On behalf of the Ministry of Higher Education, I am delighted to introduce to all, the 12th International Fundamental Science Congress (IFSC) 2021, a platform that can be an open door for all researchers and experts for academic deliberations and sharing scholastic thought, as well as offering current issues on fundamental science and technology-related, with the expert, particularly with more than 30 distinguished speakers from all over the world. The participation of the scientist, including the postgraduate’s students, researchers, and the expert can be a platform for them for sharing new knowledge and technology, and making collaboration with each other. Not just that, this congress also improving skills on promoting research and enhancing skills of presentation for the young ones. First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Allah the Almighty for giving us the chance for conducting the 12th International Fundamental Science Congress (IFSC) 2021. It is a great privilege and pleasure for me to welcome all the IFSC 2021 participants. I wish to congratulate the Faculty of Science, UPM for putting this event together, in promoting the fundamental science and technologies in cultivating exciting interdisciplinary research in the science field. As one of the research universities in Malaysia, UPM tries to implement an active approach in finding ways to improve imaginative work that contributes towards the advancement of the country throughout a significant expansion of time. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit the whole world, where any country including Malaysia has felt the effects of this pandemic. Despite this dire circumstance, we are exceptionally pleased to see the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science who has shown tireless commitment in continuing our mission to promote UPM at the worldwide level, particularly as evidenced through the coordination of this congress. The International Fundamental Science Congress (IFSC) is an annual event organised by Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) since 2008. Every year more than 200 researchers and postgraduate students from various disciplines of science participate in this event. This year 2021, Department of Physics (UPM) has been given the honour to host this prestigious event for the 12th time with collaboration from Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand and IPB University, Indonesia. The 12th International Fundamental Science Congress 2021 (IFSC2021) will be held on 24th – 26th August 2021 with the theme; As we are all aware, COVID-19 pandemic has been changing the world in many ways ranging from education, economy, research and our daily lives.
