Saturday 6th August 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 171 The season kicked-off with a clash between the two clubs that would lead the head of the pack for the majority of the season. It was the visitors who would land the first blow when Jake Conkay caught goalkeeper Joe Gilbert off his line with a marvellous chip from the halfway line. Town would respond well and went into the break ahead thanks to debutants Dan Hadley and Kyle Montague. The Robins remained good value in the second half and were unlucky not to be rewarded with a penalty after Dan Danks appeared to have been upended in the box. Although, Town would only take a point out of the game after Sam Grouse converted a ninetieth minute penalty having been upended in the box by Gilbert. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer, Boswell (Field), Colley, Hadley, Perry, Danks (Hanna), Massey, Montague (Butler), Patel, Scriven. 3
Tuesday 9th August 2022 Kick-Off 7.45pm Attendance: 225 Dudley Town earned their first victory of the season with an impressive 2-1 victory over much fancied title favourites Hinckley in front of a large and boisterous crowd on a balmy August evening. In a contest with very little to choose between the two sides, again Dudley found themselves falling behind. This time some strong work on the right for Hinckley allowed former Dudley Sports forward Emile Beckford to steal in and open the scoring on twenty-five minutes. The Robins though had an inspirational second half performance from Montague to thank for the victory. Heading home the equaliser on sixty-two minutes, it was his eightieth minute winner that was pure class. Breaking free from his marker a powerful run connected onto a long ball from Connpr Archer that the summer signing from Wednesfield made no mistake in turning past the Hinckley ‘keeper Brandon Bache to earn a well won three points. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer, Field, Colley, Hadley (Beddall), Perry, Danks, Massey (Sherwood (Hanna)), Montague (Butler), Patel, Scriven. 4
Tuesday 16th August 2022 Kick-Off 7.45pm Attendance: 162 Dudley Town would taste defeat for the first time in the 2022-2023 season a single goal was enough to condemn The Robins to defeat against bogey side OJM Black Country. A thunderous effort from Jack Martin earned the winner after just twenty-four minutes as his effort left Gilbert in the Dudley goal with no chance. This was not a bad performance from Dudley and they were unlucky to come out of the fixture empty handed following a dominant second half display. The sending-off of Martin for a second bookable offence allowed Town to press further, but in the end it was just not meant to be. However, Dudley had picked up four points from a tough opening three games against three promotion candidates. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer (Boswell), Field (Butler), Colley, Beddall, Perry, Danks, Massey, Montague, Patel, Scriven (Hanna). 5
Saturday 20th August 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 40 Dudley Town returned to winning ways with a comfortable victory against local rivals Smetwhick Rangers at Tividale’s Packwood Road Stadium. In their first away fixture of the campaign, Town had to wait until the thirty-third minute to take the lead through Dan Danks. The lead was extended four minutes following the break when again Danks was on target notching his second of the afternoon. Town though were left to sweat when Jonathon Millichip halved Smethwick’s deficit, However, Town fans needn’t have worried and from a tght angle Danks bagged his hattrick with sixteen minutes left on the clock as The Robins responded well to the disappointment of the 1-0 efeat at home to OJM Black Country the Tuesday prior. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer (Field), Boswell, Colley, Beddall, Perry, Hanna (Seraton), Massey, Montague (Butler), Patel (Armstrong), Danks. SPONSOR 6
Monday 22nd August 2022 Kick-Off 7.45pm Attendance: 121 The Robins made it back to back wins for the first time in 2022-2023 with a statement making 4-0 success over Chelmsley Town at Pack Meadow. Kyle Montague got the scoring underway in the thirty-second minute as he headed home from close range after connecting to a cross from Alex Perry. To their credit Chelmsley kept themselves in the hunt, with Sam Yankson being a thorn in the visitors’ side and it wasn't until the sventy-fifth minute when they extended the lead, a fine solo run from Danks saw him slotting the ball past Ben Ntiri. Substitute Kaine Butler would grab a late brace, the first stealing in on sloppy defending and the second connecting to a Rob Hanna free kick from the left. The win marked the first back to back victories of the season, and there was much more to come. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer, Boswell, Colley, Beddall, Perry, Hanna, Massey (Seraton), Montague (Butler), Patel (Armstrong), Danks. 7
