YARDS 436 — PAR 4 HOLE 1

Opening tee shot is demanding as it’s
protected by trees both right and left off of
the tee box and a fairway bunker left and
penalty area to the right. From the fairway
you can attack most hole locations on
this green but long to a back hole
location can prove costly.

YARDS 565 — PAR 5

Only the very long hitter will be able to
attack this par 5 in two. Most will lay up
to the 120 yard area on the left side of the HOLE 2
fairway. An accurate wedge can produce
birdie but a missed green will make for
a very challenging up and down.

YARDS 484 — PAR 4

An accurate tee shot on this dogleg left will
be rewarded with a good look and an iron
to the green. The hole location on the green
will influence the scoring as the front right
will give players a green light to make a low
number while a left hole location may
cause a more difficult approach shot.

YARDS 187 — PAR 3
The shortest par 3 at The Point certainly
does not mean the easiest and the wind can HOLE 4
play a major factor. The approach to this
well guarded green with bunkers requires a
very accurate iron shot based on the hole
location. Hitting the green does not
equate to par or better as there is plenty
of movement throughout the green and
being on the wrong side of the hole
will challenge the best of putters.

YARDS 373 — PAR 4

A sweeping, tree-lined par 4 with OB down
the right side requires the player to decide
to be aggressive and bend the tee shot

from right to left and put a wedge in
their hand or lay back to the 150 at the
corner of the dogleg. A front hole
location brings the greenside bunkers
into play. Keep your ball below the hole!

A straight away par 4 guarded by trees on

YARDS 327 — PAR 4
Risk/reward at its finest. Be conservative
and lay up to your favorite wedge yardage HOLE 8
or take a chance by going for the green.
The green is very well-protected by bunkers
front, right and left. An errant shot here can
easily find the ravine that borders the green
just beyond the bunkers. This is a birdie
opportunity if managed correctly.

YARDS 192 — PAR 3 HOLE 9

All carry over a ravine to a highly protected
green with bunkers everywhere. The green
works itself from a front right to a back left
section. Choosing the right club and picking
the correct section of the green to aim at is
a necessity. Any bail out here quickly
brings a bogey into play.

The very long hitters will challenge the

of a back right hole location.

YARDS 216 — PAR 3 HOLE 11

One of the toughest pars from past Western
Amateur Championships as the length
combined with the variety of challenging
hole locations makes this a difficult par.
Front and middle hole locations offer a
good iron shot a quality look at birdie but
back hole locations can take an aggressive
shot and turn it into bogey instantly.
Make your 3 and move on!

YARDS 555 — PAR 5 HOLE 13

A great birdie opportunity awaits! A good
tee shot in the fairway will be needed to
attack this par 5 in two. There is trouble off
the tee both right and left but ample room
in the fairway. The very long two-tiered
green is protected on both sides by bunkers
but is very receptive to a good approach
shot. The front part of the green is sloped
back to front with the back portion of the
green being deceptively level.

YARDS 493 — PAR 5 HOLE 15

Definite birdie opportunity. This hole will
play much shorter than the yardage on the
card. A good tee shot will favor the right
side of the fairway and reduce the yardage
dramatically. Players will be left with a
middle iron to a well-protected green with
bunkers everywhere. A hole location on the
right half of the green allows for lower scores
where a hole location on the left side of the
green will make it more interesting.

YARDS 422 — PAR 4
One of the most demanding tee shots on the
golf course. The tight, tree-lined shoot will
make the players feel slightly claustrophobic HOLE 16
from the back of the tee box. Any tee shot
missed left will result in a very challenging
hole. A very scenic approach shot from the
corner of the dogleg will require perfect
distance control to have a good look at
birdie. A front hole location demands
that the approach shot is below the
hole for a chance at birdie.

YARDS 212 — PAR 3 HOLE 17

This all-carry par 3 over water to a green
with very narrow depth, will test the best
players. Pulling the correct club is essential
as any short tee shot is in the penalty area
and any shot long will be a most difficult up
and down. Although the green is wide, a
good tee shot will be on the same side of
the green as the hole location. Being
forced to putt across the green will
produce multiple three putts.

The tee shot requires either a very straight
or a left-to-right ball flight with a penalty
area running up the entire left side of the HOLE 18

right may seem like a decent option off
the tee but will leave the player with no
look at the green. A well-positioned tee
shot will leave the player a green light
to attack most hole locations.
