MESSAGE DEAN'S WELCOME Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Marzuki Wan Jaafar Dean, Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia these changes. Hence, I am very proud to acknowledge the collective efforts of our campus community in supporting educational transformation and innovation through their active participation in this Innovation Showcase. The pursuit of knowledge has been an ongoing endeavour since the dawn of time. However, the true value of knowledge emerges when it is shared and applied for the betterment of humanity. The Innovation Showcase 2023 provides universities, research institutions, and industries a platform to promote and exchange innovative ideas. Its primary aim is to inspire intellectual discussions, foster dialogue on new research findings, and present practical applications derived from research outputs. In the spirit of "Malaysia Madani", which embraces innovation as one of its core values, this showcase fosters innovations from diverse pedagogical strategies and approaches. It allows all participants to learn from one another, enrich themselves with new knowledge and experiences, and establish mutually beneficial relationships. Finally, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the dedicated organizing committee, Putra Future Classroom, for their outstanding efforts in successfully hosting this remarkable program. The Innovation Showcase @ PFC 2023 program is organized to promote a culture of innovation among the faculty members (students, lecturers, and staff), the university, and the community. In line with one of Malaysia MADANI's core values, innovation, our goal is to cultivate creativity among the people and transform the tendency of our Malaysian nation from mere consumers to active contributors shaping the digital and technological revolution that is changing the world. The highest appreciation must be given to all participants of the Innovation Showcase @ PFC 2023, whether from the Innovation Competition, Robotic Competition, E-Sports Fiesta, Innovative Talk, Innovative Workshop, student exhibitions, industry exhibitions, Pasar Gembira, Beauty Spa, or Mini Career Fair. This year, the participants consist of students from the Faculty of Educational Studies, other faculties in UPM, external higher education institutions, schools, the Malaysian Armed Forces, the surrounding community, and international participants. It is hoped that all those involved will benefit from the organization of this program. INNOVATION SHOWCASE @ PFC 2023 is a platform that brings together events and activities related to innovation across disciplines, specializing in education and focusing on educators, students, researchers, scholars and innovators. In addition to educating innovative minds, this program aims at enlivening the culture of innovation and exposing the opportunities of commercialization of innovation products as well as potential interfaculty collaborations, and with the industry and society. The Innovation Showcase is a yearly event that started in 2015, and has since up-scaled to a faculty and university level event. This full day carnival is held on June 8, 2023 at the Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia. The objectives of Innovation Showcase @ PFC 2023 are to: INNOVATION SHOWCASE ABOUT

Page 6 INNOVATION COMPETITION EVENT #1: An event for educators, students, scholars, researchers, and inventors, to showcase their projects and stand a chance to win medals. Participants will exhibit their projects through poster sessions and/or exhibition booths. Researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, school teachers and students, and scholars from all fields and backgrounds are welcome to participate. E-SPORTS FIESTA EVENT #2: This mobile phone app game-based competition requires participants to attack the opponent and at the same time defend their tower. Participants will play in groups with other participants in the designated digital arena. Participants can highlight their talent in planning strategy, tactics and team advantages in ensuring that the team's objectives can be successfully achieved. This mobile phone application game can train and improve participants' leadership, creativity and problem-solving skills while also acquiring accurate and fast digitalization knowledge and skills in critical situations.
Page 7 ROBOTIC COMPETITION EVENT #3: This technology-based competition requires one team to defend their flag, while the other team to attack and drop the flag in a confined arena with obstacles The team who can drop the flag in three consecutive attempts and with the shortest duration will be considered as the winner Students can showcase their talent in cultivating creativity by designing their own robots for the competition. They can acquire new knowledge in areas such as programming, electronics, welding, and graphic design through design and technology. Furthermore, students can enhance their problem solving skills through this engaging and challenging competition. INNOVATIVE TALK EVENT #4: Innovative Talk @ Innovation Showcase is inspired by TED Talk. We invite distinguished speakers to deliver concise, impactful talks on specially curated topics to ignite your innovative spirit. Our speakers come from various professional backgrounds, unified by a common trait – their passion and significant contribution to innovative practices. They will also share insights and key tips on getting your creative juices flowing and championing innovative practices.
Page 8 INNOVATIVE WORKSHOP EVENT #5: This workshop includes learning innovation, product innovation and career fairs to increase students' mastery of the topic. The product innovation workshop will expose the process of innovating a product and will be delivered by a special guest speaker. There is also a career fair for students’ exposure. It is expected to benefit teachers, prospective teachers, and school students. All activities are to provide exposure to innovations and inspire an innovative culture among students.
