THAT IT IS PUNITIVE:

we do not take punitive actions against
any employee or manager.

THAT IT IS HARD TO FILE A PE:

you can simply send an email to

PE.

THAT "HUMAN ERROR" COULD
BE A ROOT CAUSE OF AN ISSUE:

The most common causes of human errors
include lack of training, poor communication
and procedures, faulty equipment, and lack
of system. Therefore, human error is not a

CELEBRATING NATIONAL CAREER
DEVELOPMENT MONTH

November is National Career Development Month, a great chance
to continue investing and developing our employees’ career
paths.
As part of our global growth, we started a leadership and
Interpersonal skills workshop for our employees, which is
designed to positively impact the performance and results of
SiParadigm by increasing the personal and interpersonal
effectiveness of its leaders and key personnel. As a result of this
training, teamwork, collaboration, leadership, accountability,
response to change, and forthright communication will be more
effective within the SiParadigm organization, and a cultural
transformation will begin to take place.
This workshop is highly interactive and involves an experiential
process utilizing games, activities, and exercises. Those activities
allow participants’ natural behavioral tendencies to surface,
improve self-awareness, and create a better understanding of the
importance of behavioral choice.

And did we win?

By: Ms. Saira Pravez - PMO Head

13th Nov 2022 was a cloudy and chilly
Sunday in most parts of Pakistan. The
day was eagerly awaited by most of our
population because of the afternoon’s
match — the T20 Men’s Cricket World
Cup final match between Pakistan and
England. And did we win?

No, we could not. And it led me to some
self-talk that resulted in a few
reflections on teamwork.
The same thoughts have found their
way into this magazine to reach your
minds (and hearts). Our cricket team
has at least five players that are among
the top 10 in the world. Still, we may
lose, esp. under pressure. While there
may be in numerous areas of
improvement, one pertinent domain is
identifying and grooming the weakest
links in a team or group. Individual
brilliance must be appreciated; but in a
team setting, its value is in mentoring
colleagues and focusing on the team’s
strength. It is incumbent upon the best
players on the team to take others
along, empathize with them and assist
them in unleashing their true potential. Just as water, when stagnant, gets stale and clogs the
passages, knowledge, and expertise possess the same characteristics. If these do not flow
freely from one soul to another, these are suffocated and invite the decline of wise minds.
Moreover, such stagnant knowledge and expertise also tend to create roadblocks to the
team's success. “Sharing is caring” is not only a colloquial expression or a lesson from Aesop’s
fable. Sharing indeed ignites the compound effect and results in the exponential growth of a
team’s collective wisdom and achievements.

When Paulo Cohelo says, “If you want something in life, the whole Universe conspires for you
to get it,” he expects us to read between the lines. If the fire of purpose is oozing with energy,
it will compel us to take action — perform due diligence, strategize, develop tactics, peel off
the details and chalk out plans, etc. During this journey, the Universe will conspire in our favor
by providing us with opportunities but, most of the time, these would be put forth for us in the
garb of work and labor. “No pains, no gains” remains a universal truth, come what may.

So, for this T20 World Cup match and in all other failed attempts in life, did we win? No Could
we win? Yes
How? By strategizing for the collective good. By paying the most attention to the weakest
link.
Can we win in the future? Always a YES. Optimism supports the belief, which reflects
confidence, that enables us to share our talents with fellow team members, making a strong
collective unit that focuses on group success, grabs all opportunities, and does not shirk work.
That is when we can change “And did we win?” to “And we did win!”

5 tips for your career
development

National Career Development Month in November signals a time for students and
employees to focus on their future career choices.
“Where do you see yourself in five years?” Everyone has been asked that question in an
interview at one point or another in their careers. Well, asking this question is more about
getting insight into your hopes, aspirations, and goals for the next few years. But the real
question is, how can you reach your goals? Career development, at its core, is about setting
goals and acquiring the skills to achieve those goals. Here are some ways to start doing that:

Set short-term goal: Forget about where you see yourself in 5 years now. Write down

your short-term goals and create a timeline to finish them. For example: Taking an online
course can help expand your knowledge.

Work on your communication skills: Open your “sent mail” folder and read

through work-related communications. Are you clear and straightforward? Do your
colleagues respond well to your emails? Is there anything you can improve on? If you’d like
to improve on spoken interactions as well, ask coworkers about your strengths and
weaknesses, and use that feedback to improve.

Challenge yourself: Developing your career requires time, motivation, and

commitment. Challenge yourself often by setting goals.

Get feedback: While self-assessment is important, it is also important to get feedback all

the time. Be open to criticism and advice. Getting feedback and finding common threads
and unique viewpoints can help you improve your performance.

Develop a long-term goal: A five-year plan can give you the feeling that your goals

are pretty far off. Set regular milestones along the way and reward yourself when you meet
them. Evaluate your five-year plan regularly to see what’s working and what isn’t. Don’t let a
change in trajectory throw you completely off-course. Instead, reconfigure and set yourself
on a new path to achieving your goals.

Choosing the best approach for your career is an essential component of your lifelong career
development. The important thing to remember is that your approach is your own. If you
find that multiple approaches like those mentioned above appeal to you, find a way to
combine those to take the right approach for you.

The 10th of November was International Accounting Day. We had

the pleasure to interview Amr ElSayed the finance manager of
Cairo site where he talked about his inspiring journey at

siParadigm and the challenges he faced during his successful career
path.

Tell me about your journey at siParadigm?

In fact, I consider it both an exciting and a challenging
journey beginning with the building of the finance team with
exceptional talents, the implementation of the accounting
software, the improvement of Police and Procedures, the risk
assessment for risk mitigation, and developing the budget for
our company's future vision. These were all during a critical
time in the world (covid 19 pandemic).
Through the ongoing hard work of the finance team and our
CFO’s support and guidance, we have made significant
changes in Siparadigm.

What do you feel are the biggest challenges faced by
finance managers?

In addition to managing remote teams, I found the different
workplace regulations and taxes to be the biggest challenges

Give a piece of advice to your team

Work toward the company's goals and use your best effort to
become an expert at your job and rather than focusing on a
problem, be an employee who offers solutions.

pleased to interview Mohammad

Legal Islamabad site who joined

siParadigm Diagnostic Informatics (Pvt)
Ltd in Sep '2020. When Momtaz joined,

The heart of what we do

In terms of the organization growing and changing, the last

really put our values at the forefront of what we do. I’ve been
part of the creative process we’ve gone through to get to the
heart of who we are as an organization.

The Uniqueness of Here

The unique thing about here is the sheer sense of
camaraderie; and the true care behind that. I do believe that
we show care unbound and I have a hundred examples of
things that I see all the time. Our caring culture is based on
a sense of community, mindfulness, and promoting wellness.
