Forgenerations, the people of Langkawi have reliedon sea cucumbers for their purported medicinalproperties, but over-fishing has taken a toll ontheir numbers and on the marine ecosystem as awhole.“Sea cucumbers play a vital role in keepingthe ocean floor clean. They feed on organicmatter and help filter the seabed, maintaining ahealthy environment for other marine creatures,”explains Fadzli, the Resort Ambassador ofEnvironment and Sustainability.Together with Juju, the resort’s otherMarine Biologist, Fadzli leads the Eco-DiscoveryCenter, where guests can explore this oftenoverlooked marine marvel during the SeaCucumber Talk.
