ASSOCIATION over 75 years of
OVERVIEW
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

The Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB), a trade
association affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders and the
Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Massachusetts, has represented
the industry since 1944.

The Association has hundreds of members that include small, moderate, and
large volume builders, who construct single-family, multi-family, and commercial
properties, and remodeling contractors, who do projects ranging from kitchens
and baths to full house renovation. Associate members represent property
management professionals, sales and marketing individuals and firms, suppliers,
retail and wholesale dealers, architects, engineers, land planners, attorneys,
accountants, financial institutions, and real estate.

Members can improve their professional skills and expertise and increase their
value to the association through outstanding educational programs.

Opportunities for participation and recognition are many – industry credentials,
certification, annual awards program, committees and councils. Members can
elect to join the NAHB’s 20 Clubs to share their wisdom and learn from each other
ways to improve their operations and increase their bottom lines. Members are
encouraged to enter local and national award competitions that recognize their
commitment to excellence.

There is also a social side to membership. Each year the association hosts a ski
trip, Boston sports events and a golf outing for members and their guests. These
tremendously popular events are great opportunities to highlight your products
and services.

CRITICAL NEWS & INFORMATION CRITICAL NEWS
In the ever-changing home building industry, staying abreast of new trends and issues
is the best way to keep your company competitive. BRAGB offers members access
to the latest industry news through our website, regular member meetings, seminars,
special interest councils, publications, and reports.

BAYSTATE BUILDER PUBLICATION
The Bay State Builder (HBRAMA’s quarterly magazine) is available to all BRAGB
members. A recent edition of Bay State Builder featured two articles about, or written
by BRAGB members:

An article on Landmark Associates’ restoration of the
historic Old Reading School House condos, which were
badly damaged by fire and water in June, 2017.

An article from Emerson Clauss III, President of
Allegiance Construction & Development, on
unintended consequences of proposed legislation that
would mandate solar power on all new commercial and
residential buildings in the Commonwealth of MA.

Other articles of interest to BRAGB members include
an article from Massachusetts Secretary of Housing
and Economic Development Mike Kennealy on how
increasing housing production can help address the
state’s affordable housing problem; and an article from HBRAMA counsel Benjamin
Fierro III on the legality of building permit moratoriums. Our members have a chance
to make their voice known throughout the industry by submitting editorial and valuable
content to the Bay State Builder Magazine.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Careers in Construction Massachusetts is a BRAGB workforce development initiative.
The program is designed to help Massachusetts based traditional high schools launch
trades programs. The program either facilitates or directly supports finding the funds,
acquiring the tools, sourcing the materials and attaining the curriculum for high school
administrators, instructions and students who are interested in a trades career.

BRAGB garners support for Careers in Construction through fund raising activities,
member sponsorships and Sustaining Builder contributions.
