Anwar Al Kahwagi

Anwar started his career in his home country of Jordan after he acquired a Master’s of Science, Soils and Irrigation from the university of Jordan. Today, he has over 20 years of experience in landscaping, irrigation, utilities and site development. As General Manager of Bloom Landscaping in Abu Dhabi, Anwar utilized his skills as an analytical decision-maker with a proven track record of increasing productivity and turning around difficult situations.
However, it was at Al Ryum Group in Abu Dhabi, where he led the construction division, that Anwar truly honed his skills, having spent a decade overseeing their day to day operations and heading up business development. His visionary approach ensured that he could manage and exceed stakeholders’ expectations, as well as fulfilling his responsibilities of monitoring project progress, negotiating pre-and post-contracts and managing tight budgets.
A key focus for Anwar is emerging technologies and the role that they can play in ensuring a sustainable landscape industry that can compete on the global stage.

Baharash Bagherian is the Head of Urban Planning at Diamond Developers, leading a multi-disciplinary team of Architects, Landscape Designers and Engineers from various specialized fields to design the next generation of sustainable cities.
Diamond Developers aims to accelerate the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, by replicating ‘The Sustainable City in Dubai’ globally. The Sustainable City is the first operational Net Zero Energy development in the region. Boris Fabinski
Principal Landscape Architect, SSH
Boris is a landscape architect and environmental planner with more than 15 years of experience in landscape and urban design, environmental planning, and the latest sustainable policies and developments related to commercial, education, government, leisure and residential sectors on a local and regional scale. He joined SSH in July 2016 as Principal Landscape Architect in Dubai to enhance their landscape and public realm design.
Boris previously managed design development for landscape and the public realm of flagship developments including the Town Square in Dubai for Nshama and the design and construction of public parks, streetscapes and open spaces for the Municipality of Abu Dhabi as a consultant to the Municipality and its Parks and Recreational Facilities Directorate (PRFD). Other showcase projects include the revitalization of the Tourist Club area in Abu Dhabi.
Boris holds a Diploma in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning from the Beuth University in Berlin, Germany.
Carlos Pissarra
CEO, GHESA S.A. (Br. of Dubai)
Started his career in GHESA in 1991 as CEO of GHESA Portugal, he has more than 28 years of experience in the Water Features and Multimedia Shows industry and has been responsible for the sales and management of more than 800 projects.
In Dubai, since 2007, he is currently the CEO of GHESA S.A. and leads the company development and expansion across the GCC and ASEAN regions while overseeing strategic management, planning and operations.
He has overseen many iconic projects throughout his career, however the most significant projects installed under his leadership have been The Water Features at Qasr al Watan in Abu Dhabi, Princess Noura University in Riyadh, La Perle Habtoor Theatre in Dubai, The Floating Multimedia Fountain in Sharjah and the ICONIC Multimedia Water Feature in Bangkok.