Saturday 27th August 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 178 The Robins made it three wins on the bounce and clocked up their thirteenth goal in three games with an eye catching performance against Wolverhampton Sporting. Dan Danks got the scoring underway with a thirtieth minute effort with Owen Massey extending the lead six minutes later as Town doubled their lead going into the break. The second half was all one way traffic, Jamie Beddall setting the tone with a bullet of a header four minutes after the break. Captain Alex Perry claimed his first of the campaign and Dudley’s fourth of the afternoon as the hosts ran riot. Substitute Kaine Butler made another cameo appearance with another brace, finding the net in the seventy-seventh and eighty-first minute. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer (Mitchell), Boswell (Smith), Colley, Beddall, Perry, Hanna, Massey (Seraton), Montague (Butler), Patel, Danks. 8
Monday 29th August 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 135 Bank Holiday Monday saw Town make a first ever trip to Thringstone to face Ingles who had recently transferred across to the MFL from the United Counties League. Dudley had brought with them a sizeable and vocal following from the Black Country, although they were sent into stunned silence in the twentieth minute when Ben Minshull’s low free-kick squirmed underneath goalkeeper Joe Gilbert to give the Leicestershire ased side the lead. Robins fans needn’t have worried though and ten minutes before the break Rob Hanna had restored parity with a fine solo goal. Town came out into the second half in full force and a stunning long range volley from Rhys Boswell handed them the lead on fifty-eight minutes. With Ingles tiring, Kyle Montague’s header with ten minutes remaining ensured the points were going home with the visitors. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Mitchell, Boswell, Colley, Smith, Perry, Hanna, Massey, Montague (Butler), Danks, Archer. 9

Saturday 3rd September 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 68 Dudley Town moved to the top of the table, a position they would not relinquish all season after thanks to this 3-1 win over Nuneaton Griff. Having been victorious at The Pingles Stadium by a 6-0 scoreline the year previous, things did not follow suit at and fifteen minutes the hosts took the lead when Corey Alcock converted a corner from player-manager Sam Belcher. It was a lacklustre first half from Dudley, but the did end it level. Kyle Montague converting from the spot having been fouled in the area by Griff goalkeeper Joe Salisbury. With the game heading for a 1-1 draw, Connor Archer came to Dudley’s rescue with two efforts within minutes having made the most of Sammy Chukwurah’s first Town appearence since 2019 with goals on sixty-eight and seventy-five minutes. The Robins were now heading the pack. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Mitchell, Boswell, Colley, Smith, Seraton, Hanna (Chukuwurah), Massey (Armstrong), Montague (Butler), Danks, Archer. 11
Tuesday 6th September 2022 Kick-Off 7.45pm Attendance: 100 Matty Lovatt’s side made it six wins on the bounce with a 2-1 midweek victory over Coventry Copsewood at Allard Way, a ground that has always been somewhat of an unlucky venue for Dudley. It was the visitors who started the brighter of the two sides, and were unlucky not to have an early lead with a Montague effort rattling the crossbar. The big centre forward did make amends however when on twenty-eight minutes he powered past his marker to slot the ball home. The second half saw Copsewood get back into the game and they got their reward. Failing to clear the lines Bryan Kohyrelon found the net after evading Town’s defence. An effort from substitute Lucas Edmonds appeared to be it until a wonderful curling effort from outside the box from Hinesh Patel won Dudley the game three minutes into stoppage time. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Mitchell, Boswell, Colley, Smith, Seraton, Hanna (Chukwurah), Massey, Montague (Edmonds), Danks, Archer (Patel). SPONSOR 12
Tuesday 13th September 2022 Kick-Off 7.45pm Attendance: 33 Thirty hardy souls made the midweek trip over Clee Hill to Ludlow as Dudley dropped points for the first time in seven games against newly energised Shawbury United. Shawbury were coming into the fixture with just four points from their opening seven whilst The Robins fielded highly rated summer signing from Cradley Town, Ethan Hawkes between the sticks for his debut. Indeed Hawkes’ first task was to get the ball from the back of his net as the hosts took a first minute lead through Elliot Lee. Town fought back and were level on fourteen minutes, Patel’s cross dipping under the crossbar, although veteran Marco Adaggio gave Shawbury a halftime lead. Patel levelled again within four minutes of the restart and despite intense pressure, with Edmonds coming close after earlier replacing the injured Montague, the game finished 2-2. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Mitchell (Ar mstrong), Boswell, Smith, Colley, Perry, Danks, Massey, Montague (Edmonds), Patel, Archer. 13
