"Feel what you need to feel and then
let it go, do not let it consume you."
From the desk of the
Director-Principal
There is a powerful driving force in every human being
that, once unleashed, can make any vision, dream or
desire a reality. I am delighted to extend my best
wishes on the first edition of LVISG Times for the
session 2022-23.
LVISG Times serves as a forum for the expression of
literary and artistic skills of our budding Lotusians.
Each issue of the magazine is a milestone that marks
our learners’ hardwork, unfolds their imagination and
gives life to their thoughts and aspirations. I stand awed to see the vivid informative
articles, heart warming poetries and brainstorming puzzles contributed by our young
writers. As the Head of the institution, I acknowledge the enthusiasm of the entire team
contributing to bring out yet another successful edition for publishing.
We invite you all to read and immerse yourself in the unfolding art, and be exulted.
Happy Reading!

‘An eye for an eye makes the whole world
blind.’
-Book Review for the book “Being Gandhi”.
As the title of the book suggests Being Gandhi is a story about the relevance of Gandhi’s ideals in
today’s world through the eyes of a teenager named Chandrashekhar. The book showcases
Chandrashekhar’s transformation from a teenager who finds it unreasonable to celebrate Gandhi
every year to a sensible and caring teenager who looks beyond himself and actually wants to be kind to
others. What I particularly liked about the book was how the story was written. Paro Anand uses her
skill of writing not only to teach us all a lesson but also to spark ideas. She leads her readership across
the country on a rollercoaster of emotions. But, the story would have been better if the book comprised
more of what happened after Chandrashekhar had adopted Gandhi’s ideals in his own way. I would
recommend this book to anyone who likes fiction as well as is wanting to try their hand at reading
something offbeat.
A small percept from the book: ‘If it’s too hard for you, you don’t have to do it, you are just a small
child ,my son,’ she whispers into my ear. When I look up at her, I see scorch marks on her face and
notice her hands have been burned when she tried to save her sons and grandsons. I weep some more.
But I don't want to stop.I cannot.I don't know where we will get the strength to carry on.’
Ananya Lakara - VIII Danube

"In the words of Pablo Picasso; 'Art is chaos

I found you
Continued from Edition 8.....
After an eternit
y we finally closed in on our suspects who were holed in across the road in a
dilapidated hote
l. Just thinking about how close we were to catching them and quashing their
plans made my spine tingle.
The hours of meticulous planning were coming to fruition and there was pin drop silence as
we all huddled in the van that drove us to the dilapidated hotel. My being in the van was not
part of the plan and you wanted me to go back home. My part in the story was over and I was
to forget any of this ever happened for my own safety. That was not about to happen, I had
spent a lifetime looking for you, now that I had found you my place was right beside you.
You didn’t get a say in the matter, I was not a naive 15 year old anymore.
Even with my super persuasive abilities you were not letting me step out of the van, I sat
there and watched you and 3 other agents walk into the hotel. I wasn’t sure if the window
glass was frosted or my eyes were teary. I kept staring into nothingness long after all of you
had faded from view. Everything seemed like a blur, all I could do was pray (I am a self
proclaimed agnostic)- Lord! Please this time bring him back to me, for me and I will go to
Sunday church.
Was everything going to be OK?
It had to be OK.
I told myself it would be OK.
The next thing I knew was the hotel was up in flames, I couldn’t see a thing through the
billowing smoke. Then it hit me….
You were inside the hotel.
Then it all came rushing in…..
I wish I could turn back time.
I wish I stopped you.
I wish this never happened.
But it was all gone now; you were gone, and there was no bringing you back.
In that mind numbing moment, as I gathered the guts to step out of the van I heard a
shattering noise. As I went for the door handle, I couldn’t feel my arm, I looked down and
saw a pool of blood on your favorite shirt which I was wearing.
Through the pain, a smile illuminated my face. This was it, I was finally at peace. The fear of
death didn’t even cross my mind. I was going to be with you, for eternity this time.

"Not in doing what you like, but in liking
what you do is the secret of happiness."
GONE ARE THE DAYS..
Gone are the days when we made our own
ways
The one who goes wrong is the one who pays
In this rat race, it is the nature we must please
In this chase for power and money
We have forgotten the value of honey, bunny
and days that are sunny
In the greed of endless riches
We for the environment have become deadly
witches
The humankind has not been kind
The run for resources has blinded the mind
Coal, Petroleum and natural gas leads to
extensive pollution
It's no time to cry we ought to find a solution
So let's come together
To correct the weather
Stop climate change
Before it gets out of our range
We got to do something before it's too late
Or we will lose our Earth, our best mate
Gone are the days when we made our own
ways
Stop the chase, it is the nature we must praise

~ Chandra Shekhar Azad
As the 15th of August approaches, all of us, citizens of
Independent India are engrossed in nationalistic pride, the
same pride that helped us overcome the British 75 years
ago in 1947.
To commemorate this feat of our predecessors who
valiantly opposed colonial rule with all their strength, that
has granted us our comfortable lives; The LVISG Times
introduces its first thematic magazine in the month of
August, inviting entries on the theme,
"Indian Colonial History"
With this theme, we wish to encapsulate key moments of
our history that have shaped the landscape today, with of
course the flare of nationalism that Independence Day
always brings with.
The Editorial Team encourages our spirited readers to
send in their written pieces and express themselves
artistically in accordance to the theme and to share their
work with us on our email [email protected]

though it was monotonous at back to school and to walk down
