KOPSAS 6.0 UNISEL 1 Kolokium Penyelidikan Sains Sosial (KOPSAS) was first introduced and organised in 2021 as an online webinar. The programme name and its acronym, KOPSAS, were proposed by the inaugural Programme Director, Mr. Muhammad Safar Abdurahman, and the former dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences (FESS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Astri Yulia, who served as the Programme Advisor. Since its inception, KOPSAS has evolved into a tradition within FESS, held annually with various individuals leading the programme. Mr. Muhammad Safar Abdurahman helmed KOPSAS 2.0, succeeded by Mr. Afiq Azri Mohd Ghani for KOPSAS 3.0, and Ms. NaThinamalar Magiswary Nadarajan for KOPSAS 4.0. Continuing this legacy, Mr. Muhammad Khairul Annuar Abd Ajis directed KOPSAS 5.0, and now KOPSAS 6.0 has commenced, with Mdm. Suzulaikha Mohamed anchoring the programme. Throughout its iterations, KOPSAS has introduced different themes: KOPSAS 1.0 – “Cultivating Research Literacy in the New Norm” KOPSAS 2.0 – “The Diversity of Research in the Digital World” KOPSAS 3.0 – “Towards Cultivating Research Culture” KOPSAS 4.0 – “Mapping Education and Social Sciences in the Digital World” KOPSAS 5.0 – “Exploring the Dynamics of Education and Society: Unveiling New Perspectives” KOPSAS serves as a crucial platform for FESS undergraduates to showcase their works and research endeavours across various fields and specialisations such as TESL, Early Childhood Studies, Islamic Studies, Education, Psychology, and more. Beyond the presentation of research, the programme is part of FESS' initiatives to enhance students’ self-confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The overarching goal of KOPSAS is to nurture students' research literacy across disciplines, offering them a platform to engage in scholarly inquiry and interdisciplinary dialogue. Through this initiative, FESS aims to cultivate a culture of research and intellectual curiosity among its student body, preparing them for future academic and professional pursuits. ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

KOPSAS 6.0 UNISEL 2 Assalamualaikum w.b.t With immense pleasure, I welcome everyone to the 6th ‘Kolokium Penyelidikan Sains Sosial’ (KOPSAS 6.0), held at the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences, Universiti Selangor. This year's theme, "AI Amplified: Empowering Humanity through Intelligent Systems," promises to be a stimulating exploration of the intricate link between our educational systems and advanced technology that everyone is now dependent on. We are thrilled to be hosting this event again for 2024. The goal of KOPSAS remains steadfast: to cultivate a vibrant research culture amongst students and provide a platform for sharing and discussing knowledge gleaned through meticulous inquiry. This year, we witnessed impressive participation with 170 presenters and 100 captivating presentations by undergraduate students representing the Early Childhood Studies Department, Language Education Department, Social Science Department, and Islamic Studies Department. Their diverse research foci promise a broader understanding towards the variability involved in education and social sciences. Guiding them are 10 moderators and 20 expert panellists, ensuring insightful feedback and engaging discussions. On behalf of the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences, I express our deepest gratitude to our esteemed guest, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Redzuan Othman, President and ViceChancellor of Universiti Selangor, for gracing us with his presence and inaugurating KOPSAS 6.0. We are also honoured to have Prof. Dr. Rosalina Abdul Salam, Associate Professor, Senior Researcher, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) as our keynote speaker. Her address, titled "AI Amplified: Empowering Humanity through Intelligent Systems” is sure to provide invaluable insights regarding the integration of technology in humans’ lives. Finally, I extend my most sincere appreciation to the KOPSAS Organizing Committee, comprising dedicated academic and administrative staff from the Faculty of Education and Social and of course, our amazing University of Selangor students. Their tireless efforts have made this event possible. To our presenters, I wish you the very best as you showcase your research endeavours.