Saturday 17th September 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 235 The Robins returned to winning ways in what was on paper a very tricky trip to West Midlands (Regional) League Champions Droitwich Spa, who had enjoyed a fine start to life at Step Six. Town came into the fixture without top scorer Kyle Montague who had been injured in the midweek draw at Shawbury and was replaced with summer signing from Bromyard Town Lucas Edmonds. The first half proved to be a stalemate with Hawkes saving superbly from a Luke Molloy free-kick whilst Edmonds had two good chances to open the scoring. With the game heading toward a 0-0 draw, Town struck. A fine run by the impressive Chuckwurah on the left drew in the Droitwich defence and the midfielder’s cross goal pass to Dan Danks allowed him the easiest of finishes to claim an eighty-fifth minute winner. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Mitchell, Boswell, Smith, Colley, Perry, Danks, Massey, Edmonds (Chuckwurah), Patel, Archer. 14
Tuesday 20th September 2022 Kick-Off 7.45pm Attendance: 151 Struggling Haughmond were next to visit the Guardian Warehousing Arena as the Shrewsbury based club had endured a torrid opening two months following relegation from the MFL Premier Division. The hosts did not make life any easier for The Academicals as they put the early season strugglers to the sword. Sammy Chuckwurah’s fine run of form continued as he notched his first Robins goal of the season. Two minutes after the break Hinesh Patel made it 2-0 against a side struggling to gain any momentum. The result left Matty Lovatt’s side three points clear of second placed Bilston Town as attention turned toward the tricky autumn and winter periods. Saturday 1st October 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 139 A first Saturday home fixture since late August saw the arrival of Stapenhill, a tricky fixture against the previous season’s play-off finalists. The Derbyshire based hosts arrived without highly regarded marksman George Teeney who was indeed on the brink of a move to fellow East Midlands MFL outfit Ashby. It was Town who struck first in the twenty-seventh minute through Chuckwurah, before the midfielder added his second with a superbly executed lob from the halfway line. The returning Montague added a third five minutes before the break as Staoenhill were swept away. Former Wednesfield forward Ben Novis pulled agoal back with a fine freekick in the second half, but a consolation was all it was as Town notched up yet another eye-catching victory. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Colley, Perry, Danks, Sherwood, Montague (Edmonds), Patel (Crook), Chuckwurah (Hanna). 17
Saturday 8th October 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 70 Paget Rangers soaked up swathes of Dudley Town pressure as they taught the visitors a lesson in taking your chances on a warm early autumn afternoon at Coles Lane. Dudley immediately sustained pressure on The Bears who had enjoyed a strong start to the season before recently experience a fall off in form. Both Harry Crook, making his first start since a move from Lichfield City and Owen Massey had efforts that just cleared the Paget bar. Although it was Rangers who took the lead, Tim Oyanda stealing in at the far post to react first to an effort that had looped onto the crossbar. Town were being constantly frustrated but their break came just after the hour mark when Massey would convert from the spot after Crook had been felled in the area. Montague had a great chance to win it in the dying embers of the fixture but his powerful effort whistled over the crossbar and The Robins had to settle for a point to take back to the Black Country. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Colley, Massey, Danks, Sherwood (Scriven), Montague, Patel (Hanna), Crook. SPONSOR 18
Tuesday 11th October 2022 Kick-Off 7.45pm Attendance: 120 Re-arranged following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, this local derby against Cradley Town proved to be a captive and highly entertaining fixture between the two local rivals. Cradley entered the fixture with just one league victory all campaign, but didn’t show it at all. The Robins had created the better chances, but were unable to take the lead, Montague’s header against the bar being their best. Although the visitors went into the break ahead when Kane Harrold smashed home right on half-time. Town were being constantly thwarted by the impressive Cradley shot-stopper, Nana Frimpong, but did eventually equalise on seventy-six minutes through a Joe Colley header. It appeared Dudley would be dropping another two points for the second time in four days until Massey, deep into stoppage time wrong-footed Frimpong to smash home into the roof of the net to scenes of delirium from the Robins faithful. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Colley, Massey, Danks, Sherwood (Scriven), Montague, Patel (Hanna), Crook. 19
Saturday 15th October 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 135 Dudley Town recorded their first double of the season as they also extended their unbeaten league run to twelve with a 2-0 home victory over Nuneaton Griff. Griff arrived with themselves well in the mix amongst the early contenders for a playoff position and the first half showed two sides cancelling each other out. Town used the break to regroup and indeed reaped the rewards. Hinesh Patel side footing the ball home past the Griff shot-stopper seven minutes into the second period. The visitors from Warwickshire were looking particularly menacing, so it was relief all around when Ash Smith headed home from a corner with two minutes remaining on the clock to earn his side yet another three points. This would be the first of thirteen doubles throughout the 2022-2023 campaign. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Colley, Massey, Danks, Sherwood, Momtague (Yankson), Patel (Hanna), Crook (Chuckwurah). 20
