GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM A SCIENCE CLASS.

BEPOW SO HANN!
Greetings to all from the 3A Science Class of 1997. What a blessing to live to see this
day. After 25 years of completing school to embark on various journeys in life; we
return to pay homage to our dear school.

We commend AOGA '97 on this glorious 25th anniversary celebration and acknowl-
edge their immense support towards Aburi Girls Senior High School. We are indeed
proud to have been part of this great institution from which we gained excellent edu-
cation and quality upbringing.

While at school, we truly emulated Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s words “The heights
by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while
their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.” We toiled individually but we
also toiled collaboratively. We served and encouraged each other through various
ways.

The kindness, collaboration, service, hard work, dedication and commitment we ap-
plied to our studies, were the same efforts we used to succeed in our careers and per-
sonal lives. We have matured into disciplined, knowledgeable, and wise women,
equipped to embark on the next chapter of our lives.

GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM B CLASS

The bond of the B class transcends beyond the walls of our classroom. Beyond
Home Economics and Visual Arts. Thankfully, we’re back to commemorate and
say thank you to our alma mater and most especially to God. We owe our
moulding to all the teachers and our mates as well as our seniors. We made
life-long friends and family. For those who have gone ahead in glory, they will
forever remain in our hearts. Happy anniversary girls and let’s keep making
mother Abugiss proud. We remain Bepow So Hann,….

GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM C CLASS (GENERAL ARTS)

Our school is built on a hill
Bepow so hann is our motto
We are always victorious
Cos we work in God`s name
O Aburi Girls
O Aburi Girls
O Aburi mighty eagles
We shall never lose our fame

We sang our school anthem with pride 25 years ago when we were enrolled as stu-
dents in this prestigious institution. After 25 years, we still hold this school in high
esteem and will always sing the school anthem with utmost honour.

During our time at Aburi Girls, we might have been oblivious to the fact that whatever
educational training and discipline we were receiving was preparing us to be influ-
encers and leaders in our spheres of function, be it academia, politics, law, medicine,
sciences, entrepreneurship, government or finance, just to name a few. And I must
say it was worth it. The disciplinary measures we were put through as well as teach-
ers` efforts in ensuring that we excelled in academics have been of immense help to
us in our present endeavours. Residing in our various dormitories and learning
together in the classrooms helped us form friendships, with some still going strong till
date. Learning to live with other girls taught us the importance of teamwork, a valued
competency in the field of work.

Our theme: The Phases of Diamond-Silver Jubilee: The Role of Resilient Educational
Institutions in National Development` sums up the changing phases of education and
its adaptability to an ever-changing society. Spencer Johnson, the author of
“Who moved my cheese”, ` said “if you do not change, you can become extinct”.
It is our joy to see that Aburi Girls Senior High School, resilient in its quest for academic
excellence, is also adapting in its academics to raise women leaders who will be rele-
vant to society. Courses such as IT have been introduced in keeping abreast with
time.
As a highly esteemed institution, the school continues to raise global leaders and
achievers. The next 25 years will definitely present more challenging problems to be
solved and Aburi Girls is poised to remain resilient in academics as well as adaptable
to finding solutions to various societal needs.
May we continue to aspire in higher heights and shine as the beacons we are: the
light on the hill that cannot be hidden.

GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM THE D CLASS OF 1997

Congratulations from the 3D class to Abugiss 1997-year group on the occasion
of our 25th anniversary since leaving Aburi Girls’ Secondary School. The impact
we continue to make in society attests to the quality of education we received
and our individual desires to live up to our motto to continue to be ‘The light on
Hill’. We shine forth, we are bold and true to our calling as beacons.

We commend the choice of theme The Phases of Diamond- Silver Jubilees –
the role of resilient educational institutions in national development As a
group, our collective and individual achievements demonstrate the impor-
tance of education in nation building. We are making our mark and leaving
legacies everywhere we find ourselves. Indeed, we are a true reflection of the
saying that ‘ The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the
philosophy of government in the next’ (Abraham Lincoln). We use the occasion
to renew our individual commitments to improving the world, through passion,
dedication, and selflessness.

May we continue to aspire to greater heights and continue to shine!

BEPOW SO HANN!

GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM THE E GIRLS OF 1997

In January 1995, a group of starry-eyed young girls entered the main compound of
the Aburi Girls Secondary School. We bubbled with excitement as we went through
the various arrival formalities the school had communicated to parents. As we
took in the sights of our new environment, we were also blown away by the smartly
dressed seniors, yet intimidated by the sea of unfamiliar faces.

As we were shown to our individual houses and dormitories, and our parents left
we knew this was the beginning of an amazing journey of acquiring knowledge
and embracing adulthood. For the 47 of us who were placed in the E class ,
this was the beginning of an incredible bond of sisterhood.

In this school, we internalize the Presbyterian values of humility, service to God, and
integrity. We made friends who have stayed with us for life and we also got a head
start on our various careers. Our individual experiences in Aburi Girls have helped
to shape us into the women we are today.

From fetching water at "cocoa ase" and other water sources for the pantry and
our seniors we learnt to be resilient.
From combining our studies with the various commitments we had to fulfil we
learnt to persevere.
From embracing the different challenges that came our way we learnt to be
resolute.

So on the occasion of the 76th Anniversary of the School as well as the 25th
anniversary of leaving the school, we feel privileged for the opportunity to have
been part of this school and its history.

To the younger ones, embrace the values that have defined the school from its
inception 76 years ago. Strive for excellence above everything else, learn to serve
with humility and with integrity you will stand tall where ever you find yourself.

God bless us all.

GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM THE F GIRLS OF 1997

As we celebrate 25yrs since we left these walls of Aburi Girls, we look back with
pride that resilient, hardworking, gracious women of society we have become.
The training, teaching, emotional, physical and psychological support we had
some 25yrs ago, some pleasant, some not so pleasant at the time
(as young girls we didn't like nor agree with it) have however been our strength
to survive this competitive and challenging world. We appreciate all the
members of staff - teaching, non-teaching, pastoral staff (some of blessed
memory) who helped mould us into responsible adults. The memories we hold
of our time during 1995-1997 brings smiles on our faces as we reminisce about
the days and times. We feel that without their efforts our foundation would
have cracks in it.
Thank you and Bepow So Hann.
