14 ONG-ORN COMPANY PROFILE MANUFACTURING Location Our main manufacturing plant is located in Chiang Rai province (212, Moo 2, Sansai subdistrict, Muang district, ChiangRai57000,Thailand, Tel: +66(0)53152757). Over24,000-square meter functional space on a 18 rai of land, the building is divided intoseveral divisions inorder to deliver high-quality, safe outcomes in a sustainable and productive manner. The location is in Chiang Rai as the provinceisa primelocationfor theimports of teakwood from Myanmar, Laos and also from Thailand’s northern region. Additionally, Chiang Rai isalsoanepicentreof woodcraftsman,carving works and other craftsmanship. Preparing Wood In regard to solid wood construction of furniture, ONG-ORN basically uses teakwood provided from a sustainable teak plantation certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, in parallel to supportive effort for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation and Illegal Logging. Originally, ONG-ORN is committed to promote forest plantation development that will ease up the problemsof teak wood shortageinthefuture. When on the sawmilling process, a logs are split as according to required size. In sawmill area, split panels disjointed according to is thick and kind of wood so easy arrange in kiln dry. In partnership with the development project of wood kiln led by Assoc. Prof. Songklod Jarusombut, Head of Wood Technology, the Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University as well as a supportive funding from National Science and Technology Development Agency:NSDTA and IndustrialTechnology Assistance Program: ITAP, ONG-ORN's processof wood drying is standardized to make refined-quality wood furniture. Our manufacturing plant is integrated with a warehouse to store and stack our materials particularly lumber that are kept in place under appropriateacademicand scientifically-appropriate manner.
