Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated
Kappa Iota Omega Chapter

First Quarter New Day Team
January - March 2021 Waynette Kimball, President
Shana Brown, Vice-President

Greetings From the PRESIDENT

Greetings,

It is a New Day! As we have embarked upon a new year in life, AKA and the Kappa Iota Omega Chapter, I am
pleased to be your 2021-2022 Chapter President. The Kappa Iota Omega chapter continues to accomplish much,
rendering services in rural areas and beyond. Although we are not a large chapter in numbers, our work and service
is powerful and with the work and dedication of each member, we will continue to leave our mark on all
communities and lives we touch.

I am pleased to etch my legacy in leadership of this chapter by naming my Executive Board and Leadership Team,
The New Day Team. Each member of this chapter is appreciated, and we welcome you to a New Day in AKA. I
encourage and charge you with accepting the challenge to be an active participating member. As we advance our
technological resources and continue programming under the platform, “Exemplifying Excellence Through
Sustainable Service”, it will take each of us to ensure some members are not carrying the weight alone. Each of us
has talents and gifts to offer to our sisters, chapter, and communities we serve.

Lastly, thank you again for your vote of confidence! It gives me great pleasure as I commit to streamlining processes
and the efficiency of procedures in our chapter as well as heightening collaborative efforts amongst other
organizations in our communities. Thanks to each of you for being a part of this New Day Team!

Sisterly Love,
Waynette JonTeele Kimball

Greetings From the VICE PRESIDENT

Welcome from the New Day Leadership Team!

It’s a New Day to shine, a New Day to be cordial to a Soror, and a New Day to share in some NEW and diverse
activities. We have had a wonderful three months of 2021 in the Kappa Iota Omega Chapter. Programs are the
HEART of our sorority and we are truly “Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service” with the programs
that you have sponsored thus far.

I am humbled and elated to serve as your Vice-President for the next two years. Leadership is about being of
service to others and helping to build teams that are willing to work on projects and initiatives so everyone can be
successful. Our President and I seek to pull and nurture those strengths and talents out of our sisters. We thank you
for stepping out of your shell to lead programs and committees. Good leadership is also contagious, and we hope
that as we travel this flight, the chapter will have the experience of a lifetime with great leadership and lots of
positivity. Your continued support is appreciated as we incorporate meaningful, effective and efficient new ideas
with the changing of times. The pandemic has not stopped our progress of moving forward, and we will continue to
strive to reach higher heights.

In closing, please continue to plan and execute great programs for us and the community. We must always
continue to grow and do more. I can’t wait to see what the next few months will hold for us. Keep the programs
coming!!!

Sisterly Love,
Shana Brown