Deema Aburizik
Design Director / Master Planning, Arada
Deema Aburizik is an architect and urban design consultant, who is currently leading master planning design at Arada, a new UAE-based developer with a launch focus on the Emirate of Sharjah.
Prior to joining Arada, Deema led the urban planning and design practice for the UAE at Khatib & Alami, where she worked with major developers such as Dubai Properties Group, Meraas and Majid Al Futtaim Properties. During this time, she worked on high-profile projects that spanned a diverse series of disciplines, including regional planning, town planning, public realm design, development codes, port planning and wayfinding.
Deema also led the urban planning studies for the implementation of the new street addressing scheme for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and provided advisory services for the Department of Town Planning and Survey in Sharjah on strategic city-wide studies such as urban growth, demand, supply of land and housing.
She has also worked as a Researcher and Analyst at Colliers, and as a Research and Coordination Officer at the Centre for the Study of the Built Environment (CSBE) in Amman, where she served as a liaison officer between CSBE and Habitat for Humanity – Jordan.
Deema is currently conducting professional research on public realm design and related policies in the UAE.
Duncan Denley
Managing Director, desert INK
Duncan Denley is the Managing Director of Desert Group’s design consultancy, desert INK. Educated in the UK, where he twice graduated with distinctions at the top of his class in Landscape Architecture and Town and Country Planning, Duncan has been a UK Chartered Landscape Architect since 2008. Duncan has taught as a visiting lecturer at universities in Europe and MENA. He boasts professional experience which spans the globe, having been based in the UK, U.S.A. and the UAE. Duncan possesses 16 years of Middle East experience and as such is one of the most experienced Landscape Architects in the region.
Duncan has an impressive project list under his belt, including many of the world’s largest and most complex developments, such as The Burj Khalifa, Mall of the Emirates, Abu Dhabi Central Markets and Doha’s Sheraton Park. Duncan is extremely well-versed not only in creative design, but the technical complexities involved in such massive construction projects. Leading his team with equal doses of enthusiasm, passion and knowledge, he is making serious waves in the design community and instigating much needed sustainable change. His projects and design philosophies are widely published globally and desert INK has an ever-growing collection of design awards which is testament to his passion for design.
Eric Wright
Managing Director, Place Dynamix
Eric is a Landscape Architect and the Managing Director at Place Dynamix in Dubai. He is responsible for the overall design direction, delivery and quality of all Landscape Architecture and Design projects for the company. Supported by the regional team of Design Managers, Senior Landscape Architects, Landscape Architects, Urban Designers, Graphic Designers and Technical staff, he ensures the client’s vision is realised and surpassed.
He earned his Bachelor of Science and Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia in 2003. Eric is passionate about design and has built his reputation on delivering good quality designs. His collaborative mindset and awareness of construction techniques are rooted in the design work he has delivered across the Middle East, North Africa, and the US.
Eric has lived and worked throughout the Middle East for the past 13 years. He has a robust landscape, infrastructure design, and construction management background. His philosophy is that ‘we create our best ideas when we are eliminating the problems – not when we are giving solutions.” He draws inspiration for his work from Integrated infrastructure; the merging of the natural of site characteristics with its development potential, and creating that “special moment” in every project.
Fadi George Gholam
Middle East Business Development Manager, NDS
Fadi is a seasoned business development manager with nearly four decades of experience working in the construction, building materials, design and sales sectors. He is currently the Middle East Business Development Manager for NDS a member of Norma group, a company providing storm water management solutions, including drainage systems, permeable power, valve and meter boxes, drip irrigation, flow control, drainage management, and root barrier.
Fadi earned his Master’s in Irrigation Science from the American University of Beirut. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the development of irrigation systems and seen the sector evolve from using unproductive and wasteful equipment to become tech savvy with smart, effective and sustainable operations.
The Lebanese Canadian started his career as an engineer for Dar Al- Handasah Consultants (Shair and Partners) in 1983 where he contributed to the landscaping and irrigation works for the Riyadh Ring Road in KSA. He then moved to become head of the irrigation department at Najjar Agricultural SAL where he developed automated irrigation applications for sports surfaces and cash crops in Lebanon and Syria. Before joining NDS, he had stints at big name companies like Rain Bird International and Citiscape in Abu Dhabi where he worked on iconic projects like Atlantis, Yas Island and Meydan race course among other high-end developments.

Graham Alderslade
Head of Landscaping, Arada
Graham is a passionate horticulturist with 28 years of experience in horticulture and landscaping, 18 years of those in the Middle East. He started his career in South Africa predominately in nursery development and plant production, however since coming to the Middle East he has diversified and now works in all aspects of landscaping. He currently heads up the landscaping division at Arada, a developer focusing on building residential communities in Sharjah for the first year of its operations.
Throughout his career, Graham has successfully set up and managed a number of companies with 300 plus staff under his care. However, a handful of projects stick out as highpoints in his career including the upgrade of the nursery division for Zaid al Hussain in Saudi Arabia, as well as setting up the Greenworks nursery for Al Barari in Dubai and Sobha Horticulture and Landscaping which was fundamental for all the landscaping in Mohammed bin Rashid City District 1.
Hanna Zaidan
Area Manager Gulf Countries, Hunter Industries
Hanna Zaidan is based in Dubai as the area manager of Gulf Countries for Hunter Industries, a leading manufacturer irrigation products. Hanna has over 30 years’ experience in the landscape and irrigation industry covering design, project management, sales and marketing having worked for major irrigation firms in the Middle East and Australia.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Soil and Irrigation and later with a Masters of Science in Irrigation and Water Resources Management from the University of Jordan.
A personal highlight for Hanna was the Park Hyatt hotel in Dubai due to the complexity of the project which required engineering irrigation products to nurture a lush landscape in one of the most demanding climates of the world. Hanna has played a role in overseeing that all irrigation products are designed/selected with extreme efficiency to make the most of the area’s valuable water resources, while delivering dependable performance day in and day out. Nowhere is this more critical than in the UAE where landscaping expectations demand the very best.

