DAY fifteenWe must talk to those we are in a relationship with about a Jesus working now, not just
one we read of in Scripture. Many share a Jesus from history without sharing a Jesus
alive and working on our behalf right now! What God is doing in our lives today
connects us to those who may have the same fear, anxiety, or discouragement
Sharing our testimony in a relationship can strengthen those who have difficulty
believing that God will do great things for them. Our testimonies illustrate to others
God's power at work in us to overcome fear, anxiety, doubt, temptation, or any other
circumstance. Our testimony of the power of Holy Spirit in our life builds others up to
overcome.
Remember, there must be something to overcome to be an overcomer!
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and
they did not love their lives to the death" (Revelation 12:11, NKJV).
"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome
the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is
the Son of God?" (1 John 5:4-5, NKJV).
"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors, and teachers,
to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up" (Ephesians
4:11-12, NIV).
Christ has given spiritual gifts to everyone in the church. While everyone must come to the
knowledge, apply, and demonstrate their spiritual gifts, everyone must also accept the
responsibility to help grow the church. We think church membership is about having rights and
privileges, but membership is more about responsibility. The church's work rests on every
individual's shoulder, and God gives the increase.
Identify areas where God is revealing Himself to you and spend some time meditating on how
He expresses His love to you. Now, ask Him to show you who you might pray for today.
