While technology is taking us into a vast ocean of on the spot information, and while all

have equal opportunity to be a media personnel engaging and expressing through the social
media, somehow the credibility of the reporting is eroding gradually. We are proud to present
the fact that Indo American Press Club is the dedicated team of renowned journalists, media
professional and ardent promoters of ethical communication, who's taken upon this life to
reinstate the credibility and true journalism for the betterment of the community with innova-
tive plans of educating and molding a new generation journalists .

At this juncture, the Indo American Press Club is organizing its Third International Media
Conference at at Hilton Stamford Hotel & Executive Meeting Center, Stamford, Connecticut,
USA during Oct 8-10th, 2016. Many of the identified journalists from mainstream media's,
operational from India and other countries are arriving for sharing their challenges and the
influx of time decisive strategies in the media industry to the participants. We are recognizing
some of the dedicated journalists for their passion to adhere to true journalism during the last
few decades. Our social responsibility to encourage and recognize social activists is being this
year with our prestigious SathKarma Award being presented to Theruvoram Murugan from
Kochi, India

I take pride in my association with a large array of journalists and media professional, and in
our conjoint efforts to bolster and encourage professional affinity and citizen journalism. The
future of the IAPC is bright and strong in the hands of the dedicated team with the endowment
of the sense of social commitment. Little to least does it instigate doubt upon our tall walk into
the main stream journalism with the level of achievements we have reaped so far. The vivacity of
our activities are rendered and promoted through chapters in an attempt to create a resonance
in each communities they serve towards. We eagerly look forward to further the perception of
social obligation and inculcate a trait to 'act and react'.

The Cyber Age has far out-stretched the limits of the 'Sky'. IAPC has rekindled the passion by
providing a platform for many to modify the modern media outlook. Streamlining our efforts
and time with the zeal and fervor we take the initiative to make the community a better place to

share with.

Our Editorial Board is expressing our fathomless grati-
tude and thanks to our patrons, guests. benefactors,
friends, sponsors, our fellow members , advertisers and
the contributors of articles to deliver this IAPC Souvenir

Four years since the conceptualization and formation , three Inter-

national Media Conferences to define pride and the installation of Eight
Chapters in two countries, Indo American Press Club has enough to leave
footprints in the sands of time. A walk together as a team, bridging the

gaps of diversities in thought, and, unified under the banner of Indo American Press club, I am
duly inclined to thank every one of our members for their contribution towards the cause of our
organization. Like any healthy functional organizations, ours stand not any disparate, where the
unity of workflow defines our success manifest. They manured our banner with dedication, com-
mitment and willpower without which we would have wilted and withered through the seasons of
hardships and trifles in the early days of inception.

Our commitment does not get arrested within the confines of the organizations, its members
and the beneficiaries. Beyond the scope of emancipation of the members through a profession-
ally articulated schema, we have staunchly extended hands out to the needs of any Indian-
American journalists not affiliated with us whomsoever, whatsoever. An engaging, eventful and
productively resourceful air of sustenance for passion to contribute get heard, has been the
vision of this organization, that's the resonance we pitch. Stagnated water stinks with passage of
time while life nourishes in the enrichment of cleaner flowing water.

Life in the world in reciprocal. It is righteous and ethical to acknowledging and recognize the
ones who have taken their opportunity to earn us our time on the podium, entitle us with an
honor and give us a reason to identify our intellectual capacity. A little bit of giving back goes a
long way. Media is not self sustaining, Indo American Press Club too takes the opportunity to
thank all patrons, sponsors, affiliates, dignified guests and its members for the undeterred sup-
port till date.

The success and vitality of the organization is in our unity. Let's all take a stance of a lifetime,
like always, to see through this conference, with the vigor, the passion, the focus, the mind and
the support to make it a milestone in our journey towards days better. Looking forward to all
support and participation from all for all our future endeavors.

Dear Friends,

In an era of increasing inundation of information, misinformation and opinion with obvious
biases, more so in the social media, the importance of good old objective journalism has never
been felt more. Citizen journalists are ok to an extent, but trained and experienced media people
are needed more today than ever before. That is true of mainstream media in USA, India or
anywhere in the world.

The ethnic media, Indian American media in particular, has challenges all their own. Limited
resources and reach makes them vulnerable to outer influences, often forced to take sides in the
issues affecting the community. English language media for the Indian community here in the
US and Canada may be faring a bit better. But the dwindling ad revenues post-2007 meltdown,
worsened by increasing shift of public to the Net, has affected us all, right up to The New York
Times.

Enter the Indo-American Press Club (IAPC). It was conceived and formed as a non-profit by
a few like-minded people about three years ago with the lofty ideal of providing a common
platform to media people of Indian origin living in North America. Its multi-pronged objectives:
to foster closer bonds and cooperation among the professionals in the field who are committed
to the well-being of society at large; to enhance the working conditions of our media people
and members; exchanging ideas and offering educational and training opportunities to our
members and to aspiring journalists around the globe; and lastly to honor media people for
excellence in their fields and others who have brought about positive change through their
service to society and work among the community.

IAPC has grown by leaps and bounds in the last three years. The membership has steadily
grown and the number of chapters multiplied. We have had two successful media conferences
(in New Jersey - 2014 and New York- 2015), and the third International Media Conference sched-
uled for Hilton Stamford Hotel, Connecticut USA promised to be another feature in the cap of
IAPC.

A sure sign of the increasing reach and clout of IAPC – not only in the Indian community but
also the mainstream – was seen when the Houston chapter organized a highly successful Presi-
dential Debate (with high placed representatives from the Democratic and Republican parties as
well as other commentators) on September 11 at the Stafford Civic Center, attended by a few
hundred people and covered by the Indian and mainstream media.

I have been fortunate and proud to be associated with IAPC and
am grateful to the IAPC Chairman Mr Ginsmon Zacharia, the Board
of Directors and the past Executive Committee for inducting me as
President of the Press Club and for their cooperation.

I also commend Mr Mathew Joys for leading the editorial team
to produce this impressive Souvenir marking IAPC’s 3rd media con-
ference.

Message

Dear Friends in IAPC,

I am happy to be a part of this great fraternity of media related persons, journalists and
writers.

Indo American Press Club (IAPC) is formed with a lofty ideal of forming a common platform
for journalists, media persons and writers in USA and Canada and for fostering a close
binding among the journalists and media persons around the world. International Media
Conference organized by IAPC is one of the opportunities to interact with media persons
from different corners of the world and to build a close relationship with such persons for
communicating our ideas and sharing our thoughts.

Some of the members who joined IAPC think: “Howam I benefitted by joining IAPC?”. This
kind of thought comes into our mind due to the domination of one sort of ‘selfishness’ in
us.Instead, if we think, “How I can contribute for the benefit of IAPC?”, then we will get
the result to the first thought. If we get involved ourselves in the organization activities,
put our efforts and time for it, then we will learn a lot how to become a real leader. This
will improve our personality and self-confidence to thrive us to succeed in our life.

IAPC is a great platform to develop ourselves by getting in touch with many leaders in
different fields of life and thereby foster friendship and relationship with prominent
persons in the community.I wish all success for the future programs of IAPC and for the
International Media Conference.

Let us work together to make difference in the community through IAPC and get benefit
out of it.

Sincerely yours,

(MATHEWKUTTY EASOW)
