Group

Gale E. Klappa is the Executive
Chairman of WEC Energy Group,
one of the nation’s premier energy
companies, serving 4.6 million
customers. Mr. Klappa joined
WEC Energy Group in April 2003
as President when it was known
as Wisconsin Energy. With more
than 40 years of experience in the
public utility industry, he leads the company and board with a deep
understanding of the investment decisions and public policy issues
facing large public companies. Business Worldwide magazine
named Mr. Klappa CEO of the Year – Electric and Natural Gas
industry for both 2016 and 2018. In 2018, he was also named CEO of
the Year by CEO Monthly Magazine for the most Outstanding Energy
Delivery Holding Company.

Mr. Klappa also serves on several boards in the community and
has been recognized for his leadership in helping to shape the
economic future of southeast Wisconsin through the launch of the
Milwaukee 7 regional economic development initiative. He is a 1972
graduate cum laude of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a
bachelor’s degree in mass communications.

The Distinguished Citizen Award is presented annually by the Boy
Scouts of America to a corporate, civic, or community leader in
the greater Milwaukee area. First established in 1987, past award
recipients have included distinguished CEOs, elected officials, and
religious leaders.

Mary Ellen Stanek

Managing Director, Co-Chief Investment Officer,
Baird

Mary Ellen Stanek, CFA, has more than 40 years of
investment management experience. She serves
as Managing Director of Robert W. Baird & Co. and
Co-Chief Investment Officer of Baird Advisors.
Additionally, she is President of the Baird Funds,
and previously she was President and CEO of Firstar
Investment Research & Management Company.

In 2022, Mary Ellen was named Morningstar’s
Outstanding Portfolio Manager, one of the 2022 U.S.
Morningstar Awards for Investing Excellence. In 2020
and 2021 she was named to Barron’s list of the 100 Most Influential Women
in U.S. Finance.

Mary Ellen serves on the boards of Baird Financial Group, Northwestern
Mutual, and WEC Energy Group (NYSE:WEC). She also serves on the boards
of All-In Milwaukee, Boys and Girls Clubs (past Board Chair), Children’s
Hospital Foundation, Faith In Our Future Trust, Froedtert Health, Greater
Milwaukee Committee (past Chair), Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Medical
College of Wisconsin (past Board Chair), and Milwaukee World Festival.

She received her undergraduate degree from Marquette University (Magna
Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and her graduate degree from the University of
Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

The STEM scholarship was founded by the Priebe Family
Foundation. Their commitment to Scouting and their desire to
support higher education for young men who have achieved the
rank of Eagle Scout has resulted in this $10,000 scholarship for
Eagle Scouts interested in attending school for study in a STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) related field.
Candidates are assessed based on leadership activities, school
accomplishments, community and Scouting involvement.
