Witticisms "Neck pain and arm pain were two things I suffered with for over 30 years. It affected my sleep
and work life and bothered me daily. I also couldn’t move my arm in certain motions. I went to
other doctors, and the pain would become manageable but never fully went away. That all
changed when I met the Experience Family Chiropractic team at a local event. After starting care,
the knots and pain in my neck were gone and have yet to come back; my range of motion in my arm
has improved as well. I wish I had started chiropractic care sooner! The Experience Family
Chiropractic staff is great and the office is beautiful; I definitely recommend chiropractic care to
others." - Kathleen

FITNESS
All about Yoga

Workout fads come and go but yoga has been around for almost 5,000 years. Yoga
is not just a “ho hum” relaxation exercise, but it is also a calorie burner and muscle
toner. There are several different forms of yoga and, the best part, it is great for all
fitness levels and ages!

Example of different types of yoga:

• Hatha: the form most often associated with yoga, it combines a series of basic
movements with breathing.

• Vinyasa: a series of poses that flow smoothly into one another.

• Power: a faster, higher-intensity practice that builds muscle.

• Ashtanga: a series of poses, combined with a special breathing technique.

• Bikram: also known as “hot yoga,” it’s a series of 26 challenging poses
performed in a room heated to a high temperature.
• Iyengar: a type of yoga that uses props like blocks, straps, and chairs to help you
move your body into the proper alignment.

Areas Yoga targets:

• Arms
• Legs
• Glutes
• Back

Benefits:

• Flexibility
• Aerobic
• Strength
• Low-impact
• Relaxation and stress release

Where can I practice this?
There are classes offered at local yoga studios and some fitness studios. You can
also find some classes online (You Tube or On-Demand) to take at your convenience
in your own home.

Berliner Weisse

Tasting Notes
Berliner Weisse should have a thick,
long lasting white head. Typically it is
clear due to the acidity level. Peach and
apricot should be present, along with lac-
tic acid, sometimes a lemon quality. The
beer should be subtly tart with no bit-
terness and finish bone dry. It should be
well carbonated, up to 4 bars of pressure,
low abv, and very drinkable.

It pairs well with fruit such as cherries,
strawberries, or melon. Havarti and
aged ham or pretzel work as well.

Winners are Crowned

The Ladies Leading Right in Cape Coral crowned the 3rd Annual
Woman of the Year, along with 6 Women of Distinction, a

“It was my distinct honor to be awarded “Woman of the Year”

Sincerely appreciate being presented “Hometown Hero” award

the opportunity to continue being of service with these women
of integrity. Thank you all sincerely.” – 2019 Woman of the Year
Amanda Goodlin

About 200 people were on hand to celebrate all the outstanding
Women of Distinction in Lee County. “Some of our winners are
names that many in the crowd knew, while others were women
who don’t ever get recognized for their achievements, women
who, if asked, would say that they are not special. And that’s
what makes these women so deserving, “ said Susan McNamara,
Chair for the 2019 Women of Distinction Committee.

The 2019 winners are:

• Nadege Borgat, Woman of Distinction -- Business
• Dina Comer, Woman of Distinction -- Education/Mentoring

• Therese Everly, Woman of Distinction -- Politics
• Deborah Smith Ford, Woman of Distinction -- Creative Arts

• Amanda Goodlin, Woman of Distinction -- Hometown Hero

“I was beyond humbled to be nominated
and awarded. Thank you and everyone
who worked so hard to recognize the
outstanding women in our community.”
– Woman of the Year Amanda Goodlin

“From the dozens of nominations, a total
of 22 finalists were picked by our panel
of 7 judges, all community leaders. From
those finalists, the 8 winners were picked.
And from those winners, the Woman of
the Year was awarded,” said McNamara.
“Each year, the competition between
the nominations is so tight, making it
difficult to choose a winner. I’m so glad
that I don’t have to be a judge!”

2017 Woman of the Year Connie Ramos-
Williams and 2018 Woman of the Year Lisa
Barnes were both on hand to participate
in the ceremony. “What a wonderful
event to recognize these incredible
women of distinction. Congratulations