Hany Wadie
Chairman, Shira For Trade & Agencies
Hany is the founder and Chairman of Shira, a service provider for Landscape and agriculture services based in Egypt. His company represents several major international manufacturers and is a market leader in Egypt for Irrigation services.
Hany graduated from Ein shams university in 1989 with a bachelor of science in agriculture. Since 1989, he has played a major role in the introduction of the latest state of the art technologies to the Egyptian market. He is also personally involved in providing various training programs and courses in irrigation for the landscape and agriculture professionals in Egypt.
Jon Ware
Director/Landscape Architect, Landscape Consultants
Jon was born and raised in the US and has dual bachelor degrees in landscape architecture and horticulture. Jon is the Director of Landscape Consultants in Muscat, Oman and is highly skilled and talented in concept and detail design for diverse projects types and scales, including master planning and urban design. With over 15 years’ experience, Jon is highly valued in multi- disciplinary design projects and collaborating in complex projects requiring layers of coordination. Jon adds fresh and intelligent perspective to projects covering wide-ranging aspects of aesthetics, social impact, functionality, safety, constructability, costs and sustainability.
Jon enjoys blurring lines between landscapes and buildings and is naturally driven to understand the spirit of each place. He knows that design begins with understanding his client needs, site context, local vernacular architecture, geology, ecology and cultural customs and practices. Jon is always reaching in design style and excited in team efforts that produce high quality work.
Besides Landscape Architecture, Jon is interested in Horticulture Therapy, Arboriculture, Bioregionalism, Stone Masonry, Vernacular Architecture, Contemporary Architecture, Biomimicry and Biophilic Design.

Jose Nascimento
Managing Director, Fluidra Middle East
With more than 20 years of experience in the swimming pool industry, Jose is currently the Managing Director of Fluidra Middle East. He oversees the company operations across the Middle East and Gulf Countries. Jose comes from Portugal after finishing his studies there he started working with Fluidra Portugal and after that he moved to the international market to manage Fluidra operations in Dubai he than moved to Egypt to establish Fluidra Egypt. As he is the man of hard missions the company decided to shift him to South Africa to supervise the restructuring and development of Fluidra South Africa where he helped the company to evolve. Two years ago, he came back to Dubai as the Managing Director of Fluidra Middle East. Jose is known for his management skills and organizational expertise; he always embraces changes allowing company growth. Fluidra is currently the UAE market leader in swimming pools and water features where its products are installed in hundreds of residential and commercial projects across the country.
Kamelia Zaal
Owner/Lead Designer, Kamelia Landscape Design
After studying landscape garden design at London’s renowned Inchbald School of Design, Kamelia returned to Dubai inspired to create intuitive and stylised outdoor living spaces. Shortly thereafter she began her career as a freelance garden designer working on residential villas until she established her own landscape architectural practice, Second Nature, in 2006, working on both large commercial projects and unique residential jobs. Kamelia later formed an association with her family’s prestigious property development company, Al Barari, where Second Nature, which became part of Green Works, created the lush botanic surrounds and themed gardens that the address has become recognised for, winning the 2014 International Property Award for Best Residential Landscape Architecture, Best Residential Landscape Architecture Arabia and Best Residential Landscape Architecture Dubai.
In 2015 Kamelia left the family business to relaunch her Design Studio and focus only on landscape design. In May 2015 Kamelia became the first ever Arab landscape designer to participate at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show winning a silver gilt medal for her garden “The Beauty of Islam”. In 2016, Kamelia won another prestigious Silver Gilt medal at the Gardening World Cup in japan for her garden, The Seal of the Prophets. In 2017, she was invited to participate at the first Radicepura Garden Festival, Sicily. Kamelia has now become an advocate for the use of indigenous plants and sustainable landscape design practises. Her goal is to continue HH Sheikh Zayed’s vision to protect and enhance the environment of the UAE and to leave a green legacy for the people of the UAE to enjoy for decades to come.