Saturday 22nd October 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 201 Kyle Montague haunted his former club as a brace from the big centre forward ensured Town earned another three points, this time in the local derby with Wednesfield. The Cottagers always seem to have the knack of causing Town problems and as ever, despite their midtable position, this fixture was no different. The Robins did get off to a perfect start and were ahead inside the first ten minutes through Montague’s ninth minute strike. Despite vocal backing and some pressure from Wendesfield that’s how the score remained heading into the break. Just after half-time former Robin Dimitri Dunkley converted from the spot after Smith had given away a foul in the box, but with half an hour left on the clock, Montague stole in on the left to snatch the winner from close range. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Colley, Massey (Perry), Danks, Sher - wood, Montague, Patel (Scriven), Crook (Chuckwurah). Saturday 29th October 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 90 It was a bad day at the office for Dudley Town as bogey side OJM Black Country completed the double and dished out a first league defeat since August. The day had started in the best possible fashion for the visitors and they were ahead after four minutes when a powerful free-kick from Rhys Boswell found it’s way into the hosts’ net. The lead only lasted six minutes and OJM drew level on ten minutes through Casey Collins. Black Country were starting to boss the game and deservedly took the lead five minutes before the break with Collins again finding the net. Things would get worse for Town when future signing Jordan Crump netted from close range to give the Lye based side a 3-1 half-time lead. The Robins huffed and puffed but could not find a way through a midfield being commanded by the experience of both Brian Smikle and David Meese. A stunning strike from Zaquib Hussain with twenty-five to go put the game to bed. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell (Field), Smith, Colley, Massey, Danks (Hanna), Perry (Scriven), Montague, Patel, Chuckwurah (Crook). 21

Tuesday 8th November 2022 Kick-Off 7.45pm Attendance: 82 Bad weather meant that Dudley had to wait over a week to get back into action following defeat at OJM Black Country, lowly Heath Hayes was not the ideal place to do so. Heath Hayes had surprised many with their poor start to the campaign and indeed would endure a poor season, however they are always keen to get one over The Robins but tonight the visitors ensured that wasn’t the case. Owen Massey gave Town a ninth minute lead only to see former Chasetown and Stafford Rangers striker Nick Wellecomme restore parity before the break. Many may have feared an onslaught from the home side, but it never came. Indeed Kyle Montague restored Town’s lead with twenty five minutes to go. There was still time for Colley to head home four minutes later as Dudley shrugged off the recent defeat to OJM in the perfect manner. Saturday 12th November 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 179 Two fine goals scored in each half were enough for Dudley Town to come away from struggling AFC Bridgnorth with the full quota of points in what turned out to be an intriguing contest. A large crowd of one hundred and seventy nine had gathered at Crown Meadow and the home support was quickly silenced in the second minute with a stunning volley from Rhys Boswell that left the Bridgnorth shot-stopper with little chance. The Robins continued to hold the upper hand going down the slope, although Bridgnorth were beginning to work themselves back into the contest. A controversial goal handed The Meadowmen the equaliser just before the hour mark, Olgitere appearing to foul Perry set up Craig Knowles who’s fine strike evaded Hawkes. A superb team goal followed with twenty-four to play as Danks found Massey in the box who in turn stroked the ball into the net off the inside of the Bridgnorth post. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Colley, Perry, Danks (Yankson), Massey, Montague, Patel (Scriven), Sherwood (Armstrong). 24
Saturday 19th November 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 188 The memory of Graham Smith, the former Dudley Town manager who had taken The Robins to the Southern League Midland Division in 1985 was honoured off the pitch and the current first team delivered a fitting tribute on it with a pulverising 5-1 demolition of Paget Rangers. Owen Massey was the star of the show and he got the scoring underway after fifteen minutes, adding a second five minutes later. Goal of the afternoon fell to Sam Yankson, a recruit from Chelmsley Town, who lashed home into the top corner from an almost improbable angle on twenty-five minutes. Massey completed a first half hat-trick right on the break and another dominant showing in the second half brought a first senior goal for Joe Scriven. Harry Jackson grabbed a late consolation for the visitors. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Beddall, Perry (Crook), Sherwood (Armstrong), Massey, Yankson (Montague), Patel, Scriven. 25

