RAIN NATURE
Rain is so beautiful Oh nature, Mother Nature
It is very enchanting On earth, You are the best feature
It helps in planting The wet dew on your leaves,
It goes pitter patter And the cool and gentle breeze
As if it is doing a chatter Is a wonderful marvel,
The drops look like crystals Oh, mother nature
Shining on the ends of the petals The yellow bumble bees
I love to dance in the rain And the heavenly seas
But when mama scolds it is a pain The little weeds,
In love with the beautiful monsoon The lovely trees
I await to dance on the rains tune are all a part of you!

EXAMS Nikita Juneja

Exam have come,
Books are out. Filled with difficult sums.
Study! Study! Study! Is the only thought
in mind.
Children lesser in park is what we find.

When Syllabus is announced in class.
Worried looks are what children pass.
When Exams sheet are what teachers giving.
Students wish they were not living.

When young faces are looking worried
and glum.
This is a sign exams have come.
When results are out.
Children joyfully shout!

"Hooray! Exam time is gone",
Children celebrate till dawn.
And then back to normal studying,
Without ant tension or suffering.

As the trees blew,
And the leaves danced in the moonlight,
The moon shined so bright,
It was a wonderful sight.

But when we cut the trees down,
The leaves didn't dance,
The sun didn’t dawn.

And we were left looking around,
To find the trees we used to love,
But now the time has come for us,
To do something before dusk,
Maybe, just maybe, we’ll see them again!

Raghav Bansal LIFE ON MERCURY
VI Thames
Life on Mercury is very balanced.
The people there are called
‘Jimuzers’ and they look very odd -
Pink skin colour, wobbly like jelly
and three-eyed. They are very
innovative and always keep their
planet safe. They also speak our
language. As Mercury is closest to
the Sun, it is very hot so the Jimuzers
have invented a shield for their
planet. They can also talk to
everything in the Universe. The
animals there are a mix of the
animals on Earth, and the Jimuzers.
Mercury has a very balanced
ecosystem. Everything the residents
of Mercury eat doesn’t harm any
other living organism on that planet.
They make their houses with
materials like copper and iron. And
also their reproductive systems are
located in their hands. The Jimuzers
keep their planet’s ecosystem
balanced. So, this is why life on
Mercury is very balanced.

SHORT CUTS

Orrin Woodward said that “There are many shortcuts to failure, but there
are no shortcuts to true success”. There are many examples to produce in
support of my view around this from the history, the modern world and day
to day life. Let me first take the simplest example from history of India’s
struggle for freedom. We gained freedom through a long peaceful battle
based on solid foundation, this made us a nation that is united, and heading
to become a superpower.

As said by Suzzy Kassem “In life, most short cuts end up taking longer than
taking the longer route”. This has been proven in everyone’s life. As students
if we take shortcuts for our exam preparation such as solving only last 5
years question papers, cheat through another student’s answer sheet we
may get good marks in the exam but will not gain knowledge and when it will
come to the real test of life we would either fail or will have to correct our
mistakes of the past that would take longer to succeed.

Most of the scandals and misbehaviour that have seemed endemic to
modern life involve shortcuts. For e.g. an Athlete takes a shortcut to success
by taking drugs, public official takes shortcut to become rich by taking
bribes, businessman takes shortcuts and uses unfair means to gain
immediate profit.

I would now like to conclude that we should not take the easy path in life and
should remain disciplined to achieve a higher success because short term
gains often compromise long term success.

Dear Ma’am
I write today with appreciation for the teachers in the math department in
the school. It is amazing how a subject that usually succeeds in scaring the
children away is being made into one of the most liked subjects for them.
All the math teachers who have taught my girls till now, Ms Megha, Ms
Vaishali, Ms Manisha, Ms Swati, are beyond excellent in the way they
handle the subject.
Please accept my gratitude and congratulations for building and nurturing
such brilliant departments.
