had skin peels and Collagen injections.
Today, we are in the midst of an evolu-

Patients want to look both younger and
better with minimal to no downtime
and that has driven the field in a truly
free market fashion. Entry-level inter-

lasers, a variety of fillers and botulinum
toxin injections are commonplace and
no longer viewed with curiosity. Patients
present with clear expectations of

4 WEALTH MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES FOR
BUSINESS OWNERS AND THE HIGH-NETWORTH

anaging Wealth is an ad-

strategies. It is an all-encompassing form of
planning, done holistically, unique to each
client’s goals AND values, concerns, the eco-
nomic environment, the client’s profession
and protecting from potential liabilities.
Strategy 1: A case for a team of
specialists
In medicine we have long known that
the best possible outcome for the patient’s
health is to enlist a team of specialists, the
experts in their field. The same could be
said for financial health! Consider having

An excellent team may help you nurture
your success, mitigate your loss, mistakes

a larger portion of every dollar you make,
pay as little in tax as the law allows and that
your money works as hard for you as you
did, to get it. Collaboration is a key to suc-
cess. Are your advisors talking to one an-
other? Are they all on your team, working
for the best possible outcome?
Strategy 2: Asset Protection
Litigation attorneys are in big business!
And with a great deal of offense out there,
what kind of defensive planning have you
done? Merely being wealthy and visible,
owning and driving a car, owning real
properties, having employees or serving
on a charitable board puts a target on you.
Sound defense involves the proper titling
and compartmentalization of assets into
acceptable and easily manageable units of
risk. It’s easier than it sounds, yet may re-
quire experienced guidance to accomplish.
The mantras Ike Devji, JD* and his team
teach clients are simple:

to protect your assets from a lawsuit today,”
Devji explains.

He cautions that there are many dif-
ferent forms of trusts that are specialized
tools meant to do different things. “It’s vital
that you understand exactly what you trust
does and does not do and if it is ‘revocable’
or ‘irrevocable’, as just one of dozens of de-
tails to be addressed, the latter being com-
monly used for asset protection.”

So, the question is: with so many ap-
parent liabilities qualifying a person as
susceptible or an easy target to lawsuits,
why doesn’t everyone take advantage of
asset protection? The answer is two-fold:
first, most people aren’t aware of the need
or existence of such a thing, until it’s too
late. Secondly, many people, even those
with qualified financial advisors, are un-
der the misconception that the umbrella
insurance they carry is enough. For a more
extensive explanation of who and when as-
set protection is necessary, read Devji’s ar-
ticle, Common Fatal Flaws of Asset Protec-
tion Planning https://www.linkedin.com/

ning.

“Essentially it boils down to the fact, that
we as Americans are often crisis manag-
ers rather than proactive planners,” Devji
notes. “All you have to do is look at statis-
tics of how many people consistently visit
their dentist twice a year for check-ups,
and how many wait until they’re in pain.
It’s the same mindset. The trouble is, with-
out adequate asset protection planning, an
entire lifetime of earnings can be lost virtu-
ally overnight. Many of the people we work
with have already worked a lifetime to get
where they are and can’t do it again. Others
beat the odds and have great success at a
young age, or are on their way there. Not
matter the circumstances, I want to help
them use the law and my experience with
others to help them reach and keep that
success.”

Four VITAL Questions to Ask Yourself

1. Have you proactively identiied and managed the all
the professional and personal risks you can with the help of
experienced legal counsel?

2. If you lost what you have today, or some signiicant por-
tion of it, are you at an age, earning level and nancial condi-
tion that will allow you to maintain your family’s goals and

xed expenses?

3. Do you have assets that would be difficult or impossible
to replace given your current income, age, health and eco-
nomic conditions?

4. Are you nancially and legally prepared for a lawsuit
that is either uncovered by any liability insurance or which
often produces verdicts above the limits you are carrying? If
you are not comfortable with your answers, it’s time to take
responsibility and action for your nancial future TODAY. The
only effective, legal and predictable way to help you is to act
before a crisis occurs.

This planning goes far beyond what traditional estate and nancial planning alone can achieve and helps proactively identify and
manage risks and gives you the legal tools required to add predictability and peace of mind to your success.

Call today to see how your wealth can be preserved; it’s a simple process that will
identify your exposures and provide the straightforward answers you and your
family need.
