ENERGETICS HYPERION-500 NEW

Series H-500 modular platform operating in the Ethernet L2/L3 network layer, used for the purposes of encryption
and redundant, time-synchronised Ethernet data transfer, dedicated for the power industry – Smart-Metering/
Grid.

The solution includes implemented advanced IEEE 1588-2008v.2 and PTPv3 protocols for precise time broadcast
over Ethernet with accuracy up to 50 ns, e.g. from an in-built or external GPS module with PoE power supply.
This allows the detection the source of an energy grid anomaly registered e.g. by synchrophasers, which results
in shorter repair times and often possibility of remedying a defect before a malfunction occurs. Furthermore,
synchronous Ethernet facilitates the process of synchronization and eliminates frame loss due to sending data
with the same clock they are received with.
Redundancy mechanisms in accordance with the ITU-T G.8032 standard (ring < 20ms) and the installed lossless
transmission module - Redbox HSR/PRP (ring = 0ms), ensure maximum security, even in the event of damage to
the transmission path.

Security is paramount, which is why encrypted transmission has been implemented both in the case of SNMPv3,
SSH, Https, IEEE802.1x, Radius, Tacacs+, and AAA management, and data transfer based on MACsec 256bit AES
as such.

The electric Ethernet PoE÷PoE++ module with watchdog PoE is capable of providing power supply to peripheral
devices, e.g.: cameras, drivers, or GPS, while ITU-T K.44 – 4kV 10/700us port security provides protection against
impulse wave overvoltage.

Data transfer for Smart Grid/Smart Metering

MAGNETAR-105 is a router facilitating access to and sharing of broadband 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE networks. The
router allows access to devices locally connected to LAN interfaces and RS232/485/422 ports. Additionally, the
router is equipped with input/output solutions and support for advanced diagnostic functionalities. The GSM/
WiFi/Zigbee/Bluetooth port may serve as a redundant connection for the optical fibre or be used autonomously.
The supported routing protocols include RIP and OSFP. The in-built GRE and IPsec protocols facilitate the creation
of a secure local network based on GSM provider services.

ENERGETICS IP and serial transmission over Ethernet

ORION is a serial server 2x RS-232/485/422 (screw port) intended for conversion of serial signals to Ethernet
transmissions. Depending on the version, the device offers up to 2x RJ45,Ethernet and 2x FO/SFP,SC,Ethernet.
Both local and line Ethernet ports are available which can serve as protection (<50ms) under a ring topology.

Additional functionalities include alarm-relay output providing necessary information to the operators in the
event of grid failure or damage to the device itself. Moreover, depending on the option selected, the device
includes a builtin low voltage 48V DC PSU as well as 220V DC (power engineering) and 230V AC PSU.

The available functionalities of the ORION device facilitate a wide range of applications not only in communications,

CERBERUS NEW

CERBERUS-1000D is a double device managed by a fibre-optic Ethernet converter with the 10/100/1000Mbps
bitrate via an electric UTP interface and RJ-45 connection and 100/1000 Mbps via an optical interface with an
exchangeable SFP transceiver connection. The converter is capable of traffic encryption and decryption with the
use of a MACSec 128 bit AES algorithm. Keys may be input manually via the device’s interface or with the use of
Radius, IEEE802.1x authentication mechanisms.
The device can work as an Ethernet switch working in the “store and forward” mode with VLAN and traffic priority
mechanisms support. Each converter comprises fully independent hardware with a dedicated operating system,
IP address, and management interface. The management interface operates at 10/100 Mbps and is available via
an RJ-45 connection. CERBERUS-1000D offers optional support for the IEEE1588 PTPv2 protocol and IEEE C37.238-
2011, IEC 61850-9-3 energy industry standards to ensure precise time synchronisation for applications with high

Wind farms require reliable communication between meters and PLC/RTU modules installed on turbines on
the one hand, and SCADA application on the other, with additional transfer from IP cameras installed at the

Power line protection

BS-MX-110 is a fibre-optic multiplexer with eight I/O interfaces and an RS-232/RS-485/422 interface. The device
supports various connection topologies including point-to-point, bus and ring. Configuration of four parametric
inputs allows trip level thresholds of 12V, 24V, 48V, 110V, 125V, 220V, and 250V.

Each analogue BS-MX-110 output includes two NC and NO contacts. Outputs are tripped by activation of appropriate
inputs of devices operating on the bus or ring with suitably configured addressing. The inputs provide the additional

SETEBOS-2S NEW

SETEBOS-2S is a device whose primary functionality is to serve as a control and monitoring console facilitating
the control and supervision of facilities, and registering environmental parameters such as temperature and
humidity. Additionally, the dedicated inputs allow the sequestration of events such as facility breach, flooding,
etc. Furthermore, the device facilitates remote control of devices installed inside the monitored facility via two
“relay contact” outputs. RS232/485/422 interfaces allow communication with external devices via Etehrnet/IP or
the connection of two peripherals or devices expanding the solution’s measurement or monitoring functionality.
The serial interface may also be fitted with additional external modules allowing further expansion of the device’s
functionality. SETEBOS-2S may be equipped with a wide range of wireless communication interfaces to allow
control and monitoring of facility elements without cable connections, as well as communication with mobile
user devices (cell phone, tablet, etc.) with the provided management application installed.

INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION Synchronisation methods in Ethernet networks

for the purposes of remote surveillance systems, monitoring and power grid control
using Hyperion switches

The currently prevalent concept in developing data transmission networks for power grid systems most commonly
relies on Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) or Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH) technologies, i.e. solutions
which naturally provide data transparency as well as synchronisation (clock) transference between any two grid
terminals. However, that approach is beginning to change with the migration of networks from time division
multiplexing and towards homogeneous communication systems based on Ethernet technologies.

By default, such networks were originally asynchronous, which meant that they provided fast and cost-efficient
data transfer but also entailed complete structural asynchronicity. Meanwhile, as power grid systems require
synchronisation of terminal elements for the purposes of monitoring, supervision and control, this quality of
the solution put it at a significant disadvantage. Therefore, as could be expected, the technology was further
developed to include synchronisation functionalities such as clock signal transference, i.e. clock recovery and
transfer via Ethernet nodes, as illustrated in Figure 1. This functionality is known as Synchronous Ethernet and is
supported by e.g. our Hyperion 300 / 400 devices.

Other mechanisms which facilitate precise (as required in power grid systems) terminal synchronisation over
Ethernet networks include Time Protocol solutions, i.e. NTP (Network Time Protocol), PTP (IEEE 1588 - Precision
Time Protocol) and its updated iteration PTP v.2. Actual, recoverable precision time synchronisation takes,
respectively,1-10ms for NTP, 1-100us for PTP and under 1us for PTP v.2.

The protocols are supported by Hyperion 300, 400 and 105 devices which allow NTP/PTP v.2 conversion to support
flexible migration of synchronisation techniques within the network, between devices supporting NTP and the
newer, more precise PTPv.2 protocols.

The PTPv.2 protocol is typically used in synchrophase applications based on IEEE Std C37.118.1”-2011 and IEEE

BTnet application for the management of networks of Bitstream devices and other manufacturer’s solutions
supporting the SNMP standard (Simple-Network-Management-Protocol) and alternatively LLDP (Link-Layer-
Discovery-Protocol) for automatic visualisation of elements and their connections. The system includes a range
of in-built services, including automatic firmware ftp upgrade or diagnostics, e.g. ping, telnet, device search by
IP, visualisation against map data and readout parameters, e.g. temperature in a function of time.
Device for scanning firmware version on devices to generate a backup configuration report based on a set
