Manual for Using the Corporate Logo(IAEC)

2This manual lays down the basic guidelines for the proper use of the corporate logo of the International Association of Educating Cities (IAEC). Its proper application guarantees visual coherence, strengthens the Association’s identity and bolsters institutional recognition on an international level.1.INTRODUCTION

2.GENERAL PRINCIPLESThe use of the logo is strictly reserved to member cities of the Association. The IAEC logo is a distinctive symbol and represents the values of the Association. It consists of the following elements:•The world: this signifies the Association’s international engagement.•The urban layout: this identifies the city or local area, i.e., the active subject of the Association.•The hand: this symbolises the human condition and the power of creation and transformation. With our hands we shape the environment, build tools, and also heal or caress. The hand is also a symbol of learning. Through touch, gestures or manual work, we gain knowledge.•The fingers: these signify the continents.•Colours: these signify the diversity of people, cultures, ideas, etc., while the fusion of colours suggests movement and change.Any external or third-party use must be approved in advance by the IAEC Secretariat.
