INSULATION, LOAD AND TEMERATURE MONITOR
The insulation, load and temperature monitor or insulation monitoring device (IMD) ensures absolute
reliability of measurement by means of a codified signal that is able to detect the disturbances generated
by the common devices in the operating theatres/rooms and critical care areas; this avoids unwanted alarm
signalling.
The VA40 model measures insulation resistance, insulation impedance, load and temperature of the
medical isolation transformer.

ISOLATION TRANSFORMER
The Isolation Transformer is specially designed for medical locations where there is a galvanic
separation between the primary and secondary windings. The primary side is connected to the
TN system and the secondary is converted to an IT system. An electrostatic screen or shield is
installed between the windings to reduce electrical interference, and has an insulated connector
for connection to the equipotential bonding.

IPS DISTRIBUTION BOARD
The IPS distribution board houses the insulation, load and temperature monitor, double pole
miniature circuit breakers and other accessories. It can be constructed for wall mounting or floor
standing. A transparent acrylic window allows viewing of the insulation, load and temperature
monitor’s parameters without the need of opening the door.

REMOTE SIGNALLING PANEL
The standard IEC 60364-7-710 requires an acoustic and visual alarm system to be installed at a
suitable place so that the medical staff can permanently monitor it. In most cases, the remote
signalling panel is installed on the operating theatre/room panel or at the nurse station.
