วิธกี ารสร้างประโยค

สิง่ ท่ีจะเปล่ียนใหท้ ุกอยา่ งกลายเปน็ Past Tense ก็
คอื verb หรอื คากรยิ า โดยอาจมคี าบอกเวลามาช่วยเพอื่ บอกให้รู้
ว่าเหตุการณเ์ กดิ ขน้ึ เม่ือไร

1. verb to be เปน็ คาเดยี วที่ปล่ียนเปน็ สองรปู คอื was กับ were
ข้ึนอยกู่ ับประธาน
– I, he, she, it ใช้ was เช่น I was at the super market
yesterday after work. (เมอื่ วานหลงั เลิกกงานฉันอยูท่ ซ่ี ปุ เปอร์มารเ์ กต็ )
– You, we, they ใช้ were เชน่ They were still at the office
when I left. (พวกเขายงั อย่ทู อ่ี อฟฟิศอยเู่ ลยตอนฉันกลบั )

2. ถ้าเป็น regular verb เราสามารถเติม -ed ไดเ้ ลย เช่น
– Talk เปน็ Talked เชน่ I talked to him this morning.
(ฉันคุยกบั เขาเม่ือเชา้ )
– Ask เปน็ Asked เช่น He asked me why I left early.
(เขาถามฉนั วา่ ทาไมฉันกลับเรว็ )

3. ถ้าคากริยาลงท้ายดว้ ย e ใหเ้ ติม d ไปเลย
– Move เป็น Moved เชน่ She moved out of her flat last
week. (เธอย้ายออกจากแฟลตเมื่ออาทติ ย์ทแ่ี ลว้ )
– Smile เปน็ Smiled เชน่ A man smiled at me on a train
and it felt so awkward. (มีผชู้ ายคนหน่ึงยม้ิ ใหฉ้ ันบนรถไฟและฉันก็
ร้สู กึ ประหลาดมากๆ)

4. ถา้ เป็นคากริยาลงท้ายดว้ ย y แต่ข้างหนา้ y เปน็ สระใหเ้ ตมิ -ed ไดเ้ ลย
สระภาษาองั กฤษคือ a, e, i, o, u
– Stay เปน็ Stayed เช่น They stayed in London for a week only.
(พวกเขาพกั อย่ทู ี่ลอนดอนเพยี งอาทติ ย์เดยี วเท่าน้นั )
แตถ่ ้าหากวา่ หน้า y เป็นพยญั ชนะ ใหเ้ ปน็ y เปน็ i แลว้ เตมิ -ed
–Worry เปน็ Worried เชน่ You worried me so much when you
disappeared last night. (เธอทาใหฉ้ ันเปน็ หว่ งมากนะตอนทเี่ ธอหายตัวไปเม่อื
คืน)

5. กรยิ าสัน้ พยางค์เดียว ท่ีมีสระตัวเดยี ว ตามดว้ ยพยญั ชนะตัวเดียว ตอ้ ง
เติมพยัญชนะตัวสุดท้ายซา้
– Stop เปน็ Stopped เช่น He stopped the car before it hit a
tree. (เขาหยดุ รถกอ่ นท่ีมนั จะชนต้นไม้)
– Beg เป็น Begged เช่น She begged him not to leave but he
ignored her completely. (เธอขอไมใ่ หเ้ ขาไปแตเ่ ขาไมส่ นใจเธอเลย)

6. คากริยาเปลยี่ นรูป หรอื irregular verb ที่มีการเปลีย่ นรปู ไปเลย
– see เปน็ saw เชน่ I accidentally saw both of them kissing.
(ฉันเห็นเขาสองคนจบู กนั อยโู่ ดยไม่ไดต้ ้ังใจ)
– buy เปน็ bought เชน่ He bought a bag for his girlfriend
as a present. (เขาซ้ือกระเป๋าให้แฟนเปน็ ของขวัญ)

7. คากริยาท่ีไมเ่ ปลี่ยนรูป
– cut คงเดมิ เช่น I cut my finger when I was cooking. (ฉันทา
มดี บาดตวั เองตอนกาลงั ทาอาหาร)
– put คงเดมิ เช่น I put those snacks back to the shelf. (ฉันเอา

Past Tense

วิธีทาใหเ้ ปน็ ประโยคปฏเิ สธ

นอกจาก verb to be ทใี่ ช้ (I, he, she, it) was
not และ (you, we, they) were not แล้ว นอกเหนือจากนัน้
ให้ใช้ did not (หรอื didn’t) ตามด้วย verb ชอ่ งหนง่ึ
– I, he, she, it ใช้ was not (wasn’t) เช่น It wasn’t
Jerry who told lies. (ไมใ่ ช่เจอรร์ ี่หรอกท่ีพดู โกหกนะ่ )
– You, we, they ใช้ were not (weren’t) เชน่ You
weren’t there when I needed you. (เธอไม่ได้อย่กู ับฉนั เวลาท่ี
ฉันตอ้ งการเธอ)
– กรยิ าท่วั ไป เช่น I didn’t meet him at the end.
(สดุ ทา้ ยแล้วฉันไม่ได้เจอเขาหรอก)

