The process beginswith preliminary treatment, where large solids, debris,and grit are removed using screens and grit chambers.This is followed by primary treatment, wherewastewater is held in tanks to allow suspended solidsand oil or grease to settle out. These initial steps helpreduce the load on further treatment processes.In the next stages, secondary or biological treatment uses microorganisms to break down organic matter, reducingBOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand). After this, tertiary treatment furtherpurifies the water through advanced filtration & chemical processes to remove remaining impurities, color, &pathogens. Finally, the sludge collected during treatment is processed separately, where it is dewatered and eithersafely disposed of or reused, ensuring environmentally responsible waste management.
