Eastern Illinois University
Eastern at 101: Better than Ever
While much at Eastern has changed since Business students abound at Lumpkin Hall, one ofthe newest buildings on campus. It's south ofBooth
Library, between Kiehm and Coleman Halls.
you were here, many traditions remain.
Class size is still relatively small. Profes
sors continue to give top priority to teaching.
Most students arrive straight out of high
school and live on or close to campus. Tu
ition, though higher than when you paid it,
remains quite reasonable. And the quad still
atrtcats hundreds of co-eds on warm, sunny
days.
But there are changes. Walk around cam
pus today and you'll see a more culturalyl
diverse student body. (Administrators have
pledged to further increase it, too.) You'll see
new buildings, like Lumpkin Hall for busi
ness students and Greek Court, providing fra
ternity and sorority housing. You'll see a new
student recreation center and more comput
ers and computer labs than ever before.
Want to "see" more? Turn to pages four
and five for "snapshots" ofwhat's happening
at EIU today. Better yet, come back to cam
pus and visit. Homecoming is October 27
and 28, but you're welcome anytime. Start
your tour at the Alumni Office at Linder
House, 1544 Fourth Street. Have a cup of
coffee, browse through old Warblers, then
head off to explore with a new map of cam
pus.
