Is a resident of Grottoes, Virginia
I am poem
I am smart and humorous
I wonder when will the world end
I hear the water flowing in a small brook
I see the tops of clouds
I want to be financially successful
I am smart and humorous
I pretend that I am famous
I feel the earth below me
I touch the clouds in the sky
I worry when will the world end
I cry about global warming
I am smart and humorous
I understand that I don’t understand everything
I say if you keep at it it might come true
I dream of someday being rich
I try to do my best at everything
4
I hope that my effort will eventually pay off
I am smart and humorous
Look in the mirror poem
When I look in the mirror what do I see?
A smart, confident, hungry person looking back at me.
I’m really good at gaming, piano, and cross country
And love to read, write, and run
I spend lots of time playing video games, doing homework, and
practicing piano
And can’t wait to get a PS4
I could improve my drawing skills
5
And focusing is hard for me
Opposite poem
I love sports
I dislike homework
I have a loving family
I want a PS4
My friends say I have an interesting attitude
My family says I’m insane
One day I will become an author
I will never Become an entomologist
My favorite foods are shrimp cocktail and homemade pizza
I will never eat bugs
I am sad when global warming melts the poles
I am happy when we take measures to prevent it
I am safe when I am inside
6
I am scared when I go camping
Acrostic
Crazy about those wrapped boxes
Hurriedly the children run upstairs
Run, run, run, there they go
It is almost time for...
Santa Claus to do his rounds
Time for lights, time for candy, time for presents, time for
cheer
Much later when they’re all asleep
A thump on the roof gives one a scare
Santa and his reindeer have arrived

Parts of a speech poem
The paper
Thin and crisp
Rustling and expressing
Written
Document

Tanka Poem
He knew already too much
He knew that he knew too much
And so, so he ran
They came for him, after him
He knew too much, too very much
13
Sensory Poem
Love is red
It sounds like birds chirping
It tastes like a cupcake that is too sweet
It smells like a bottle of perfume
Love feels all to perfect to be true
14
Couplets
Running used to make me tired
Now when I run, I’m all fired
My leg muscles used to shake
Now stretchings a piece of cake
It builds much endurance
The happiness it gives in generous
I ran a 10-minute mile
That didn’t make me smile
Now I’ve run 5 minutes
I felt very fortunate
15
Haiku
It trickles downward
The river’s gentle singing
Sends me off to sleep
16
Limerick
Once George the dog
Wandered into a bog
He sat on someone’s old sock
He ate someone’s old clock
And ran away from the yellow-eyed frog
17
Mystery poem
I went outside and what did I find
A box to open I hope no one will mind
It was tied on the top with a bow of bright yellow
It looked to me, very old and mellow
I open it up and what do I see?
A little puppy happily staring back at me
18
I have a dream-poem
I have a dream of no more global warming
Having to actually take a walk for a chance
Also being able to see the night sky in cities that never get the
chance
Very improbable at the state that we’re going
Even though we are taking drastic measures
Actually trying not just talking
Doing things to reverse the effects
Really just thinking before we act
Eating less of the food that fattens us
After we learn what they use to make it
Maybe just having some common sense?