Saturday 10th December 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 117 A lone penalty from Kyle Montague after twenty-two minutes was enough for Dudley Town to rack their season’s points tally to fifty-four and ensure that they would see out Christmas at the top of the pile. Despite Smethwick continuing to slip down the league at an alarming rate, they continue to show their ability and consistently leave Robins fans pondering why they are not a steady mid table outfit. The Robins though saw this one out comfortably, Rangers had former Dudley forward Lucas Edmonds in their side following his recent move and the youngster was kept quiet all afternoon by a resilient backline of Ash Smith and the highly regarded teenager Jamie Beddall. Yet another double was complete although Town were now up against an intimidating run of fixtures over the course of the following two months. Tuesday 27th December 2022 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 344 Matty Lovatt’s side made a bold statement to the rest of the Midland Football League Division One as in the end they comfortably swept past play-off chasing Bilston Town in a post Christmas local derby. Town came into the fixture with selection worries and without a recognised forward with both Yankson and Montague unavailable. Chasetown’s Jonathon Letford was brought in on loan to counter, however impressive shot-stopper Ethan Hawkes had sustained an ankle injury, keeping him out of action for six weeks. Despite their set backs, Town would draw first blood in the highly entertaining game as Jamie Beddall headed home a Rhys Bowell corner on twenty five minutes. The hosts, down to ten men, would level after the break through Ethan Pearce. But, yet again a late show stole the win with Alex Perry’s eighty second and Harry Crook’s eighty fifth minute efforts sealing the victory. Monday 2nd January 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 151 This was not the start to 2023 The Robins had in mind, as they were held at home by lowly Heath Hayes on what turned into an incredibly frustrating afternoon. Letford had retained his place in the starting eleven following a solid display at Bilston, whilst Montague was named on the bench following suspension. The Robins did have the better of the first half but were caught out just before the break when a throw in found Jay May who delivered an unstoppable effort into Joe Gilbert’s top corner. It was one way traffic in the second half, but it appeared that the relegation threatened visitors would handle everything thrown their way, until what transpired to be the very last kick of the game. Crook being fouled in the box, he made no mistake from the spot. Town had to take a draw, but it allowed Ashby Ivanhoe to draw level on points and by now, just one goal separated the two. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Beddall, Perry, Crook, Sherwood, Letford (Montague), Patel (Jones), Scriven (Danks). 30
Saturday 7th January 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 285 With Ashby Ivanhoe not in action, Town had the chance to create some breathing space between the two, although standing in their way was a Hinckley side who still had lingering hopes of a title push, it proved to be an afternoon that shaped the way the season would head. The hosts knew victory would see them close in to within five points of the top two and with the free scoring Chandler Pegg in their ranks certainly had the arsenal to mount a challenge for the championship. The first half proved to be a one sided affair with Hinckley well on top. Despite Tom Weale missing an early penalty Hinckley had further chances through Pegg and Issa Abraham. Although the second half was a different story, Boswell’s corner looped past Bache two minutes after the break and it caught Hinckley off guard. With Smith and Beddall dominating at the back, Archer was allowed to head home with twelve minutes left to secure a huge win. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Beddall, Perry, Crook (Jones), Sherwood (Scriven), Montague (Mitchell), Massey, Danks. 31
Saturday 28th January 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 292 The Robins navigated yet another hurdle in their quest for the MFL Division One title as they saw off Bilston Town for the second time in a little over a month in front of the biggest home gate of the campaign. With Bilston’s playoff push faltering, he visitors too were in desperate need of the points also and Gilbert had to pull off a super stop early on from former Dudley man Lewis Archer. The hosts though grew into the game and were ahead from the spot on fifteen minutes. The cagey affair continued until returning loanee from Rushall Olympic, Alex Cameron caught onto a through ball to expertly turn past Kai Lloyd. Bilston clawed a goal back through Angelo Franco in what was becoming a bad tempered affair. Although with five minutes to go Cameron once again beat the Bilston defence to give The Robins another priceless three points. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Beddall, Perry, Danks, Sherwood, Camer - on, Massey (Patel), Crook (Jones). 32

