SUSTAINABILITY YEAR END REPORT

2019

OUR PROMISE

20|20 GREEN ENERGY
COMMITMENT

We believe that green energy is no longer the
future. It needs to be the present.

BEGINNING IN JANUARY 2020, PM HOTEL
GROUP HAS COMMITTED TO PURCHASING
100% GREEN POWER FOR OUR ENTIRE
MANAGED HOTEL PORTFOLIO.

Recognizing that this decade will be critical
to our planet’s health, we are committed to
demonstrating a genuine RESPECT for the
environment and are proud to join the EPA’s
Green Power Partnership. Green power is the
cleanest, most beneficial form of renewable
energy. Moving forward we will be purchasing
our electricity from 100% Green power sources.*

*According to EPA the US voluntary market defines green power as electricity produced from
solar, wind, geothermal, biogas, eligible biomass and low impact small hydroelectric sources.
*PM Hotel Group has purchased Green power through a combination of REC purchases,
bundled third-party supply agreements and utility green tariffs.

SPOTLIGHT

At Airlie we feel a special connection and responsibility
to the land and our team works tirelessly to safeguard
it every day. The hotel and conference center’s
sustainability programs have been a cornerstone of
its mission from the start. Earth Day as we know it
today was conceived here 50 years ago; and farm to
fork isn’t cute marketing. The farm produces 10,000
pounds of crops and 12,000 pounds of beef each year-
all 100% farm fresh.

SPOTLIGHT

There’s much more than meets the eye at the LEED
Platinum hotel in Silver Spring, MD just outside the
nation’s capital. One of just 7 LEED platinum hotels
in North America, the property incorporates industry
leading sustainability elements throughout. Only
Eco-friendly construction materials were used; high
efficiency heating /cooling systems and smart lighting
are the norm. Many of the carefully considered
sustainability efforts likely go unnoticed- but together
they help reduce our impact on the planet. From
countertops made of recycled materials to landscaping
that includes indigenous-only plants, the passion for the
planet is evident throughout.