วิธีสร้างประโยคคาถาม

1. เอา did ไวห้ น้าสดุ + ประธาน + verb ชอ่ งหน่งึ เสมอ
– Did you find the documents you were looking for? (เธอเจอ
เอกสารทหี่ าอยูห่ รอื เปลา่ )

2. ถ้าขึ้นต้นด้วย who, what, where, when, why ใหเ้ อาพวกน้ีข้นึ กอ่ น
แลว้ ตามด้วย did + ประธาน + verb ช่องหน่ึง เสมอ
– When did you start working here? (เธอเร่มิ ทางานทนี่ ีเ่ มอ่ื ไรหรอ)

3. ถา้ เป็นคาถาม verb to be ใหใ้ ช้ Was หรือ Were ขึน้ ตน้
– Were you here last summer? (ฤดูร้อนทแ่ี ล้วเธออย่ทู นี่ ่หี รอื เปลา่ )

4. ถ้าอยากถามเป็นประโยคปฎเิ สธละ่ ก็ ง่ายๆเลยก็คือใช้วธิ ียอ่ รูป verb แล้ว
ทาตามกฎเดมิ เชน่
– Wasn’t I the only one excluded in that meeting? (ฉนั ไมใ่ ชค่ น
เดยี วท่ีไมต่ ้องเข้าประชมุ ครัง้ นัน้ หรอ)
– Didn’t you find the documents you were looking for? (เธอไม่ได้
เจอเอกสารทเี่ ธอหาอยู่แลว้ หรอ?)
หรอื ถ้าอยากจะไมย่ อ่ รปู ก็เอา not ไปใสไ่ วห้ น้า verb กไ็ ดไ้ มว่ ่ากัน เช่น
– Did you not hear what I said? (เธอไมไ่ ดย้ นิ ที่ฉันพูดหรอ)

ประเภท

Past Tense แบง่ ออกได้เป็น 4 รปู แบบ ได้แก่
1. Past Simple โดยมีโครงสร้างรปู แบบคอื Subject + Verb 2
หรือ Verb เตมิ ed
2. Past Continuous โดยมีโครงสร้างรปู แบบคอื Subject +
was/were + Verb (ing)
3. Past Perfect โดยมีโครงสร้างรูปแบบคือ Subject + had +
Verb 3
4. Past Perfect Continuous โดยมโี ครงสรา้ งรูปแบบคือ Subject
+ had + been + Verb (ing)

Past Simple
Tense

ใช้ในเหตุการณใ์ นอดตี ที่จบไปแลว้ หรือ ใช้บอกใน
เรอ่ื งทีเ่ ป็นกิจวัตรประจาในอดตี หรือเคยไปทไ่ี หนในอดตี มาแล้ว

หลกั การใช้และโครงสรา้ งของ Past Simple Tense

1. ใชก้ ับเรอ่ื งทเี่ กดิ ข้นึ ในอดตี และจบสิ้นลงไป
เรียบร้อยแลว้ สังเกตง่าย ๆ วา่ มักจะมีการระบุชว่ งเวลาไว้ด้วยว่า
เกดิ ขน้ึ เมื่อไหร่ และใชก้ รยิ าชอ่ ง 2

นอกจากน้ีแล้ว Key word บอกเวลาซ่ึงจบไปแลว้ ที่
พบบอ่ ย ๆ ในประโยค Past Simple Tense ไดแ้ ก่
Yesterday, Last , Ago โดยใชร้ ว่ มกบั คาบอกเวลาอ่นื ๆ

ตัวอย่างประโยค :
Ex. They came here yesterday.
(พวกเขามาทนี่ ี่เมอื่ วานนี้)
Ex. He left home ten minutes ago.
(เขาออกจากบา้ นเมื่อ 50 นาทีท่ีแล้ว)
Ex. I bought a new phone two days ago.
(ฉนั ซื้อโทรศัพท์ใหมม่ าเม่ือ 2 วันกอ่ น)

2. ใชพ้ ดู ถงึ นสิ ัยหรอื กจิ วตั รทเ่ี คยทาในอดีต หรอื
การบอกวา่ ใครเคยทาอะไร เคยไปไหนในอดตี มาแลว้ และ
เหตกุ ารณน์ ั้นจบลงแลว้
Ex. We cooked every day last year.
(พวกเราทาอาหารกนั ทกุ วนั เมอ่ื ปีทแี่ ลว้ )
Ex. He always went to office late last month.
(เขาไปสานกั งานสายเสมอเมอื่ เดอื นท่แี ล้ว)
Ex. I was in London in 2017.
(ฉนั อยู่ทลี่ อนดอนในปี 2017)

