What if…
Do you ever play the what if game? I guess it is not really a game.
Let me ask it this way. Do you ever start making plans and then
think about what you will do if your plans do not work out? Do you
ever think about your past and wonder how your life would have
been different if you had made some different choices?
What if… can steal a lot of time from the present. If it is in the form
of worry about the future it can go on and on forever. With each
answer to the what if there is a new what if developed. If what if is
about the past it too is endless. Who knows what may happen in
the future or what could have happened in the past? More than
who knows, WHO CARES?
Wait! Please do not stop reading yet! Since there is nothing we can
do about either one I suggest a different path. Here is what I am
saying… since you cannot change the past and cannot control the
future and what may or may not happen, live in the present. What
can you do today?
Yes! That may mean that there are things in the past you need to
deal with. Yes! That may mean there are things in the future you
need to prepare for. Do that now! Do not waste time on what you
cannot change and what you cannot control. Do what you can…
and that is make the most of right now!
So what are you waiting for?