Saturday 4th February 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 67 The re-scheduling of the home game against Coton Green from December meant that The Robins would face the same opponent on consecutive Saturdays. With Ashby Ivanhoe still hot on Town’s heels the visitors travelled to the outskirts of Tamworth knowing full well that claiming three points was the order of the day. The hosts could boast Dudley’s top scorer in 2021-2022, Matty gardner in their ranks and had been enjoying a strong campaign following promotion in the summer. Whilst Dudley fielded highly rated forward Jordan Crump, a new signing from OJM Black Country. Both sides cancelled each other out in the first half, but the visitors superior fitness shone through as the game appeared to be heading to a 0-0 stalemate. Massey powered home a header from a corner in the seventy-second minute to jubilant scenes, whilst Harry Crook made the points secure ten minutes later with a lovely solo goal that was planted in the bottom right of the net. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Beddall, Perry (Mitchell), Danks, Sherwood (Patel), Crump (Jones), Massey, Crook. 34
Saturday 11th February 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 121 The Robins completed two back-to-back victories over Coton Green in the MFL Division One, but were made to work a lot harder for the points than they had been seven days previously. The visitors change in shape, opting for two up front with the highly regarded Ryan Conlon joining Gardner did cause additional worry for Town, although alas the outcome was the same. There was just one goal in it this time. A fine Harry Crook effort after twenty-one minutes was the only goal of the contest. The ‘Green Army’ did cause some worry for Dudley in the second period with Gardner and Conlon being a constant menace, although the Robins backline which had seen Colley and Hawkes drafted in handled the threat well. It was an important three points as next on the agenda was a season defining visit to second placed Ashby Ivanhoe. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Colley, Perry, Danks, (Chuckwurah), Sherwood, Crump (Yankson), Massey (Patel), Crook (Jones). SPONSOR 35
Saturday 18th February 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 412 Ivanhoe manager Andy Gray in his post match interview mentioned, tongue in cheek, that the title was was ’all over’ and despite the hosts still being in with a shout at the time, his comments were proved right as a 1-0 victory in Leicestershire was the beginning of Dudley building a large unassailable lead at the top of the table. Ashby came into the contest knowing a win would have seen them knock Town off the top of the table for the first time since September 3rd. They started well, and the visitors had Hawkes to thank for keeping the score at 0-0 in the early stages with a fine save. Town did get into the game, although the first half was a tight affair that remained scoreless. It was much of the same in the second period until Conkay received his marching orders for a terrible challenge on Crook. The Robins upped the ante and were eventually rewarded in the last minute when a fine move from Jones and Crook was finished by Danks to ecstatic scenes from the visiting fans. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Beddall, Perry, Crook (Jones), Sherwood (Scriven), Montague (Mitchell), Massey, Danks. 36
Saturday 25th February 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 112 Dudley Town moved eight points clear at the top of the MFL Division One with an impressive 5-0 destruction of Coventry Copsewood as the title became all theirs to lose thanks as well to Hinckley’s 2-0 defeat of Ashby. At the time Copsewood were by no means clear of the threat of relegation and craved the points as badly as the home side. It was Dudley who would make the breakthrough on twentyseven minutes as Danks found the net with affine volley. Coventry had looked dangerous with Brandon Patterson, but the centre forward saw red for a horrible tackle on Jordan Crump. It took until sixty-seven minutes to extend the lead after some dogged Copsewood defending. Yankson finding a way through before the floodgates opened. Danks bagged his second with a goal of the season contender after a wonderful team move whilst Harry Crook also earned himself in what would be the final game of an unbeaten league run that stretched back to October 29th. Dudley Town: Gilbert, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Beddall, Perry, Danks, Sherwood, Camer - on, Massey (Patel), Crook (Jones). 37

