Introduction Hi, I’m Kye Priest and this is my first book. I am a Year 9 student in Australia who writes books for fun for something else to do in my free time rather than play video games and do nothing productive as such. This is a project I haven’t spent a lot of time on but have worked on to get the story intriguing from start to end. Detective John Anderson had been tirelessly working on the case of the elusive serial killer known as "The Warehouse Slasher." The latest victim's body had just been discovered, bearing the same eerie signature as the previous ones. Determined to catch the killer, John followed a lead that led him to a familiar abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. As he cautiously explored the dimly lit warehouse, an unsettling feeling washed over him. The sound of a low, sinister chuckle echoed through the empty space, sending shivers down John's spine. Suddenly, he found himself surrounded by an unnerving darkness, as if the killer was near and closing in on him. As John navigated through the darkness, he stumbled upon a hidden room, its door slightly open. Cautiously, he pushed it open, only to be met with a horrifying sight. Before him lay an intricate web of photographs showcasing the faces of all The warehouse slasher's victims, their terrified expressions frozen in time.
At that moment, John's heart sank. He realized he had only scratched the surface of the twisted mind behind the killings. The photograph web implied that there were countless other victims, potentially linked to The warehouse slasher's gruesome reign of terror. The warehouse slasher was still killing people in their own warehouses. John came to think that it was someone close to him who was taunting him for the neglect he had shown them in his worst days when he only cared for himself. He started thinking there were three suspects, His brother Daniel, His former best friend and partner Pete or his cousin Pedro.
It seemed apparent that the killer wanted to kill John next and he knew it was going to be attempted eventually but when he least expects it. He wanted to get the killer before it was too late and someone else got hurt or worse, killed. He followed a rumor to a familiar place which so happened to be his childhood home. He went inside and followed the bloody walls to his old room. He was questioning what was happening until he got knocked unconscious by a candle stick. He got up and saw three attackers who all revealed to be The Warehouse Slashers and removed their masks to see Pete, One of the victims named Jane and his current police partner Tyrese. Another masked figure emerged from the darkness and the others bowed down to the figure which revealed himself to be his own flesh and blood, Daniel. John was distraught and didn’t know what to do. He asked why they were doing this knowing why this was happening.
Daniel revealed that the murders weren’t real and went to a friend named Jane who had a history in Prosthetic Designs where a decoy was made for John to get close so Daniel could kill him, John was given a choice with one bullet in the chamber of his gun and had the choice of shooting someone or throw the gun. He used the gun to his advantage and smacked Pete and Tyrese with the butt of the gun and threw Jane through a wall and Just like that It was blood vs blood, Daniel vs John. John was being overpowered by Daniel and John was almost going to die by that one bullet in the chamber but was saved when Pedro stormed in with a gun and shot Daniel in the leg. Daniel asked why he made him do this and to Pedro’s confusion, He asked what he meant but Daniel responded with a bullet to Pedro’s chest and made Pedro drop to the floor.
Daniel went up to Pedro and went to shoot him again but then John reminded him that one bullet was in the chamber in which Daniel got tackled by John while he was trying to load another bullet into the gun. John started to get the upper hand until Jane, Pete and Tyrese got up and ripped John off of Daniel and started to belt John till he started bleeding. Daniel was laughing and held a gun pointing at John about to shoot him and then, There was a gunshot, Daniel pulled the trigger on Tyrese to have a non-lethal impact on him and the others looked in surprise but that surprise turned into fury and charged at Daniel where they grabbed the gun and went to shoot him, ‘click’. The weapon doesn’t fire and jams. Daniel and John were working undercover and had to make it believable, So they went and gave a call to their cousin Pedro to storm in and gave the location to him. John, Daniel and Pedro were working together as undercover police from different districts.
Jane went for Pedro and Daniel and John took on Tyrese and Pete. Pedro took it easy on Jane because he didn’t actually want to hurt her, which was a mistake as Jane stabbed him with some wood in the leg. Daniel was getting hurt badly but John stepped up and defended his brother and took care of them both. John was helping Daniel up when Daniel saw Jane charging in with a sharp piece of wood to impale John, Daniel chucked John out of the way and Jane impaled Daniel instead. Jane had a lighter and was going to light the house on fire until Daniel shot her in the leg making her drop the lighter and lighting the place in flames. Daniel told Pedro and John to leave in which John was hesitant and Pedro had to drag him out of the house. They got out of the house and the house exploded with Daniel inside.
The search team came out of the house and said that Daniel was the only victim. The Warehouse Slashers survived and now were on the run again. The TV reports later that night revealed the leader of the cult known as the Warehouse Slashers, Their name is Pablo Anderson, Pedro’s father. John looked at Pedro and knew exactly what they had to do. They got in the car in anger and drove all the way to New Mexico. They needed intel on what the hideout looked like, It was a blacked out motorcycle clubhouse. They walked into empty bar stools, darkness and static. They had a TV going saying that Pablo and the slashers had fled to Santa Fe for a final stand against anyone that is after them and called out Pedro to join them for the last stretch for their final stand.
John looked at Pedro and asked if he was going to. In response, Pedro said no and off they went guns out for the final stand for revenge against The Slashers and his father to avenge Daniel. They reached Santa Fe and were ambushed and ripped from their car and bashed. Police came and assisted, killing most of them in a bloody massacre, but police all getting killed in the process. Pablo congratulated Pedro for bringing them to him. He gave Pablo one final chance to join his father and told his men to scatter and they did. Pedro took to his father’s side, turning on John. Pablo embraced his son with open arms and ordered him to shoot his cousin. Pedro pointed the gun at John and said run. John ran near the men that were leaving Pablo.
Pedro shot both of the men as John ran back and tackled Pablo and told Pedro to run and not to come back. Pedro hesitated for a bit but ran a few seconds later. Pablo started to take advantage of the situation and beat John until he was almost stabbed and on the verge of death until Pedro came back and shot Pablo, making him respond with a shot to Pedro’s leg. John was too weak to fight so he shot a fuel pump near him, blowing the place to shreds. Pedro went in to save John and got him out, Pablo shot Pedro in the heart leaving him to bleed out, John shot Pablo three times killing him. John tried saving Pedro but it was too late as he already lost too much blood. John was now all alone and had no-one to be side by side with. Police secured the area with air and ground units and found John holding Pedro’s lifeless body.
10 years after the Santa Fe incident…
John went back to LA and was presented with the bravery medal and stepped down from being a police officer for a couple of months but was back on the job shortly after. John now has two kids named Pedro and Daniel after the two men that saved his life more than once and are the sole reason he is still alive. John is now living a happy life with his kids and wife, Sarah. Some of the warehouse slashers are still loose but John has assured that without a leader, they will be brought to justice even if a new leader emerges, He will sacrifice his life to take them down.