Khateeb Babiker
Commercial Manager, Polyclean LLC
Khateeb graduated from the University of Leicester in the UK with an M.Sc. in marketing and previously with first-class honours in B. Sc Agric economic from the University of Khartoum in Sudan.
Khateeb’s career and expertise in the turf and landscaping industry extend over 15 years in the GCC. He has been involved in developing a wide range of specialized products and machinery that appeal to the turf and golf markets. He previously worked as general manager for Turf Machinery and Product division in Desert Turf Care Commercial Division, Desert Group for nine years and is currently a partner and commercial manager at Polyclean Turf Division UAE.
His responsibilities include, managing the value chain for the entire division that includes outsourcing, testing, sampling, registering, procuring, delivering specialty turf and landscape products and machinery from point of manufacturing to end users. He is also responsible for planning and executing the day to day business operations with corporate customers in the landscape and golf market.
Khateeb also oversees the sales and marketing strategy for the company as well as the supply chain to many new projects in GCC; including Jumeirah Golf estate and Saadiyat Islands Links Golf clubs.
The Sudanese National was named as the Ransomes Jacobsen Turf distributor of the year for three consecutive years between 2006 and 2008.

Laith Wark
Landscape Architect & co-founder, Verdaus
Laith is a Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) with the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA), an international member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and a member of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). Laith co-founded Dubai-based Verdaus Landscape Architects in 2004. Today, Verdaus is one of the longest established independent consultancies specializing in landscape architecture for the Gulf region. Laith promotes landscape design that addresses the performance of landscapes over time. Urban trees are a particular focus, and his projects typically incorporate sustainable tree planting technologies. Laith introduced several of these technologies to the region, including structural soil cells and a specially formulated structural soil mix for tree planting. Recognising that landscapes evolve over time, Laith remains actively involved with projects post-completion. He supports the cultivation of quality landscapes over time and offers tree inventory services and assists property owners in managing their urban forests.
Dr. Mario Rossi
Managing Director, Ambient Studio
Dr. Mario Rossi is a professional in the sustainable design sector, with experience in ecological and landscape restoration and planning, with a profound knowledge of history, botany, pedology, erosion control and storm water management, aerial photogrammetry and mapping for integrating field work within design.
His background is unique as a practitioner in what has been called “agritecture” in an equilibrated mix between environmental sciences, sustainable landscape architecture, urban forestry and natural restoration. Dr Mario leads multiple design efforts in Europe, the US and MENA, as managing director of Ambient Studio, working between their offices in Dubai and Italy. He also works as Design Director, Principal Landscape Architect and Urban Planner for master plans and environmental impact assessments across multiple countries.
When Dr. Mario is not leading his own professional projects, he is teaching and mentoring future industry leaders in Architecture, Agriculture, Ecology, Forestry, Planning and Urban design at Florence University in Italy and in New York, Bronx Botanical Garden, Horticulture School.
He is a laureate from the prestigious Alma Mater Universitas Studiorum Florentina - Firenze University, in Italy - where he obtained a master degree in forestry sciences with his doctoral thesis in environmental economics.

He has a broad spectrum of working experience as in a variety roles as entrepreneur and principal, client representative, consultant, contractor, manufacturer and supplier. This gave him the tools and track record to lead and deliver complex projects, throughout the various stages of a project life-cycle from the project initiation, planning and design, to its implementation, management and supervision.
Marlon currently holds the position of Global Senior Manager – Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning & Design Departments at Khatib & Alami, where he has 56 employees reporting directly to him across six teams in the UAE, Lebanon, Egypt and India. He is also in the process of finalizing his Master Degree in City Sciences at the Rochester University of Technology.

Muddather Hassan Suliman

With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Muddather is the Projects Director at Zaid AlHussain and Brothers Group in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He oversees operations for all projects within the group, including the design process, tendering process and contract negotiations up to project execution. Born in Sudan in 1963, Muddather graduated from the Asyut University in Egypt in 1988, with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. Since then he has been involved in several mega projects worth billions of Riyals across KSA, such as King Abdullah International Garden, King Abdullah Economic City and many others projects related to Landscape Architecture, Agriculture & Infrastructure.
Namir Muhtar
Co-Founder & Director of Operations, METTS
Namir is a senior manager with over 20 years of experience in operations, sales, marketing, and business development in the landscape industry. He has been acknowledged by his peers for extensive international exposure, savvy strategic thinking and exceptional business performance with high ethical standards, by being awarded multiple industry awards including, the Trail Blazer Award from Hunter Industries, and he twice was the recipient of an Outstanding Achievement Award, MEAC.
Born in Lebanon, Namir has a Master’s of Science in Irrigation, from the American University of Beirut (AUB). He has also contributed to several research projects which have aided development in the irrigation industry, such as surface irrigation evaluation, repair and design which saw him partner with major consultants, and projects relating to irrigation, drainage and land reclamation in Lebanon.
He is a persuasive public speaker, known for effective communication and prominent leadership skills.

