Founder Ron Vaughn started Vaughn Electric in 1963 with four employees. His focus was on commercial/industrial Electrical Projects, however, he quickly realized there was a high demand for High Voltage Contractors. While Ron continued to grow the commercial/industrial electrical division, the High Voltage Division became his passion. The HV Division grew quickly with projects, personnel and equipment, which made Vaughn a renowned High Voltage Contractor. In the late 70’s, Ron’s vision to expand his services became a reality when he acquired Carey Sheet Metal and started a General Contracting Division. These acquisitions, enabled Vaughn to offer a “turn key” solution for his clients – from bringing in the high voltage power lines, building the substation, to constructing the building, complete with HVAC, electrical, plumbing and communications. Shortly after, Vaughn Electric became Vaughn Industries to better reflect the services he offered. After Ron’s passing in the late 80’s, Tim Vaughn – CEO and Gregg Vaughn – Vice President took over the reins and continued to grow Vaughn Industries and expand the services they offer, including over 500 megawatts of Solar Power Construction. Resources Vaughn Industries, LLC Statement of Qualifications 6 Virtual Design Construction Our in-house Virtual Design & Construction Department utilizing VDC & BIM for accurate modeling prior to construction, delivering our clients customized and creative solutions. Vaughn Industries’ fully staffed VDC Department runs “Collision Checks” while modeling the project, preventing costly on-site re-work, keeping the project on schedule. Once VDC design is complete, we transfer the information to our Robotic Total Stations ensuring accurate layouts in the field, for allowing our field crews to do site/building layouts accurately and efficiently. The VDC/BIM department coordinates with all trades from concept through construction, field verifying dimensions and layouts to ensure efficient and accurate installation. Our key personnel have hands on experience in the field, working their way up from apprenticeship through the ranks to their current positions. As they say “it looked good on paper”, but that is only half of the equation, without field savvy experience, constructability is often times jeopardized. Our unique company offers the field experience of multiple trades and with our in-house VCD, pre-fabrication and estimating departments; we collaborate, in-house, with the people that design, provide cost estimates and install; providing an on Time and on Budget Project. Resources Estimating/Pre-construction Vaughn Industries’ In-house Estimating and Pre-construction staff is comprised of over 16 full time experts, specializing in their own field of knowledge and experiences. From Plans and Specs to Design-Build Projects, our Pre-con Teams are ready assist our clients with budgeting, product reviews and recommendations to efficient installation ideas. Since 1963, Vaughn Industries has gained in-depth knowledge and experience of a multitude of projects types, including, Healthcare, Lower and Higher Education, Airports, Industrial/Manufacturing Facilities, Emergency Services, Libraries, High Voltage Sub-stations, High Voltage Transmission and Distribution Lines, Utility Size Solar Fields, and Anaerobic Bio-Digesters. Equipment Vaughn Industries is ready to go to work, with over 400 pieces of equipment in our arsenal, including line trucks, bucket trucks, man-lifts, bull-dozers, and excavation equipment. In the event we need to rent a piece of equipment, Vaughn has negotiated the best rental rates with the largest rental equipment companies, controlling project costs. Capabilities SafetyHaving a partnership with OSHA, Vaughn Industries is OSHA Star Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Mobile Workforce Certified. Our field tradespeople all receive 30 hour OSHA, CPR/First Aid training along with specialized electrical training through NFPA 70E and 1910.269. Vaughn Industries’ Safety Director manages a full time inspectors along with over more than 700 safety participants; yes, our production field crews are part of our Safety Team utilizing Task Hazard Analysis Cards and Behavioral Based Safety with our “checkit” program. We look out for each other here at Vaughn Industries. Our Safety Department inspects our Job Sites weekly, in collaboration with our Project Superintendents and Foremen, who performing daily Safety Audits.