เป็นประโยคที่กล่าวถึงเหตุการณ์ท่กี าลังเกดิ ขึน้ อยา่ งตอ่ เน่อื งใน
อดีตเสมือนว่าเราน่งั ไทม์แมชชนี ไปจอ้ งมองดเู หตกุ ารณ์ทีก่ าลังเกดิ ขึน้ ใน
อดตี อย่างไรอย่างน้ันเลย

โครงสรา้ งประโยค Past continuous tense

Past continuous tenseใช้เลา่ ถึงเหตุการณใ์ นอดตี ซงึ่ มี

ด้วยกัน 3 แบบ คอื

1. เหตกุ ารณ์ทีก่ าลงั เกดิ ในอดตี เช่น

It was raining yesterday at noon.

(ฝนตกลงมาเมอื่ วานตอนเที่ยง)

2. เหตุการณ์ทกี่ าลังเกดิ ต่อเนือ่ งอยใู่ นอดตี ซ่ึงเกดิ ขึน้ อยกู่ ่อน แลว้ กม็ ีอีก

เหตกุ ารณ์หน่ึงเข้ามาแทรก เชน่

I was having a beautiful dream when the alarm clock rang.

(ฉนั กาลงั ฝันดอี ยู่เชียว นาฬกิ าปลกุ ก็ดนั ดงั ขึ้น)

3. เหตกุ ารณ์กาลงั เกิดไปพร้อม ๆ กนั ในอดีต ไมม่ อี นั ไหนเกดิ กอ่ นเกดิ

หลัง เชน่

While my mom was cooking, my dad was washing his car.

(ขณะท่ีแมก่ าลงั ทาอาหาร พอ่ กก็ าลงั ล้างรถ) 13

การใช้ While, When, As

While, When, as ถอื วา่ เป็น Key word สาคญั ที่บ่งบอกวา่
ประโยคน้ีเป็นประโยค Past continuous tense เลยกว็ า่ ได้
เชน่

- When the police arrived, we were sleeping.
(ตอนทต่ี ารวจมาถึง พวกเรากาลังนอนหลับกนั อย)ู่

- While she was drawing a picture, I came in the
room.
(ขณะที่เธอกาลงั วาดภาพ ผมก็เข้ามาในหอ้ ง )

เทคนคิ การจา

- ประโยคท่อี ย่หู ลงั while และ as ใช้ past continuous
(Subject + was/were +V.ing) เพราะเปน็ เหตกุ ารณ์ท่ียงั จะเกดิ
ต่อเนือ่ งไปอกี ระยะหน่งึ เช่น We were sleeping, The car
was running, She was drawing a picture

- ประโยคท่อี ยูห่ ลงั when ใช้ past simple (Subject + V.2)
เพราะเป็นเหตกุ ารณท์ แี่ ทรกเข้ามาส้ัน ๆ และจบไปแลว้ พูดงา่ ย ๆ
วา่ เกดิ ขน้ึ แปบ๊ เดียว เช่น the police arrived, the phone rang,
I came in the room, it started to rain

Tense

เปน็ ประโยคทีม่ ี 2 เหตุการณเ์ กิดขนึ้ ในอดตี โดย
เหตุการณ์หน่งึ จบลงไปแลว้ จึงเกิดอกี หนึ่งเหตุการณข์ นึ้

เหตุการณแ์ รก ใช้ Past Perfect

เหตุการณ์ท่ี 2 จบลงแลว้ ใช้ Past Simple Tense (Subject +
V.2) โดยมักมีคาเชอ่ื ม เช่น when, beforeระหวา่ ง 2 เหตกุ ารณน์ ้ี

ข้อสงั เกต

เนือ่ งจาก 2 เหตุการณน์ ี้จะเกิดขึ้นในอดตี ในเวลาใกล้เคียงกนั และจดุ เด่นของ

Past Perfect Tense คือใชเ้ ล่าถงึ เหตุการณห์ น่ึงซึ่งจบไปแล้วอกี เหตุการณ์จงึ ค่อย

เกิดขึน้ ดงั นน้ั เราจึงมักพบคาเช่ือมประโยค เช่น after, already, just, yet,

การใช้งาน : อยา่ งท่บี อกไปตอนแรกวา่ เราใช้ Past Perfect Continuousกับ
เหตุการณแ์ รกทเ่ี กิดข้นึ และต้องการเนน้ ให้เหน็ ความตอ่ เนือ่ งของเหตกุ ารณ์นัน้ ท่ี
ไดด้ าเนนิ มาเร่อื ย ๆ ในอดตี
ข้อสังเกต : ในประโยค Past Perfect Continuous มักจะมคี าท่บี อกถึงชว่ ง
