Our God is a great connoisseur of music and songs. Probably, that is why
the Holy Spirit prompted the writers of the Holy Scriptures to write
poems, songs and verses set to music. What a variety of music we have in
the Book. Our Triune God revels in music and our songs and music are
pleasing to His ears.

Songs and music have been an integral part of Christian worship.
Celestial Choirs and earthly choirs keep on singing and worshipping the
Creator 24 x 7. Oh what an honour to praise and worship Him. Next to
the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure to the
world, a rms the great Reformer, Martin Luther.

e UESI Song Book Come & Praise which you are holding in your hands
rightly does this. It contains a plethora of songs – songs to worship our
God, praise Him and give thanks to Him, songs about missions, about
one’s longings and yearnings. Besides, every song has a key signature
which will help the singers and the instrument players to sing and play
to the correct pitch. e relevant Bible verse pertaining to the song and a
brief note about the author, will add more meaning to the singing time. It
is better to avoid singing songs as a stop-gap arrangement, but let singing
be a part and parcel of EU and EGF fellowship meetings.

God loves to hear your singing - so sing, urges Rod Parsley. So what are
you waiting for. . .sing, praise and glorify God to your heart’s content.

God loves India. Having sent one of His 12 disciples to this
land, time and again, God raises people and movements to
proclaim the message of His love and claim people into His fold.
He intended a movement to shape the nation by touching the lives of
young people. A few individuals who yielded to this divine drive became
instruments in forming an evangelical student movement, Union of
Evangelical Students of India.

is historical move happened in the 1950s through 3 groups in
Chennai, Coimbatore & Vellore. e vision-gripped people’s hearts were
aglow for the transformation of post matric students through the Gospel.
As a result of their meeting on 18 September 1954, UESI was formed
and since then it has been in the serious business of touching lives. e
hallmark of UESI is the study of God’s Word personally and in groups.

UESI is ‘Students reaching students.’ Committed students are involed in
campus evangelism and witnessing among other students. e changed
lives become change agents in other students’ lives. e student leadership
is nurtured and supported by volunteers (Evangelical Graduates
Fellowship) and full-time sta workers. A group of UESI students that
meets in a campus is called an Evangelical Union (EU). Each EU aims
for evangelism, fellowship, witnessing, & mission. e young believers
are nurtured in the Word through the small groups, open homes and
mentoring.

From UESI ranks, over the 6 decades, God has raised countless,
individuals who have shaped history in the spheres of Church and
soceity. ey imbibe biblical values and imprint a legacy wherever God
has placed them. us they realize the, ‘ y Kingdom Come.’

ere is a beauty as members from di erent denominations & languages
toil together for the cause of students in India. UESI looks to God for
all its needs; there is no membership fee nor any subscription collected.
UESI unfolds opportunities to make one’s life worth living and worth
serving for His cause among the students.
