valley International School,
Gurugram, welcomed faculty members,
Ms. Brigitte and Ms. Carole, from our
partner school in France, Collège
Salvador Allende, Nantes, on Monday,
24th April. The school hosted them for
two days as they observed, discussed
and met learners and teachers. They
shared ways of teaching and analysed
different methods used to deliver the
lessons.

They witnessed different activities on
Earth Day celebrated by Primary grade
learners on 23rd April and English
Language Day on 24th April by senior
students. The Principal, Ms. Anita
Malhotra introduced them in the school
assembly and talked about our ties with
the school. The French guests and the
Principal felicitated the 19 learners of
the Indo-French Exchange Programme
with Certificates of Participation. It was
an experience of great cultural learning
for teachers and students.

INTERNATIONAL ROBOTICS LEAGUE
(IRC) BITS PILANI, DUBAI

24th JUNE 2018

 Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram is proud to announce the winners
of The International Robotics Competition held on 24th June 2018 at Bits Pilani,
Dubai Campus. The learners Arya Jain and Hridyansh Gautam of Grade VI
Godavari brought glory to the school by bagging the Winners Trophy as Asian
Champions. They represented Team "Bot Squishers" in the Junior Category.

 IRC (International Robotics League) is South East Asia’s biggest Robotronics
competition and an initiative of Avishkaar Box. During the one day long
competition, the teams from Asian countries like India, Bangladesh, Maldives,
Singapore, Malaysia, China and Dubai competed with each other to win the title
of Asian Champions.

WORKSHOP ON EXPLORE
ENGINEERING AT BITS PILANI,DUBAI

Learners of Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram participated in two-days

workshop organized by BITS Pilani, Dubai campus. The purpose of the workshop

was to make the students aware about various streams of engineering and their

scope and to help them choose the right stream for them. The students were

exposed to various labs where they performed a number of experiments and

activities. The workshop witnessed an

interactive session in

mechanical and civil

engineering lab, computer

engineering which included

visual programming and app

development, bio technology on

DNA imaging under UV light,

blood group testing, chemical

engineering, where bioplastics

were made from starch and

galvanic cells were made and

used to generate electricity to

drive small motors, electrical

and electronic engineering lab,

where students were shown

various AC devices. Micro

controller robots and unmanned

aerial vehicles developed by the

students of BITS, Dubai campus

were also shown to the students

using state-of-the-art

technology.

SPANISH LANGUAGE IMMERSION
PROGRAMME

Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram, with the constant motivation by the
Principal, Ms. Anita Malhotra stepped into yet another Student Exchange
Programme when 15 learners from Grades VIII to XII along with Headmistress, Ms.
Harvinder Kaur and the Math facilitator, Ms. Megha Minocha visited the British
College of Gava at Barcelona, Spain from 22nd May to 29th May, 2018.
The Head teacher Mr. Steve Gellego and the Secondary Coordinator were
presented with school mementos and intricate paintings made by Vanshika.
Kabir Hanspal and Pranav Vashisht from Grade XII gave a presentation to
familiarize the children with the partner school and about India. Vanshika from
Grade XII and Ananya Jain from Grade IX shared the highlights and functioning of
our school.
Khitij Junnarkar, Krishang, Aryan, Ananya, Aanya, Rohini, Pavni from Grade VIII
while Palak Bhasin, Ridhee Junnarkar, Shruti Sharma from Grade XII and Shivali
Mishra and Gul Bhatia from Grade X showcased cultural performances. All the
presentations were well applauded and reciprocated by presenting mementos to
all learners and their Year Book and Group Photograph for Lotus Valley School.
The children's experience was further enriched with the visit to the University of
Barcelona, Picasso Museum, Sagrada Familia- work of a popular Spanish Architect,
Gaudi, Faminco dance show, Walt Disney Museum and much more.

Day on 24th April. Learners of Grades IV –
VIII did various activities on this day.

GRADE IV

Watched PPT on ‘Sketch and Smile with
Similes’ and then on an A4 sheet they
drew certain similes.

GRADE V

‘Giving Voice to Mr. Bean’. The learners
watched an animated film on Mr. Bean
and wrote the dialogues for him in their
own innovative way.

GRADE VI

PPT on the life and works of
Shakespeare & understood the
Shakespearean lingo. Then on an A4
sheet, they made use of some of the
famous phases of the era.

GRADE VII

‘Talking Shakespearean’ was conducted
for all sections. Learners enjoyed the
activity thoroughly, enriching their
vocabulary by integrating Traditional
English with the Modern times.