Saturday 4th March 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 46 An undefeated run of league fixtures that stretched back to October 29th came to an unexpected end in what of the shock results of the MFL Division One campaign as The Robins were beaten by Wolverhampton Sporting. Sporting had been on a horrible run of form that had seen just one league victory since the turn of the year and in the week had appointed former Town centre forward Mark Swann as their new manager. It had started well for Dudley when Dan Danks netted from close range after eleven minutes. Sporting though levelled just after the half hour mark, Thomas Harley making a fine run on the left wing and placing the ball past Hawkes, the first goal The Robins had conceded since January 28th. Sporting took the lead in the second half as Jewel Mbachu headed home a corner. Not even the return of Montague after a lay-off could see Town grab an equaliser. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer (Armstrong), Boswell, Smith, Colley, Perry, Jones (Chuckwurah), Massey, Yankson (Montague), Danks, Crook. Tuesday 7th March 2023 Kick-Off 7.45pm Attendance: 75 Dudley Town responded from the previous Saturday's shock defeat at Wolves Sporting in the best possible manner with a destructive performance against relegation threatened Haughmond. It was though a nervous first half performance from the visitors who were still clearly shell shocked from the previous fixture. Some mistakes at the back allowing The Academicals some good chances. Although nerves were settled right on half time as a superb volley from Joe Colley put Town ahead. The game was as good as over less than four minutes into the second half. Massey turning home from close range before a superb free-kick from Colley that caught the hosts’ ‘keeper off his line after forty-mine minutes. Dudley found their groove and further goals from Smith and a brace from Yankson saw Lovatt’s side return to winning ways. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer (Mitchell), Boswell, Smith, Colley, Perry, Jones, Massey (Armstrong), Yankson, Danks, Crook (Chuckwurah). 39
Saturday 11th March 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 156 Heavy snowfall during the week had put this fixture in serious danger, however the surface passed a 11.45am pitch inspection and the game was on against one of the league’s inform sides. The Leicestershire outfit had made no secret of their status as February's ‘Team of the Month’ following seven consecutive victories. Although they arrived at Noose Lane to find an unforgiving Dudley Town side now seeing the winning post of the league title race appear on the horizon. Ingles were without top marksman Ben Tansley, however offered little up top all afternoon. Harry Crook opened the scoring after seventeen minutes with a screaming effort from outside the box. Dan Jones doubled the lead a minute shy of the break with a well worked team goal. Second half goals from Danks and Yankson completed the rout. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer (Mitchell), Boswell, Smith, Colley (Beddall), Perry (Sherwood), Jones, Massey, Armstrong, Yankson, Danks, Crook (Chuckwurah). SPONSOR 40
Saturday 18th March 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 136 The Robins were made to work exceptionally hard for all three points against an AFC Bridgnorth side fighting for their lives at the bottom end of the table. The Meadowmen had suffered a miserable 22-23 campaign, although things were starting to turn a corner thanks to the recent appointments of Dom Heath and Steve Barrow. Town though would take the lead after eight minutes through Massey, although Luke Morris soon equalised from the spot. Two goals from Sam Yankson in the final ten minutes before the break gave Town a 3-1 half time lead. Although that was cut in the first minute following the break as Morris headed home from a fine move on the left. Town did get into gear and were 6-2 ahead after sixty-five minutes thanks to two goals from Danks and a thunderous effort from Perry. Matt Dean pulled a goal back for the visitors who continued their pressure to the last. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer (Mitchell), Boswell, Smith, Colley, Perry, Jones (Patel), Massey (Armstrong), Yankson, Danks, Crook (Scriven). 41

Saturday 1st April 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 137 Play-off chasing Droitwich Spa became the first team since OJM Black Country way back in August to leave Noose Lane with all three points in a pulsating afternoon of football. It could be argued that the points in question were more sought after by the visitors who were still in the process of fending off Bilston Town’s threat for a top five finish. The Worcestershire club came out of the blocks quickly and were 2-0 up within thirty minutes thanks to a Connor Collins brace. The home side did pull a goal back from the spot through Harry Crook as they clawed themselves back into the fixture. Alex Cameron equalised after fifty-two minutes as Town were by now looking the better side, although the Rushall Olympic loanee saw red with sixteen minutes left following a second bookable offence. Droitwich made their extra man count and eventually re-took the lead through Sam Hurdman. A last minute efford from James Lemon made sure of The Saltmen’s win. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith (Mitchell), Colley, Perry, Jones, Massey, Cameron, Danks, Crook (Montague). 43