Nawfal Al Khudhairy
Director, Strategy & Growth, AECOM
Nawfal’s professional career started in the UK after he graduated with a BA hons degree and later a post graduate diploma in landscape architecture from a British university. After stints working in the UK and Europe, he was a key member in evolving the design and delivery of the renowned international design competition of Riyadh’s National Park (Salam Park). He moved to Riyadh to supervise and oversee the completion of the project and later decided to stay to contribute to the country’s development.
Nawfal joined AECOM in 2018 as the Strategy and Growth Director for the KSA region. His vast experience gained in the engineering, project management and planning sectors throughout his 20-year career has enabled him to hone his skills in business development using his wide network of key contacts to secure a steady stream of work and guide projects to successful completion. Critically, he has been successful in initiating business in new markets. Effectively bridging the gap between the Western and the GCC practices in developing and creating new business, this includes managing the full operation process for the benefits of the clients and end users, in order to improve margins.
Through his broad experience, he’s achieved a track record as a senior representative in all commercial and strategic business development, where he served as client and business development director for Infrastructure, defense, and property sectors. Prior to this position, he built an extensive background in Strategy and Business Development as the KSA Country Director for CH2M and General Manager for Atkins within central region and eastern province in KSA.
Nawfal was also involved in a considerable number of landmark and historic projects in the region such as Riyadh Metro, Riyadh Central Urban Regeneration Master Plan and Infrastructure, Riyadh’s National Park (Salam Park), King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Al Warsan Lake Preservation Project including the Exotic Facility at Dubai’s International City and Block 338 Adliyah Urban Regeneration and Public Realm, a renowned tourist destination in Bahrain.

Naser Ahmed

An Indian national, Mr Ahmed is the co-founder and Group CEO of the Tanseeq Investment Group of Companies — a group of fifteen successful companies which together offer a one stop solution for all landscaping requirements.
Mr Ahmed is a qualified civil engineer with over forty years’ experience in the landscaping industry. Mr Ahmed started his career in India and moved to the Middle East in 1985 where he served in numerous prestigious positions, before co-founding Proscape LLC in 2000, a premium landscaping company in the GCC.
He is well-known for accepting difficult challenges and is credited with numerous accomplishments in the field of landscaping including authoring specifications for trees, shrubs, ground covers, accent plants, and palms for adapting to landscaping projects in the Middle East. Alongside co-founding Tanseeq Investment LLC and its subsidiary companies he also founded Cottonwood Nurseries in South India, a supplier of premium matured ornamental trees to Acacia LLC complying with BS (British Standard) 3936 1:1992
Nehme Moujaess
Managing Director, TerraVerde
Nehme is the co-founder of TerraVerde, a landscaping construction and design company since 2004. Over the last fifteen years, he has been one of the principal drivers of sustainability in the Gulf region. Leading by example, he and his team have built TerraVerde’s award winning reputation through championing the protection of the environment and conservation. Overseeing over 400 landscaping professionals, Nehme is responsible for setting the firm’s strategic direction. Equally in his role as the firm’s lead designer he maintains a hands-on approach, providing oversight throughout the project build to ensure the integrity of each project to his exacting standards.
A qualified professional, he graduated from the American University of Beirut with an MSc in Soil Sciences, BSc in Agricultural Sciences and Diploma of Agricultural Engineering and started his career on a research programme exploring salinity and its effects on vegetable production in the UAE. In 1995, he founded his first landscaping venture “Agrinet” in Beirut, designing and executing a wide range of projects for several residential developments and commercial buildings in and around the city. This business is still active in Lebanon today. Progressive and highly creative, Nehme is constantly evolving TerraVerde and its offering to maintain the firms’ market leading position.

