Introducing the Replant Pen: From Waste to Wealth In a world grappling with the challenges of waste management and environmental pollution, we present our foremost product—a groundbreaking solution that combines innovation with environmental consciousness. Waste generated from conventional pens poses a significant threat to our planet, but we believe it also holds the potential for sustainable change. Our project aims to revolutionize the way we write by introducing the Replant Pen, an eco-friendly alternative that minimizes plastic waste and promotes sustainability. By utilizing biodegradable materials such as a clay body and a paper-based pen cap, we take a bold step towards reducing landfill accumulation and preserving our environment. Beyond waste reduction, the Replant Pen aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal 12, focusing on sustainable consumption and production. With its latex ink cartridge and rambutan-based ink, this pen embraces sustainability, eliminating harmful chemicals commonly found in traditional inks. By choosing the Replant Pen, users actively participate in reducing environmental degradation and supporting responsible consumption. Our commitment extends beyond environmental impact. Through partnerships with local communities, entrepreneurs, and small and medium-sized enterprises, we strive to create economic opportunities and foster sustainable economic growth. Together, we can forge a path towards a cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous future. Introduction

Problem Statement: PLASTIC POLLUTION Americans discard disposable pens annually, leading to plastic waste in landfills and as litter. This plastic waste breaks down into microplastics, polluting waterways and harming ocean life. 1.6 BILLION Plastic pollution is a global concern, as highlighted by an incident in India where a pen cap was found inside fried fish. Over 2 billion plastic pens are sold globally each year, resulting in significant plastic waste that ends up in landfills, oceans, and even our food. BIC alone sold 100 billion disposable ballpoint pens Pen bodies consist of various plastic types, making recycling challenging Complex mixture complicates separation and reduces recycling efficiency
Problem Statement: CHEMICAL INK Traditional printer inks, like petroleum-based ink, have hidden environmental costs. Petroleum-based ink contributes to resource depletion, greenhouse gas emissions, and pollution. Recycling traditional ink cartridges is low, with around 30% being recycled globally. Ink production consumes resources and releases harmful chemicals and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) & hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) into the atmosphere.
Problem Statement: Deforestation Deforestation leads to the loss of vital ecosystems, disrupts wildlife habitats, and contributes to climate change.