Saturday 8th April 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 80 The Robins concluded their campaign with five consecutive victories and their first came at fierce local rivals Wednesfield that took Matty Lovatt’s side to within seven points of the MFL Division One Championship. The Robins faced a Wednesfield side depleted of key players including former midfielder Rhys Horton as well as star centre-back Joe Finch. Wenny started appallingly and found themselves a goal down after two minutes when Dan Danks fired home from outside of the box. It was 2-0 on twenty-one minutes as Town kept up the pressure as Dan Jones turned home a Rhys Boswell corner. The hosts did get into the game and were rewarded a penalty on thirty-two minutes, although Dunkley could only fire straight into Hawkes hands, Both sides traded blows in the second half, but neither could find a further breakthrough. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Colley, Perry, Jones (Scriven), Massey (Armstrong (Beddall)), Montague (Crump), Danks, Crook. 44
Monday 10th April 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 161 The Robins moved to within four points of the title as they battled through a tough afternoon on Easter Monday against a dogged and determined young Chelmsley Town side that had no intention of handing the three points on a plate to Dudley. The home side dominated proceedings throughout the first half and were unlucky not to have a half time lead. Kyle Montague having the best chance to net his first of 2023 as his effort sailed over the crossbar. Dan Danks did eventually find a breakthrough after fifty-four minutes with a low effort that evaded the Chelmsley ‘keeper. Adam Woods levelled with a little under twenty minutes left as he broke from a Dudley corner and executed a fine lob over the onrushing Hawkes. It appeared the game would be ending even, although not for the first time this season Town struck late as Danks converted following some neat footwork in the box from Perry. Saturday 15th April 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 242 Dudley Town reached the ninety-four point mark and in the knowledge that just a point in the midweek trip to Cradley Town would earn the MFL Division One league title. They were though made to work extremely hard for the win against an impressive Shawbury United side that took Dudley all the way. It was a nervous first half for Dudley in front of their second largest league attendance of the campaignas neither side could find a way through with both ‘keepers being on hand to keep the scores at 0-0. The Robins scored right after the break as Kyle Montague stole in on the right hand post to beat Shawbury shot-stopper Dan Pilkington. The lead was doubled on fifty minutes when Montague made the most of a slip in the box from Jack Fishman to fire home. Jason Harris cut the deficit in half with a glorious hit on the hour mark and Dudley eventually hung on to a priceless three points. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Boswell, Smith, Colley, Perry, Jones, Massey, Montague (Crump), Danks (Patel), Crook. 46
Tuesday 18th April 2023 Kick-Off 7.45pm Attendance: 255 Dudley Town ended a thirty-eight year wait for a league title as this 2-1 victory at Cradley Town ensured that Ashby Ivanhoe could not overhaul their points tally that had now hit ninety-seven. A large crowd had built up at Cradley’s Beeches View Avenue home ground and Dudley did not need much time to get the scoring underway as Montague slotted home after nine minutes. Dudley continued to dominate proceedings with Frimpong denying the visitors on several occasions. Former Robins midfielder Brad Ward levelled on fifty-five minutes with a beautifully executed free-kick that beat Hawkes. A draw would have been good enough for the title, but the moment was made all the sweeter with a late winner. Jordan Crump netting his first Dudley goal against his former club as he converted Ash Smith’s flick on to jubilant scenes from the travelling Town faithful. Dudley Town: Hawkes, Archer, Biswekkm Snith, Colley, Perry, Jones, Sherwood, Montague (Crump), Danks, Crook. 47
Saturday 22nd April 2023 Kick-Off 3pm Attendance: 115 It was a party atmosphere as, confirmed as champions the previous Tuesday evening, Dudley travelled to Derbyshire to face Stapenhill with the goals of achieving one hundred points and one hundred goals firmly in their eyes. Matty Lovatt had given a rest to several of his squad with Gilbert, Crump, Armstrong and Mitchell all coming into the side. Dan Jones gave Dudley the lead after twenty-nine minutes, evading his marker and powering home. Stapenhill did level just before the break with an unstoppable effort from Alex Weir. The visitors re-took the lead after sixty-six minutes, Harry Crook squaring the ball to Danks who made no mistake in slamming the ball home into the empty net. Crook took Town to a century of goals and as good as the one hundred point mark with a blistering free-kick. Substitute Connor Archer made it 4-1 on seventy-two minutes as he made the most of a fumble from goalkeeper Paul Hollis as The Robins wrapped up a fine season.
