Some problems caused by the roof leakage
• Slip and fall Hazards
• Health Concerns (Caused by Molds)
• Fire Hazard
• Interior Mold and mildew issues
• Higher utility bills and wasted energy
• Uncomforting situations for devotees Specially during celebrations and special poojas
1. Exterior Walls
1.1 Face-Sealed EIFIS with High Exposure 1.4Large Unsealed Penetrations
The EIFIS configuration (exterior insulation and finish There are two large unsealed penetrations; one above
system) on the Raja Gopuram is not consistent with a vent grille on the west elevation and one for a steel

1.5 Efflorescence (A Whitish crystalline deposit on surfaces)
1.2 Cracks in EIFIS
At several locations, there is efflorescence on the soffits
There are cracks in both the vertical and non-vertical above the windows. This indicates that there is water

are particularly prone to leakage. The crack length
and width varies, from hairline to approximately two 1.6 Peeling Finish Coat
millimetres. These cracks provide direct path to water
ingress. The finish coat of the EIFIS is peeling off at several
locations, exposing the EIFIS base coat. This likely
1.3 Areas Prone to Water Ponding resulted from the EIFIS being installed in cold weather
and not drying before freezing.
There are decorative EIFIS elements that block water
from shedding off the sloped EIFIS surfaces. Water
collecting at the base of these elements will worsen and
potentially infiltrate the EIFIS and supporting substrate.
2. Windows and Vent Grilles
2.1 Missing/Poor Sealing around the Windows 2.2 Operable Windows

sealant is present, it is inconsistent in thickness and is
poorly adhered. The clear plastic skylight units were
originally glazed with dry gasket seals. A wet seal has
been retrofitted between the metal skylight and the ridge

water to enter the building.
