An expository essay about difficult times in life make us become stronger

“Life can only be understood backward, but it must be lived forwards” (Soren Kierkegaard,
1843). Humans are born with the same form. The experiences of life have led people to learn
about the true meaning of life. Life could be an analogy as an art. To complete the art, many
colors need to be used and the color represents the emotions we had. Every event that occurs
has a lot of impact on the development of oneself. This is because an individual can build their
strength through life experiences especially when dealing with difficult times in life. The
question is, how does dealing with difficult situations in life help us to become stronger? Some
things help us build strength when dealing with difficult situations such as being able to learn
from experience, build rational thinking and realize what is truly valuable in life. All these
things,I will explain in the next paragraph.

First and foremost, dealing with difficult times can build self-strength by learning
through the event that occurs. Humans mature due to experience instead of age (Mohammed
Shahemy Azmi, 2021). The more experience a person has, the more mature the individual
becomes. For example, the situation is with family members to pursue higher education such
as enrolling in boarding school. Being separated from parents has never been easy for some
of us due to the young age. However, entering boarding school help students to build their
confidence and social skills that could be used in the future. Nevertheless, it will teach us to
be more self-relying in life and not to expect help from our parents alone. Undoubtedly during
the separation, some individuals shed tears, but it does not matter because it is only a sense
of being alone. This is assessed by how the individual deals with the situation and establishes
their strength to stay afloat from the situation and to overcome it. Such things will help us to
be more open-minded and not misrelate others' decisions to keep us away from our families
because of the benefits that will be acquired sometimes. Our thinking will be shaped to be
more open in accepting something new even if it is not desirable at the beginning. The tense
we had in our experience at the end gave us more courage and positive value in returns
because humans always learn from the mistake.

Moreover, appreciating our daily lives is one of the ways to become stronger in life's
twists. Many obstacles and difficulties we need to face in our life. The practice of daily life is
usually according to the previous person without ever judging the truth or not for us as human
beings. Although the activities carried out are small but beneficial, they should be continued
like the culture of salaam among our community which is one of Islamic culture. This is seen
as a small thing, but it could give an impact on our community. On the other hand, there are
undoubtedly individuals who do wrong, but this is normal for them. For example, spreading
the word on social media without knowing the truth. This is seen and evaluated as normal, but
it should be noted that not all normal practices are correct. We are more likely to suffer a
severe blow than others with that announcement. Of course, our emotions will be disrupted
and keep us thinking about it. That moment was a bittersweet moment to deal with.
Nevertheless, from such incidents, we could take lessons and do not arbitrarily act without
thinking Long first. Therefore, Appreciation in this life is not always only a positive thing but
also a bad thing. From this, we can learn to be more aware of the need to constantly improve
ourselves than to do unnecessary things. If we constantly assess the level of everyday life,
we will be able to build a strength that no one else has because it is shaped through self-
assessment.

Other than that, the strength that will be built when faced with difficult moments in life
is to produce rational thinking. Rational thinking helps an individual to act more intelligently
and maturely in every situation. For example, when faced with a conflict, the experience will
provide a wise response. Eventually, a new and more mature attitude will be formed indirectly.
In addition, individuals who have faced difficult moments can act calmly in every situation.
Basically, everyone will act anxiously and panicked when faced with a critical moment. For
example, a road accident situation that cost the lives of several individuals. In these

circumstances, the decisions made must be accurate and appropriate to ensure that the
victims involved are safe. Our proactive actions, like calling on the public to give space for the
victims to make oxygen supply to the victim are sufficient. The situation is less taken seriously
by the people because they just want to see the current situation happening without assessing
the needs of the victims. With that, the situation of the accident could be well controlled
because of the initial action taken. When we face the moment, we will begin to understand
some of the needs that need to be implemented. This is a strength for us who can control the
situation even in difficult circumstances. This good regulation of conditions cannot be done by
everyone but only by those who have the strength to lead things. Dealing with difficult
moments can build a mental stunt that produces rational thinking.

In conclusion, dealing with difficult moments in life is a good thing because it can build
something new in an individual. It also can teach an individual to be stronger because of the
experience. Indirect learning processes will take place. None of life goes through a human
who has no problems at all. Indeed, we should not be afraid to face any problem because we
need to be confident and believe that every problem that comes has a solution. The more
problems we face, the greater the strength we build. Sometimes you do not realize your
strength until you come face to face with your greatest weakness (Susan Gale, 2018).