Peyman Soudi
Design Manager, Parsons
Peyman has practiced as a Landscape Architect/Designer and Horticulturist for more than 25 years, 16 years of which have been within the United Arab Emirates. During this period, he worked with either Consultancy or Contracting companies and experienced all aspects of the industry in all project stages from bidding to implementation and on-site supervision.
Peyman got his bachelor’s degree in Horticulture Science and later earned a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. He planned to continue with his PhD in Urban Planning but he moved to Dubai in 2002 to pursue work opportunities instead.
Peyman, currently works as Design Manager in Parsons and leads a multi-disciplinary design team that handle projects from conception to construction. He has a proven track record of problem solving and contributes valuable engineering insight into both design and construction management. His ability to efficiently and effectively realize landscape project requirements and deliver in accordance with statutory requirements and guidelines has earned him great respect in the industry.
Peyman is also an accomplished writer with a handful of articles published in Landscape Middle East magazine, he also lectures at industry events including Smart Landscape Summit and The Big 5 exhibitions in Dubai.
Ralf Stahl
Managing Director, Zeoplant
Ralf Stahl has spent the past 23 years working in the UAE. He is the co- founder and managing partner of Zeoplant, the world’s leading natural mineral moisture retaining soil additive.
After witnessing the UAE’s huge construction boom, Ralf foreseen water issues for the country and the entire region so he became pro- active in promoting water saving solutions in the landscaping industry, as well as golf and agricultural sectors. He works with developers, project owners and architects to ensure that decision makers opt for the most sustainable possible solutions.

Rowan D’Arcy
Senior Associate/Business Development (CMLI Landscape Architect), InSite
Rowan is a Senior Associate and Business Development Manager for the aspirational design firm InSite – Planners/Landscape Architects (A division of KEO International Consultants). He qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Gloucestershire in 2007 and became a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) in 2011. Since then he has collaborated with teams that have put enhancement of human well-being and natural ecologies at their core. Improving people’s day-to-day lives with sensitively crafted schemes where user’s needs, environmental context, cultural suitability, sustainable design and client requirements are interwoven.
Determined to continuously learn and develop, he has traveled widely forging a varied portfolio of landscape architectural and environmental improvement projects. These include; public realm designs in Ireland, Asia and the Middle East, for world renowned projects such as the Norman Foster master planned Masdar City and most notably leading the landscape architectural design for the avenue to the celebrated Jean Nouvel designed, Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Rowan is currently spearheading InSite’s approach to VR exploring different ways to communicate the ethereal design process, to promote deeper engagement from clients and project teams during the visioning of projects.
Soleiman Hatoum
Associate Principal Landscape Architect
Soleiman is an accomplished and resourceful Landscape Architect with more than 26 years’ experience across the globe and Middle East. Adept at spearheading landscape architecture projects, managing multi-billion mega size project sites, design management, and leading multi-disciplinary teams. He has spearheaded projects in world heritage sites, international parks, public-parks, office-parks, high-end residential and commercial developments. Multicultural, equipped with strong work ethic and ability to accomplish multiple tasks in a challenging environment to achieve desired corporate objectives.
Soleiman’s work spans public realm projects that promote functionality, adaptability and sustainability, delivering optimized contemporary design and performance outcomes that he says, collectively humanize the public realm spaces.

Tom Hewitt
Principal Landscape Architect, Parson
Tom is Chartered Landscape Architect with 19 years of professional experience in the Gulf region and the United Kingdom, with experience of urban regeneration, master planning and impact assessments. He has worked on projects in Oman, Qatar and the UAE, including large scale landscape master plans, hotels and resorts and private residences. Tom’s inspiration for the external environment was born through his grandfather, WG Hoskins, who is known most notably for this book, The Making of the English Landscape. From this he studied garden design under well-known UK garden designer and landscape architect, Chris Beardshaw, before going on to complete his degree and post graduate studies in landscape architecture.
Waleed M. H. Hamdan
General Manager, Green and More
Waleed has over 30 years as a multifaceted civil engineer within the construction, contracting and landscaping industry. The Jordanian national started his career as a military engineer, responsible for design, construction and delivery of private defense projects in Jordan. He later established his own company in Amman, Al Badr Contracting Co, winning a bid for a half a million Jordanian Dinars project. He later moved to the UAE in the late 80s and took on a role as a project engineer for RAK military Airport.
His career has seen him work on multiple projects across the UAE including two of its biggest oil refineries and grain factories in Port Khalid for Emirates Grain and Emirates Refinery Co. later he worked on construction of Ajman Kempinski Hotel and Resort, as well as several ADNOC filling stations in RAK and Sharjah.
After Leading Gulf Landscape & Irrigation Systems Co for 14 years, in November 2013, Waleed set up his own venture, Green & More, a regional landscaping company. The company continues on an upward growth trajectory, reaching a current turnover of above 100 million dirhams annually, with a workforce of 450 people based in Dubai. Today Green &More is one of the leading landscape companies engaged in design, execution and maintenance of landscape projects.
